They all started learning how to program EU4 C# for upcoming Sandbox :~
I personally just can't write any more gLua, it hurts my bones too much. I'm waiting for Sandbox.
I wonder if it's natural for all glua coders to burn out around the same time or it's the imminent release of S&box making it feel like a waste of time. Pretty sure everyone is already pretty much over gmod expecting S&box to be released. Gonna be a real slap on the face if something happened to the development...
Agree, after working 6 months with C# .NET, i hate how coding in lua is.
Recently was making a hud (style from Shadow of Mordor). Experimented with material animations. Minimap isn't done, used RT camera for now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10_LT6HB_BA And if someone waiting for the led-screens I posted last time, they gone be released soon.
I love to code in Lua, I've been doing it since 2011 and haven't stopped since then...I do C#, but I just don't feel comfortable as i do with lua, so fuck sandbox, i don't give a single fuck about sandbox, I'm happy with garrysmod and it shitty engine
It's not that much of a bold statement, not like everyone here hates Gmod, we all know it's not perfect but we still decided to stick with it. It's like an abusive boyfriend. (Ok maybe not exactly like that) I don't hate glua outside of memes, I just want to see what a newer engine has to offer. Source is 15 years old and was last updated 6 years ago.
Did a thing with submaterials. It's not a lot, but I was pretty happy to get it working right. I also just learned how to make a model for the first time in blender. So that's what all that is.
why yes it's great for quick and immediate content creation, but there are many more amazing things you could do with a modern engine like Unity or Unreal. not saying you should stop doing what you like, but it might not hurt to expand your horizons a bit. I stopped working with gmod because of the constant performance pitfalls, missing bindings, and general restrictiveness. I'm not looking forward to sandbox either, because why would I want a dumbed-down version of unreal with source engine features stuffed into it. sorry don't mean to derail
S&box is a game itself, not an application to make games. You make gamemodes and scripts to play with other players, it's obviously not going to be as powerful as Unreal Engine 4 but if you wanted to make games then S&box is not made for that. It's also a hub for gamemodes to be displayed, I seriously doubt that if the creator of DarkRP made his own game based on the gamemode it's going to go somewhere. The thing I'm most excited for is multiplayer map making, imagine having 20 players working on a map at the same time.
The true base wars.
I have no such interest.
Was just an example but yeah, that proves my point thank you. For some reason I am more motivated in making gamemodes and scripts than making games themselves or programs.
I say the appeal in making gamemodes over holistic game design is that games like Garry's Mod and Sandbox have communities that build an ecosystem of assets, plugins, and addons that allows us to make much more than if every single aspect (characters, levels, sound) had to be assembled from scratch .
[A legend has connected] Seriously though, thanks for hours of fun.
where do i get my s&box beta key to prepare a nude alyx model pack
RIP this WAYWO, derailed to hell. There's probably enough content to start a new WAYWO now, would be a fresh start.

fine... https://youtu.be/08-FbxY_gvw
Been thinking about making a server based around the old concepts of Darkrp at it's best point(In some people's eyes) wish I could pick Falco's brain about the it thought.
I would love to post some work, but in my final year of university i hardly have time to eat let alone code
New WAYWO is here. Try to stop posting here April's things.
