Well, as it looks like my time to develop is up (As I mentioned up a few posts ago. (for the lazy; I'll be away/busy until thursday starting tomorrow.)) and what not, so I'm here to post my gamemode, PaintBallz. [U]Description:[/U] It's paintball deathmatch. Team with the most frags at the end of 6 minutes wins. Oh and as a side bonus thing, you can paint giant dicks using your paintball gun. [U]Features:[/U] - Menu thing (Not the esc menu, I'd never be a dick and replace that [I]UNLIKE SOME SERVERS[/I]...) - Mostly functional scoreboard. (I'll be honest, I have no fucking idea what will happen if you have more players than the scoreboard can handle without some sort of scrolly thing.) - 100% Non-Custom voice acting from everyone's favorite two face wrinkly employer. - Entity based paintballs. I'll be frank, I don't think there's any other way to do them (other than regular bullets). I also spent ~25% of the development time making these not break everything. - Very ~[I]minimalist/basic[/I]~ hud. (AKA I didn't have time to do anything other than vanilla HL2 hud + a thing at the top for showing team frags.) - Paint dicks on walls with paint. - Match end awards (Highest kills, Highest deaths + extra.) - Single round fun because I didn't have enough time to do multiple rounds! - Anti-Team kill. - Spawn protection. I've learned this week that a time restriction changes the way I code. Most noticeably, I give no fucks about commenting my code.
Oi, if some of you guys could test my gamemode right now to see if it was working that'd be nice. Someone on garrysmods.org was saying that it wouldn't give them the paintball gun.

If you shoot the wall relatively close together you can see the difference.

And I've already rewritten the AI to the point where it takes half the resources that the original AI used to take, the weapons are so much more polished, functional, and deliberate than the original, I even set up a file loading system for the maps The problem is, I just realized that when the judges pop this into the server, they're probably not going to remember to actually drop my supplied data files into the /data folder which are crucial for the gamemode working properly, so I added something to the file loading system that would let it load default map data from included lua files instead of text files. Too bad include() decided to break for this ONE SPECIFIC FILE and I can't for the life of me figure out why. If I don't find a workaround soon I'm going to have to hardcode the data into the gamemode.

Currently working on announcing a winner and finding a way to get that cat and postal's ass in... :v: Will post a new video soon, with audio this time. Also an annoying camera shaking bug that pops up for some people, some rounds and either disappears the round after or not at all. Send help. (If any of the non-judges want to try it out and help me iron out bugs or improve stuff, drop a PM)
We aren't that stupid, we know how to put your data files into the data folder.

Fucking hacks. And yes I did try resetting my game. Same issue, I assume its because the include was part of a gamemode hook as opposed to being outside of any functions like it usually is. Video I promised, with audio this time. Almost done, just need to add the hook that we need to call. I also think I managed to resolve the shaky camera bug, not entirely sure. Your objective is to push everyone else off the platform and be the last person standing. You have your Firemelon, which is a small radius push, and your forcepulse, which has a good radius and a strong push. (There were other weapons like mines and stuff but they kind of broke the pace of the game) Most of it is done, I just have some minor things left. As much as I hate to add to the list, I'm going to have to drop out. I decided to restart and recode my gamemode, this time leaving room for soft-code and future expansion, but doing so also means that I won't fit into the time constraint. For those interested in what I was going for, it was a Magicka gamemode, so elements and combo spells. I had 3 of the 4 base elemental spells and combos done in the first version, but when I reset, I'm back to about 1 out of the 4.
