Alright, I have updated the OP. Important note: You must have hook.Call("wgcc_fin_nextgamemode") at the end of your gamemode so everyone has a fair chance. You could risk loosing 10 pts.
Also a side note guys - It IS a Linux server, so what this means is all your file names need to be lowercase. Otherwise there will be issues.
That "Niandra Approved" badge is fabulous.
I might do it.
What's the max amount of players that may be connected?
What's the max amount of players that may be connected?
Probably just the judges will be able to connect + A few more important people
Five players [at time of posting] seems a bit too small for a decent game, but that's just me.
Also, for clarification,
2. When the gamemode is finished, your gamemode will call the wgcc_fin_nextgamemode hook and wait 5 minutes so the judges can fill out the Marking Criteria.
Do you mean like, waiting 300 seconds before calling "wgcc_fin_nextgamemode" or is it the other way around?

You just call the hook, I will do the timer on my end.

Alright, thanks.
On a side note, count me all in 100%. I have loads of time to kill.

It means that when your game finishes, you should call wgcc_fin_nextgamemode, however you shouldn't break everything on the server after that hook, because we will remain in game for a couple minutes in order to discuss and comment among ourselves, or allow us enough time to take notes in order to discuss it at a later point.
TLDR: Other way round.
Ugghhh Ninja.

I feel like this requirement should be "Once a match has ended, your gamemode should call the hook wgcc_fin_nextgamemode and stop doing anything ( i.e. Stop starting new rounds, etc )".
Edit: Ninja'd x 100
I agree, if our gamemodes end up being team-based it could really ruin the experience if there are only 2-3 people per team. Maybe open it up to people whole completed submissions/people who entered/randoms, or just start kicking people in the reverse of that order if judges need in?

Yeah, I agree.
I will try join the judges to play the gamemodes if I can make it, and I think anyone who entered should be free to join the game.
At the least record/stream the testing. My efforts will be for nothing if I can't watch people play.
Maybe open it up to people whole completed submissions
The gamemode should work all by itself without any maintenance (unless theres a config etc). If we have the person who submitted it in the server, they'll try and ask us to fix things etc and it'll just ruin the gamemode switcher addon's flow.
[editline] penis [/editline]
We'll just stream it like Willox Said.
I'm gonna suggest maybe you find a few more judges / players at least.
How long will the game go on before we call the end hook?
What state(s) do we call the hook from?
I'm gonna suggest maybe you find a few more judges / players at least.
How much more? Does anyone else wanna be a judge (You'll have to be trusted)?
How long will the game go on before we call the end hook?
Whenever you think its ready, we'll manually change the gamemode after 30 mins though because it would take too long though.
What state(s) do we call the hook from?
Server.
I know I'm separating questions into posts but I keep coming up with them.
It's fine as long as I have playtesters actively testing out my gamemode to iron out issues, but not collaborating on anything else, right?
I could be judge if nobody minds.
Can we have the source code of what the hook actually does so we can understand how to appropriately call it?
Can we have the source code of what the hook actually does so we can understand how to appropriately call it?
I havent even written the addon yet :0, ill do it tomorrow ( in ~10 hrs i will ).
I'll be a judge if no one minds but if its much of an issue I could just be a player to fill in a spot if its "Team based" or something
Ps. I can stream if needed
Put me down as a maybe. It really depends on whether I can come up with any ideas I am interested in that relate to the theme.
Well, I just had a great idea while taking a shower, lets just hope I can make it fit the theme.
I'll join!
bring it nerds
If possible I'd like to be a judge, if I'm not well know enough that's cool! Good luck all
I'd like to donate a $10 Steam game to the 1st place winner of this contest.
This is a pretty neat community event, and I'd love to see what you folks come up with.
I'd also be willing to become a judge for this contest as well, as I have some experience in programming and post regularly in the WAYWO programming thread.
Is using fretta allowed?
