Lack of interested? He made the competition in the first place and has even went farther to explain how he would like to do others and even offers the hosting for all the gamemodes that were in the competition? I would love for you to explain how he has shown lack of interest in the competition?
Guys, get a hold of your knickers and wait it out, sirsavary has already shown he has fully committed himself to this competition.

Let's not get in a fight here, but here's my reasoning why I think he's not shown enough interest:
You say he offered hosting, and you're totally right, he did! However, he didn't look up, or ask, how to set up each gamemode, even though most of the entries had requirements specified. As Nak said just today, the server for his gamemode is still configured wrongly. Moreover, it took OP ages to get it set up, and while I appreciate it takes a while to download the files, once it's done it's just loading them from a central place. I had to set up our server to allow people to play, and even after I'd set it up it took him a day or two to get his up.
As Pheonix states: "sirsavary has already shown he has fully committed himself to this competition", and as BigBadWilly says, "He made the competition in the first place [...]", and you're both right to an extent. he DID make the competition, and he HAS responded, what I'm saying is just he hasn't been interacting with the teams all that much, he hasn't been responding in a timely manner.
And perhaps most importantly, it has never been clearly exactly when the competition would start / end.
I have to say though I'm happy he IS holding the competition, it's just that he's not as engaging as would have been preferred from the initiator of such a competition.
Edit: Emphasis.
Hope this clarified my points.
Alright, managed to temporarily fix my PC's overheating issues using Aloe Vera. Not sure how long it will hold up so I'm going to try and make this as quick as possible.
1. Due to the overheating issues, I was unable to finish the review module. I can't compile any code without my PC shutting down :(
2. I'm currently working on a workaround that doesn't involve compiling any code, I'm thinking a Typeform survey or something along those lines. The alternative is extending the DLC phase from 2 to 4 weeks (it was to end September 2nd but if the people community would like I can extend it to the 16th). This was something that was voted on during the initial survey and the number of people for 2 weeks or 4 weeks was about 50/50, with 2 weeks having a slight lead.
3. I'm doubling the number of keys that were going to be handed out to make up for AMD's wonderful thermal design
Let me know what you guys think. I can read the thread from my phone but cannot reply. I am working on procuring a laptop so I don't need to rely on this PC. However, I'm getting new parts this weekend coming up so I guess I'll see how things go.
Apologies again for the delays, normally I have a spare laptop in case stuff like this happens but I loaned it out to a friend. Poor decision on my part. Here's another key in image format as a sign that I'm still dedicated / not bailing because I don't have any prizes:

What is it with these keys? They're probably just going towards people who didn't even participate in the contest. Stop wasting your money.

Just chill. He's done nothing but be up front and be generous from the get-go. He's just having some issues.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, so excuse me if it's been said before, but why do you need a binary module to review the gamemodes?

I didn't mean that in a dicky way at all. I'm just saying I think they should go towards the winners :/

I thought I remembered you Zeaga, you were on that TV show called My Sweet 16, good show but for the wrong reasons. Anyway SirSavary thanks for keeping us updated, your doing a fine job despite the issues.

He doesn't. He's just trying to come up with a new way of judging gamemodes, without any judges. Which is stupid given the delay. In fact it should have been done before starting the contest.
What is it with these keys? They're probably just going towards people who didn't even participate in the contest. Stop wasting your money.
The keys I've been handing out are worth less than $10. I have hundreds of keys and don't mind handing out a few in the thread. I'm pretty sure I've only handed out 3 so far.

No binary module is required to review the gamemodes.

I'll admit that I'm at fault for this bit. Rather than cranking out the code to handle reviewing I decided to spend some extra time on it to polish it and make it perfect. If I had skipped the polish I wouldn't be in this predicament right now.
I've secured a laptop to work off of today, I think I'll just pull an all nighter to finish up the code. Once I have that done I'll upload all the gamemodes and DLC so they can be reviewed. By the time everyone is awake tomorrow things should be good to go.

I don't understand. You were just talking about how you couldn't compile any code for a review module.
I still have a gamemode voting and rating plugin back from the GCC that was never used but is fully working, if you're interested i can send it to you

Sorry, conflicting terminology. The module I'm referring to is a component of Mod Mountain's website. I can write code but I can't actually compile / see how it runs.

That looks pretty interesting, could be of use in the next competition.

More like, could be of use right now..

Stop being obnoxious. SirSavary's under a lot of stress and doesn't need you riding his ass.

I was suggesting a solution that would alleviate the stress, and that's called riding his ass? Damn you PC society.
Do you not realize that the way you're wording things make you look like a total asshole?
Literally the amount of sass in those replies are the reason why everyone thinks you look like a condescending prick

We don't think he looks like one, We know he's one :/
the last time the public voted on winning gamemodes, games copying existing titles or basing themselves on 'lel pedobear' won over original content
don't use that unless you want 'popular' gmod trash to continue being the norm
This contest is so long overdue lol

The prize will make a great Christmas present for the winners.
Guy's you're being too kind.
[DEL]
On a serious note though, am I the only one to think an August contest shouldn't run well into September? (Regarding the 4-week DLC phase that is.)[/DEL]
Edit: Clearly can't read and didn't see there was a new page. Good to see I'm not the only one with concerns.
no shit it obviously shouldn't run so slow
regardless he's the one dishing out the primary source of prizes and doing all of the work in managing it, and has explained the delay
so why keep bitching?

I should have quoted them, but yeah I was addressing the people on the previous page that wanted to express their like of me.
I think it's safe to say OP abandoned the contest?
I'm talking to SirSavary. Hes continuing the contest so don't worry guys.
I hope it's still running, I just wish he'd talk to us all on here, as we've seen he can.
That being said the chances are sadly getting slimmer.. :/

Take a quote from the great Arnold Schwarzenegger and stop whining.
