There will be updates when he posts and gives updates
Thanks Captain Obvious, I was thinking more along the lines of if anybody had managed to get a hold of him.
Thanks Captain Obvious, I was thinking more along the lines of if anybody had managed to get a hold of him.
Still goes with what I earlier said, Something would of been posted about it since he would want to keep us updated, My best suggestion is to just wait till someone comes back with news
Even I was faster than this!
All that shows is you shouldn't host the competition if you don't have the time
I kinda feel like the OP isn't coming back - I hope not, those donations by generous communities would go to waste.
There are a few things these competitions have taught me: - Gamemodes take more time to make. Shouldn't be less than 4 weeks or you'll end up with 'unwanted' results. (Unwanted as in; could need more content) - Creators love feedback. I just started on my old gamemode as a friend asked for it. Keep poking the teams or ask about the project. - Judges might be a better idea to use. They give a faster result and it's easier to set an end-day. - Give it 2-3 weeks before starting the competition. In the meantime try spread the word. Might even be a youtuber who want to join on the judging day. - Have the prizes ready BEFORE you start. Hell, post a picture of them to tease the teams. Bonus: - Donators love to get their name out. Having a youtuber will ensure a larger pile of awards from communities.
I think JetBoom will win... Can't wait <3
We should really just let this thread die. It's almost October. It's over.
To be far the guy hasn't been on his steam account for a while.
To be far the guy hasn't been on his steam account for a while.
How is that in any way fair? He knows he's hosting a competition and has demonstrated that he can use both Steam and Facepunch. He's bailed. There's nothing more to it.

It was simply a too short time-span we had and I'm not sure if the donators was please with the outcome.

rip </3 Obviously he has left the project in the dirt, prolly on a different steam account also.
I wouldn't blame him. He got tossed toxic messages at him when he returned last time.
Do you mean on Facepunch or on Steam? I don't think people were all that harsh in this thread.
Do you mean on Facepunch or on Steam? I don't think people were all that harsh in this thread.
Steam is what he is talking about and I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't logged on solely because of it
Steam is what he is talking about and I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't logged on solely because of it
Sure, But he left a lot of people in the dust and a lot of time that people might have felt was wasted now that the gamemode contest seems like its at a standstill. (not justifying the toxicity)
Sure, But he left a lot of people in the dust and a lot of time that people might have felt was wasted now that the gamemode contest seems like its at a standstill. (not justifying the toxicity)
Sure the gamemodes didn't get judged and people didn't get prizes but people at least made some pretty good looking gamemodes
How about we finish off the work for him? That way everyone's happy? Obviously he will still get bad rep for it
How about we finish off the work for him? That way everyone's happy? Obviously he will still get bad rep for it
what do you mean. anyway its a cuntish thing to leave the contest like that. most of the gamemode authors weren't even being toxic towards him.
what do you mean. anyway its a cuntish thing to leave the contest like that. most of the gamemode authors weren't even being toxic towards him.
Well I havn't been keeping up with the thread much but maybe unofficially judge the gamemodes/dlc and the winners get their prizes?
I donated $30 hoping for a good and organized competition. I was wrong. At least the host is a very nice guy. :)
Just a heads up, just in case anyone is thinking of trying - give it a few months or more for people to cool down before hosting another event. I actually have interest in hosting a competition, but after the two ones we just had everyone needs a cool down period. If I end up being the host for a future one, I can promise that I don't plan on disappearing.

The faster the better so people can forget about this competition. Just remember to give everyone a fair deadline and a few weeks notification before the starting day. Take a few notes from the suggestion-list I made. Would also be awesome if someone could stream on the judging day(Not sure if I can, I bet it'll be PDT timezone again).

People have winter break, and as a result can spend more time on it. Only issue I thought of is if people have family obligations. Edited: If people are interested in one here soon, I'm already planning it. Expect a thread in a day or so.
