No, because that would be showing you how my backdoors and other nasty things you shouldn't know about work
Not as if your DRM is any use anyway.

So I hear anyway.

It's really not a good idea using that many locals in a hook.Call override Conna.
I'll go for the TF2 Gamemode. I think _Kilburn finally deserves something after all that work.
People are still flaming Conna? Ahaha jesus.

Welcome to three years ago.
Damn, i was hoping to vote for Tiramisu. :smith:
Anywho, voted for TF2.
Yeah... which is why all linux builds don't work, right?
Which is why 80.99% of all computer users use Windows, while only 1.49% use Linux.
Linux is nice in some aspects but in this case we can clearly see how the market based product has the biggest popularity.

Not really, the reason Linux is less popular than Windows is because it can't run a lot of Windows programs that people are used to, like Microsoft Office. (Wine isn't a perfect solution)

Which will be why I found 13 servers running the purchased OpenAura, with a groundbreaking total playercount of 8!
There's not many people affording to buy Open Aura, and that's why less servers use it.
The reasons for Servers' traffic are a lot more complexed. Server traffic doesn't necessary increase just because you've got a certain gamemode.
The driving forces to keep an inactive server if you payed 150€ for it are a lot higher than usually.

Well, apparently the market based product is inferior to the open source product DarkRP, which is running on no less than 30% of GMod's servers.
Even through your DRM, there are still releases of all the OpenAura gamemodes.

Have you ever heard of backdoors in OpenAura? No? Shh then. There are no backdoors in my sold scripts, just DRM.

Actually no, only 1.07. Nobody has managed to crack 1.08 or 1.09 yet :)
Actually no, only 1.07. Nobody has managed to crack 1.08 or 1.09 yet :)
Provide a download link and I'm sure someone would be kind enough to crack it for you - since 1.07 was "uncrackable" too.
ITT: Conna vs. the world.
openAura 1.07 has bad and easily bypassable DRM and i'm pretty sure that 1.08 is the same thing.

Yeah, you guys are dumb!
Just take a look at the video game industry, everybody knows that after pirates crack the DRM written by professional programmers working for EA, one of the biggest game publishers and DRM producers in the industry,
they can only play it until its patched, then they're totally unable to crack the other DRM's!
Also why did you name OpenAura "Open" Aura? Open as in its open to abuse remotely by you whenever you feel like your customers dont love you enough?
Why do people even pay for roleplay gamemodes anyway? They are so terribly boring I wouldn't play them even if I was paid to do so.
Well, maybe, depends how much people would pay me for that. :v:
[editline]8th February 2011[/editline]
Well, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to diss your gamemode, Conna, actually I have nothing against you, even though you do appear to be very imbued of your own person. Just talking about roleplay gamemodes in general and how people go all drama over them. That's something I'll probably never understand. :v:
Roleplay is not for everyone.
Rated N for noone :v:
I think roleplaying grows exponentially 'cause the more people that rp the more people will think "If so many play it there must be something good about it, right?" and so they start playing, not really knowing what they're doing there but they keep on playing in hope of eventually "getting it" and thus, unknowingly, contribute their part to the big organism that is (Dark)RP.
When ever I play roleplay servers I see them as base-war servers and due to this I normally get banned very fast

I ask how to buy guns and then buy said gun, go to a rooftop and freeze in mid air and shoot some gangsters... what's wrong with that? The police weren't doing a good job of keeping them under control, so I saved the server by killing them all.
Kicked by Console: "Aimbotting + RDM"

Not trying to defend the RP in someway, but you apparantly did RDM, since you killed a bunch of people without reason. Sure you could somehow get some weapon IRL, but would you go around murder innocent people in the town?

yes:geno:
but would you go around murder innocent people in the town?
Gangsters aren't innocent.. if I saw them trying to rob an old lady or whatever I wouldn't kill them as such, but I wouldn't just stand by with my gun looking cool and waiting for payday to magically from $45 in my pocket.
Truth is, the RP community has been absolutely and entirely destroyed by OpenAura and similar, and by a lesser degree by DarkRP. It has been made into just a series of popularity contests and cliques over scripts, over population, over content. Few RPers nowadays actually play at all, and when they do, it's this bastardized, overly formal, almost religious form that lacks the entire aspect of FUN you're expecting from a GAME.
I'm in no way implying that Tiramisu will instantly better anything, in fact, I have to admit removing Tiramisu from the competition is little more than means to an end, I just wanna make a change, you know? A change for the better, and maybe the solution isn't related to Tiramisu at all. But I do know something, I wanna bring the game back in gamemode right, I invite developers to stop taking Lua scripting as some sort of second job.
Let's make GMod developing fun again, shall we?
PERP, and "backinthedays" Orange Cosmos were the last good RP communities (Maybe TnB).

You seem pretty secure about the future, huh?
I salute _Kilburn and his TF2 Gamemode!
