Greatest idea ever it would be good for roleplaying.
My ideas: Human rocket (gets killed and corpse flies high up in the air) Quick sand (player slowly clips through world until submerged, then dies) Radiation Lol:v: (player bursts in flames, flies forward at incredible speed and explodes when he/she hits something, all while spontaneously emitting bouncy ball sents) Sawblade (player gets hit in the back with a sawblade)
I have a great idea, if you could somehow tie this in with the player control swep then you could do rage. Rage would cause a random player to track down and kill the person of choice.
I'm a little less busy now. That means I can work on this a little more now. :D

I suggested this a few days ago and just found out its been a project for awhile. I am grateful and will wait for as long as it takes. Keep up the good work.

So.. Suicide? :raise: An idea I would have would be to have them, I dunno, fall apart? There is that [url=http://garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=41062]Dismember Mod[/url], though I haven't tried it out it seems to make them lose body parts in a bloody mess.. um..

For suicide, maybe you can have the victim equip the Suicide Knife (some object floatind around the servers) and then automatically use it. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Ok I have an idea for a death. Its called Enlightenment. The person who is going to die will get lots of bloom on their screen, then text would come up on the screen that would say " the meaning of life is ______(feel free it be creative)" and right after that they die of a heart attack.Ooh, suggestions are fun.

Alright, I showed this thread to a friend of mine that knows everything about Death Note, and he instantly barraged me with suggestions and corrections... and immediately told me to post them. I'm just saying what he said. Suggestion for causes of death: Suicide option-->If you want variety, break up into categories: self drowning, self mutilation, etc. (hanging) Falling object (from plane? Though a tad cartoony) disease--> Dies from a disease (slightly slow death) Accident-->Hit by car, etc. Magic (if possible/just for the hell of it.) Notes on the Death Note: Also note that any impossible death instantly becomes a heart attack. (Like if an accident can't happen, a person simply dies of a heart attack.) Note that the death note cannot be used to cause a person to kill someone else or be killed by someone else, cept by an accident that is caused by the one written to die. This usually falls under "accident." Therefore, the NPC cannot be directly responsible for person's death. If he runs from the NPC and then get hit by a car, it is fine. Additionally, while it doesn't affect the notes' ability, the Death Note can also be the colors blue and red. Notes on Shinigami: Shinigami can be both male and female, but this is not used for any purpose except to distinguish sexes. Shinigami only die if they extend life on purpose. This usually occurs when a shinigami falls in love. The death of any character will affect the life spans of others. Intending the death of one for the benefit of another who the shinigam life causes death of the shinigami, but the effect still happens. Once a person's name is written, it cannot be changed. Shinigami can never kill at the whim of the death note owner. And, if a name is written in one death note, the person is cannot be retargeted by a different note (even a Shinigami's note. It wouldn't count.) While distracting in some parts of play, it might be fun to be able to opt to see a minor description telling what would have actually been written. The death note would normally let the writer choose a time of death. (But I know, game limits.) ... I don't know how much or if any of this is possible, but here it is. It never hurts to have two more cents in the jar.

Plenty of people here are devoted Death Note fans as well.

It's still helpful because it's pretty much everything in a couple paragraphs. [b]Edit:[/b] Hey I finally got death-by-physics to start working! It needs a lot of polishing though. All it does so far is drop a car on you. :D

I don't know if this has been suggested, but if you can make it, Shinigami vision would be cool. Basically, it would show you the names and HP of every player/NPC within your field of vision (you don't have to hold the reticle over them) in exchange for half of your HP (taken when first activated).
I wouldn't say I'm a devoted Death Note fan, but I do like the show. (I've only seen to episode 33 of dubbed, since I could only find up to half way through episode 32 dubbed online, and I saw the next one on TV) Go, Light! Bring down those thiefs! :D (unless they're starving and nobody will give them a job just because they have a missing ear or something)

Think about it, half of your abilities wouldn't have any use. ;)

Who posted the heart attack sounds? I can't find them. I finally got deaths working too! [b]Edit:[/b] Things are starting to work, but I'm getting a problem. Kill Icons aren't working right. For instance, when a car hits someone. Currently, it's the owner of the death note that's creating this car SENT. It needs to be the owner who's killing and right now it says that the SENT is killing. I've tried hooking [noparse]GM:PlayerDeath, GM:AddDeathNotice, and GM:DrawDeathNotice[/noparse] in an autorun script, but I'm sure that there's a better way to do this. I'm just not sure what. :(
