The rules aren't that strict. I have a lot of experience with getting banned. In fact I believe this is my 5th account the rest got permanently banned.
You'll find they are. And only 5?
Back to the main point, if Cakescript is derived from base, that means it is an edit of another gamemode.
Back to the main point, if Cakescript is derived from base, that means it is an edit of another gamemode.
No, you specifically said "Other than base". Base isn't a gamemode anyway, you can't exactly do anything in it. All it does is provide set functions incase we're too lazy to write them.
lemmiwinkz you're obviously too stupid to comprehend simple logic. I can write my own gamemode in 5 minutes that isnt based off of anyone elses. It wont be fabulous in 5 minutes, but the point is that yes, there are gamemodes out there that are 100% original, and you look like an absolute fool trying to prove FlapJack of all people wrong. And if you're really going to get technical and bitch about deriving from base and sandbox then its clear you're so arrogantly stupid theres no point in trying to show you why you're wrong, you'll just come up with some pseudo logic to convince yourself in your head that you're right and everyone around you that is smarter, more experienced and more logical, are just lying because we dont like you.
The only thing more pointless than arguing about who's the dumbest is doing it on the internet, now stop it! Both of you:devil:
By (except base) I meant base counts as being the only gamemode not derived from another. And it is a gamemode because it is playable, you get guns and you can run around and shoot.

And it is a gamemode because it is playable, you get guns and you can run around and shoot.
Funny thing is, with a little reverse engineering, almost any well constructed gamemode can run without deriving from base. Why? Because the only reason we all derive from base is because it's done automatically.

Now take your tongue out his ass long enough to make a proper post. ^ that's how you get banned for flaming. [editline]10:06PM[/editline] Ok i'm done here now I wait for my ban.
^ that's how you get banned for flaming.
I think you'll find this is how you do it properly. Edit: Ok.
In fact I believe this is my 5th account the rest got permanently banned.
You'd think you learned.
This
You iz smart.
Thanks Im flattered.
Well on the point of offering something have any of the scripters seen my offer of cold hard cash for scripting a perma prop tool for my server that saves welds and wire bascly I want an advanced dup that saves the xyz and all details of the contraption the spawns that when the server loads. Offering £25-£35 GBP for completed job. My thread is in the requests section. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=969403
I seriously don't get it. People make these kind of threads and get laughed at by the rest of the section. Still, these threads come in a constant stream, I mean wtf? Does every kid have the same idea in their head (make me an DarkRP edit, it's gonna be awezum) or do they get the idea from all the other identical threads, blindly ignoring the fact that ever single one of them ended up in catastrophy and shame for the OP? I just don't know the world anymore:geno:
Personally, if I was Garry I would have pulled a stunt by now by disabling DarkRP from running altogether for at least one day, just to see the community's response and backlash, then unblacklist it shortly after saying it was a bug keeping certain gamemodes from loading.
Nobody's going to bother coding for a DarkRP server.
FPtje. Did you forget him? :( Seriously, not even he will help you.

I just don't know the world anymore:geno:
Seconded. Shitloads of "I need a coder for a gamemode" or "I need a coder for DarkRP" or even worse, "I'll pay you for some coding skills". They never, ever realize that everyone hates those threads. And every single one of these posts have bad grammar/spelling.
I dont feel the grammar, spelling can really be a judge of a person, I'm dyslexic and prone to horrible spelling and grammar, to be honest wouldnt be suprised if I had already made a mistake in this sentence but that doesnt mean anything about me or my ability to pay for a script or my ability to understand how lua works, but yes effects my postings but not my bank account balance. Am I a child.. no I'm 25 (yes I know a old man compared to a lot of the people playing gmod) do I have time to learn lua... not really am I willing to exchange the money I earn for experience in lua coding... yes isnt that how the economy works after all. I dont want to kill a pig , but that wont stop me paying someone else to provide me with bacon and the same applies to these sort of threads. I cant code and can't be bothered to learn, I just dont have the spare time in my life to learn another programming language so I offer money to those that do to do the work I dont want to which basicly means I work to earn the money, someone else works to earn my money from me and I'm sure after them someone else will work to get that money from them. So lets not start branding everyone with the same brush just because they make a request after all is that why we have a community? it enables others to pass on info or in the event the info isnt already available either work to make it or pay someone else to do it. Admittedly this is also why I offer to use rent a coder for all my projects as the money is kept in escrow so if the coder doesnt finish or provide the work I can get the cash back and the same goes in reverse if they complete the work and I dont pay they can alert the company and they will ban my account so I cant hire anyone else and as I work for a company and use rac to get most my coding work done thats just not worth the hassel to not pay someone for completed work.
stuff
Incase you didn't see, he wasn't willing to pay. That's why shit hit the fan.
Incase you didn't see, he wasn't willing to pay. That's why shit hit the fan.
Ahh well then what does he expect you cant expect anyone to work for free, people dont do things out of the goodness of their hearts anymore they do it for greed or some form of gain beyond the satidfaction of a job well done
Ahh well then what does he expect you cant expect anyone to work for free, people dont do things out of the goodness of their hearts anymore they do it for greed or some form of gain beyond the satidfaction of a job well done
Well, depends really. I do small things for free, or things for my community - or things I release. But specific requests - moreso large ones, they're not something that can be expected to be done for free.
Totally agreed to be honest I never expect anyone to work for free, I wouldnt unless obviously I have something to gain in return if that be money or respect, privileges, etc its all still something and thus not working for free the question really is price that the person is willing to accept but with kids I think they need to realise unless they can do it themselves or have financial backing there is no point in even trying.
