I do plan to improve this even more by adding tweening where you can put gaps between keyframes and the engine will insert frames for you, completing the gaps, resulting in better animation.
:) Oh, I should see if Xef wants to help with the GUI. That dude is like a GUI master. (Though I doubt he's ever done timelines before. :))
Can I have it please? :v: :q:
Can I have it please? :v: :q:
No, not yet. Soon though ;)
I do plan to improve this even more by adding tweening where you can put gaps between keyframes and the engine will insert frames for you, completing the gaps, resulting in better animation.
Maybe you could also disable the ragdoll's gravity and set a slight velocity to each physics object toward the next keyframe. (based on the distance away it is and how much time until that keyframe) Or even better: You could make tweening automatically create a keyframe for every 0.05 seconds. And maybe let it work on props too?
Or even better: You could make tweening automatically create a keyframe for every 0.05 seconds.
Working on that.
Working on that.
Well, if there's a keyframe for every 0.05, there's no point in setting velocity because a frame is rendered in approximately 0.05 seconds.
Cool. You are lua King! :v:
Man, this is pure awesomeness, I hope it'll be released soon. By the way, does it lag much?
Man, this is pure awesomeness, I hope it'll be released soon. By the way, does it lag much?
I strongly doubt it does.
Fucking amazing. I can't believe no one had thought of this before.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. I want It, now.
Fucking amazing. I can't believe no one had thought of this before.
Who says we haven't?
Very nicely done.
Fucking amazing. I can't believe no one had thought of this before.
Seriously. I know me and cop have. I'm sure many others have, too.
Seriously. I know me and cop have. I'm sure many others have, too.
And yet, who's creating it? :v: Ideas mean little if you don't come through with them. Though you guys are good enough you could have probably done it. Well if you like the idea, guys, I bet Hx has some things you could help him with.
:krad: Can't wait!

They just didn't think it would be this popular/amazing. I think this has it's uses, but I'm not interested in posing at all myself.
Will this support the numpad? So it will animate only once when you click a numpad-key. If not,Please add that,By the way..Nice job there!

Left click would add a frame, right click would add a prop. At least that's what I say. I have full faith that you'll come up with a great way of getting it all integrated.

I might make a toolmode for it at some point.
Well, I think once this gets farther into it's uber stages, you need to add a timeline. You must have seen one in flash, or 3ds max or most movie editing programs. Then you need to get easing, or non-linear tweening. I know several methods of doing this. If you need help, just pm me. Or look up Bézier curves. I'm pretty sure that is what all of the mainstream programs use.
This would be good for making movies. If you want an explosion all you have to do is to punt something up in the air.ect :v:
I swear, i was JUST thinking of posting a request for something like this... That was weird... Anyway, good stuff!
Onionskin, yes. Tweening does not nececarily make a better animation.
Awesome!, This is what I was looking for! Lua king! :eng101:
I don't believe you! It's not even released :) Nice tool though.
And yet, who's creating it? :v:
Things take time - ultimately, it takes a fair bit of dedication and planning before something large can be undertaken. I have more than enough ideas and even work-in-progress developments - some of which would be very popular I'm sure - but even if you are capable of doing something, sometimes it's difficult to gather up the passion/willpower to get the ball really rolling. Some scripters make it really difficult for the rest of us because they appear to have an infinite supply of time; I know I'm not the only scripter who feels time is always against them.
That and you guys ultimately just want Sandbox addons/spinoffs and more pointless roleplay scripts, neither of which I enjoy making. I make things, people don't take an interest - so my 'motivation' is a bit low.
And, yeah, I thought about doing this at one point, although I may have just stumbled across a request thread asking for something of this kind.

I know exactly what you mean. They are too many ideas, and not enough people who know how to bring them to life. Still, it looks like this idea is going to finally materialize due to the good work of Hxrmn, and all the better. If you guys have any ideas, please mention them! :) Your ideas are most valued, and your knowledge of implementing them makes them much more likely to be put in. Of course it's all up to Hx. How's it coming Hx?
Beautiful! I have had this idea for a long time, I am sure a lot of people did, but never got around to learning LUA. Good show man! I only conceptualized it so my question might be completely off base if that isn't how it works. My relevant question is, when using meta-table to store the bone positions, can you interpolate between the positions through calculations? I am thinking this is the tweening that you have posted about. That would be kick ass. Also it would be amazing if you can save animations, even upload the mod with a library of preexisting ones like "walking with variable movement in upperbody (make it realistic)" and other such things. Way to go! Here is to wishing the best for the mod's future!
Of course it's all up to Hx. How's it coming Hx?
It's coming along fine, I have a couple annoying bugs I'm working out. Battle Bott is going to be working on the Tweening system.
Beautiful! I have had this idea for a long time, I am sure a lot of people did, but never got around to learning LUA. Right now what I'm doing is storing the physics objects not the bones. This lets me get the velocity/angle/position and other useful physics things. :P
