There is a clientside way of reenabling it. Anyway, HLSS/HLDJ is annoying and I'm glad the majority of kids are now unable to play their "meme-shit" via voice.

I can understand blocking it for the people that do abuse, but I still think there should be a convar to toggle allowing it to avoid the bitching about not being able to use hlss or the bitching about people using hlss incorrectly.
Also knowing there is a way to do it clientside gives me somthing to do for a while now :D

Recreate that cvar and the engine will use it. Even possible with bare lua. (not tested).
Easiest way for garry to remove voice-spam would be "not" removing it (otherwise, lua-coders could recreate it). It would be flagging it FCVAR_CHEAT.

You need to somehow force the client to run the command as if the user had type it, There doesn't seem to be any shortcuts like console commands available anymore which would allow running the resricted commands through them. And the filters doesn't appear to be so shitty anymore, which means they don't allow running any commands which include any of the blacklisted ones.
of course you can try corrupting the game but you're most likely going to crash or freeze it, which really destroys the purpose. unless of course you're trying to escape it outside the game.

Not even necessary. Use CreateClientConvar. I suggested it a few posts before and got a PM on it being successful.
Garry: Better add voice_inputfromfile again and flag it FCVAR_CHEAT. This will prevent at least "the common folks" from using it. (Still exploitable by a module though).

Ah, ok. This was only a guess. Anyway, recreate it with a binary. Might work since voice-com is build-in the engine and not in the mod (afaik), so that part of the engine actually just does a check on g_pCVar->FindVar("voice_inputfromfile")->GetValue() == 1.
actually aVoN i think it might be possible to do with just lua, yesterday i was messing around and eventually got to the point where it was saying "cannot set voice_inputfromfile while connected" with just lua. I stopped tho and started working on a module tho just to see if i could anyway :/
With a module, it's definitely possible to create this convar. It sounds surprising to me, that it doesn't seem to work with pure lua.
