Do clients need it installed, or am I safe to just put it on the server?
Clients will just download it from the server. However, Any custom textures and they can't see it.

No they will see black and pink chequers lol but they will not at all with any of this installed as it auto dl's skyrocket materials so they can see it :) and also the map i am currently hosting on is a good map freespace06_v2night. :D
When I right click nothing happens, but I can create rockets by left clicking.
Right click on the rocket once you have created a rocket.
You should add a save function, so you can save your firework. - Oh, and I don't really understand those orange things which you connect to each other. when you're pressing new star, this orange thing appears, which you can connect to another orange thing. I've tried creating circles with them and such, but I don't see anything happening really Can someone tell me how to use it ? :) - I do know how to create kick-ass fireworks, but I don't unerstand that little system there ;)
ok i hope foszor does not mind but i set up a channel in IRC that is up now and the channel name is called #pyroteknix ok now foszor when you join i will happily make you @ with me. :D Thank You (also on a side note i have made 2 more effects but i am sure we can talk about that foszor if you want to add totster to your steam friends)

And saving fireworks would be amazing, it's a real hassle to have to save them on adv. dupe, and then they die when you leave the server.

You can use the standard duplicator for short term saving.

The whole ulx menu doesn't respond, you can click but nothing happens. it gives no error message so either you could install ulx 3.11 and your stool and see what happens or get someone to give you the info.

But at the top left of the menu, it has an extra button saying "button".
It also messes with the stargate keyboard but it don't worry me because i removed stargate as i don't exactly use it all the time :) i would much rather keep pyroteknix. :D (also still noone has joined #pyroteknix oh well.)
I'm working on the saving features, but I need some input on another semi-related subject. I'm considering turning the skyrockets into placeholders; similar to the prop spawner. When you trigger the rocket, it "duplicates" itself, and launches the copy, keeping the original firework in place where you can modify it still. Does this sound like a good idea, or do you guys like firing off the actual rocket?
have it so you that you can either save the last settings, or make a "Experimental" stool and your stars and what not are not messed up.

Not really, It's cool when the object itself flies away. Else you could just spam the sky with one rocket. I think a save is better.
Maybe make it a toggle option to make it a palceholder or just launch the actual rocket. Also, could you add a numpad trigger for it? So you can watch from far away and not have to run in to launch each one.
