I've been working on this thing for far too long, and I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this because it's hindering me in the other projects I would like to do. I would really like to have some form of release, probably SVN, by the end of the month. I've basically been working nonstop on this thing lately. Considering this is largely a one-man project I don't think I'm doing terribly bad. Played with it . Extremely fun , and props , that you dont expert to work work . But lots of effects are missed , the most noticeable one is the flame-thrower effect

I've made a new steam group for Scavenger Deathmatch, and I'll be updating with group announcements and events as developments arise. [url]http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ScavDM[/url] While I did mention that I would LIKE to have an SVN release soon I never made any promises, and rightly so, because I don't think it's really appropriate given this stage in development. I still want to get a release soon, though, so if you want info this group is your best bet of tracking progress. I'll also continue to update this thread, but expect fewer of them than the group.

The new Black Hole Gun is available on the TGA server (69.197.189.16:27015). Be sure to restart your game after joining the server for the first time so your client can register the particle effects, fonts, and render targets.

Under normal circumstances I don't mind helping people if they're having trouble with my addon, especially so I can find out what's wrong and fix the problem, but what you're doing right now is making me NOT want to help you. If you can manage to simmer down I'd like to look into the issue.

Since you downloaded the render targets from the server (which happens AFTER your gmod is already loaded), you have to restart gmod so it can load the render targets when you start up gmod again. This should have been changed with the recent patch, with GetRenderTarget() being updated to create new RTs if they're not found, but for whatever reason it sounds like it's not working that way. The same goes for OB particle effects, since they are only loaded when the game starts but downloaded when you join the server. So either way, you're going to have to restart your game. That's not on me, that's just how gmod/source works.
Are you still thinking about making the SVN for the Scavenger Guns? Anyway, keep the development going!

cant wait for this :P i normally go on and off of garrysmod but with this i'll be on for a very long time edit: tried the server, doesnt work : / i entered, left and entered again, and still no particle effects (but i can see the screens, change the color,etc) the only effects i see is the smoke from a launched object, and some weird light that occurs whenever u do something. I tried deleted the cache, downloads, and tried the lua_temp (but oddly, there wasnt one : /) and i also reinstalled gmod but that didnt help. Any ideas? or can someone compile a particle folder or something for me?
Leaving the server and rejoining isn't enough. You need to completely restart gmod (exit the whole game, and start it up again through steam, no ifs ands or buts about it you HAVE to do it). If you reinstalled gmod then that means you lost the particle file you just downloaded with the reinstall and had to download it again, which means you still have to restart gmod. There was also a problem, however, that someone was having that gave them corrupt particle files. Check your garrysmod/particles folder and check for scav_particles91.pcf. It should be 185 KB. If that is not the filesize, you need to delete the file and try downloading it from the server again. scav_altguns4.pcf should also be 78KB and scav_muzzleflashes should be 33KB.
Well most of the effects work so i guess thats all that matters, just explosions, flamethrower, and the sonic wave thing don't work. On a more related note: -Will you be creating a list of all of the firemodes? -Need an extra beta tester? :P
