It's shoot, screen, sees, and Amazing. And for god's sake USE SOME DAMN PERIODS! Get better grammar, spelling, and then come back here.
You should make it that you can either wire button's to the barraks or have a numpad toggle button so that you can tell it when to start spawning.
I made a base of red warmelon's and at the other side of construct I made a blue base.
But just as I spawned the blue barracks, the red's were already charging in.
Edit:
Can someone tell me how to get the red error lines under my mistakes? I find them really helpfull in improving my grammar

You only get the red underline if you have a spelling mistake.
But if they disappear more often as you type, it is an indication that your grammar has improved!
Halo, your grammar is fine, you just need to fix your spelling a bit. Then your smartness will take a massive jump into positive smartness town!
Ok. Thanks for the help Killer and Tibbles.
Is Mega Jhonny actually looking at his thread now? I haven't seen him post in here for a while.
I'm still here, but unfortunately I've lost a lot of my drive for the Warmelons recently. I'll try and slap together a laser melon or a flechette melon or something. Laser melon would be a bit harder because... Well, you wouldn't really understand if you didn't know Lua yourself. But I'll figure it out.

I remember finding a fan made Warmelon where there was an Artillery melon, machinegun melon, and a "piolet" melon. Not sure what the piolet did, but you should try to make these.
Also, I noticed something a little annoying when melons that fly on their own (not attached to props) will not really shoot at other melons. They chase eachother in a big ring. If the shape was more of a ball, they would brobably fight. You could either try to fix their spin in a circle and hope to catch up but never do problem or make their weapons have a longer range so when they fly, they can kill.
One more thing-
Would an Anti-Air melon be possible? (In the style of 1 round every .5 seconds fired and a long range to shoot melons out of the sky on aproach)
Just a question, do they only attack if they can see eachother? IE: A Blue warmelon won't attack a Red warmelon if it's behind a wall. I haven't been using it long enough to actually notice.

yes, they only attack/ move if they have a line of sight to an enemy.
In the current version, the melons are modified to have very smooth movement, as opposed to before, when they would jerk forward every time they 'thought'. The downside is that they are slightly laggier. They still only search for targets as often as they shoot. Do you want me to keep the new smooth movement or keep them as they are?
I think a flechette melon would be awesome. It would be like the Cannon but shooting flechettes.
I think that the commanding tool needs at least 2 more options.
1) Which team to command.
2) "All" command option.
What I mean by "All" is that it targets all of the melons on your team. Sometimes I find myself trying to get all my melons in one place by Left Click here and Right Click there.
Barracks could use a set limit. After there are [insert melon limit] melons in the battlefield, they won't produce any more until one of the produced melons die.
Also I was playing with a friend yesterday and for some reason, our melons hardly attacked each other, they went for the barracks first then went to kill each other last, they were still a bit slow on attacking though.
EDIT: I think you should keep the smooth movement Johnny.
That's what the barracks already do - the max is 14. And they won't produce anymore until one of them is destroyed.
The laser I mentioned earlier, it's working but I've yet to add sound and sometimes they're a little broken.
I think that the barracks literally spams warmelons, they have to be nerfed.
Also, barracks spawned melons home against props, but don't engage other warmelons encountered while travelling .
EDIT: Also, I've made lots of custom warmelons for my personal use. Does anybody want them ?
Would a "selection bubble" be possible to add to the command tool? It is hard to tell which melons are within the command tool's selection area.
Selection bubble would need a custom sprite/effect/stuffs I think, I've never saw something similar.

The barracks are fine just the way they are. They don't spam at all. If they spammed, they would shoot out hundreds of melons very rapidly. If you don't like the barracks, simply don't use it or make a new one for yourself.
Just like how I wanted a scout so I copied the light fighter melon files, edited them, and there I have a scout.
it's good

I did modify them, but in most of servers they are still vanilla.
The thing i hate the most is them instantly spawning a warmelon after the last one is dead, there should be a cooldown.
I want to fight someone in a melonwar. Preferably on flatgrass. Any servers?
I'm glad to see an update (even though I'm three weeks out of date on this).
This is a lot of fun. There's been times where I had all four factions going at it, on hugeflatconstruct.
I'd definitely like to get on a server, and duke it out with another human.
I'm concerned that my crappy computer would lag things to death, or something.
Quick note about the laser melon's targeting system. It thinks every 2 seconds, and if it has a target then it will fire a 1.5 second burst from its laser. At the moment it only updates the laser's actual target position each 2 seconds, so if the target melon moves away it will keep lasering that point until the laser is turned off. Therefore, the laser is weaker against moving targets such as infantry, and strong against static forces such as base defences, or slow moving battleships (as it will be able to slice through the other props as the enemy ship moves)
Is everyone happy with that or should I change it?
Edit:
Well, I think everything's ready for R10. The only thing I haven't covered is the barracks units giving that error when they die and there's no barracks. Actually with a little mod I did about 10 seconds ago that should be fixed. Give me a few minutes and I'll get it up.
Edit:
There we go.
Notes.
REMOVE THE OLD WARMELON FOLDER BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW ONE. But if you forget to backup any custom melons that were in that folder it's not my fault.
Bind a key to +wmselect and you can drag spheres around melons with that key to select them. Then bind another key to wmorder and give them move orders. Much better to use than the STOOL, especially if you have >3 buttons on your mouse.
I personally think that it'd be better for the laser melon to fire a shorter burst, and perhaps think a little quicker, but have a longer period before it can fire again. Your reasoning is fine, I just think it might be a little frustrating to have the melon firing long after it's target has moved off.
Just my thoughts, anyhow.
Edit:
I'm gonna go test the new release right now, and perhaps change my opinion accordingly.
I don't like that the Barracks units do not attempt to go off on their own to fight anymore. Especially the flying ones.
The new command option does not work to well (when you think of melons not attached to props, you can not do anything with them)
Edit:
Never mind I made them go back to attacking the way they did before.
I didn't find any laser melon in the list. When I cranked up GMod, it gave me this error:
weapons\gmod_tool\stools/lasermelon.lua:58: unexpected symbol near '}'
I'm also frustrated at the barracks-spawned melons not roaming around and going after the enemy.
However, I did have success with commanding ground troops. I'd never realized they could actually move on the ground, on their own. That was a lot of fun, especially with a couple dozen rolling around. I even went so far as to construct a sort of Helm's Deep out of Combine barricades.
A shield is most definatly needed here...
Maybe the stargate shields? But they wont block most of the projectiles will they?
sounds cool how much effect will that have?
I always get some "NULL entity" error when trying to use any of it. Everything seems to work except that melons don't move around on their own and the gravity for the entity the melon is welded to doesn't disable.
