If anyone does want to make maps it seems that there are a lot of small ones like wm_dawn, but the best matches I have played have been on maps as large as gm_superstruct. It gives a lot of room to fight over.
Never mind, resources sound like an okay idea.
http://www.wegame.com/watch/Fun_with_Warmelons/ EDIT: Media type not supported, I could not embed. I made a small video using WarMelons and Simple Prop Damage. It is not much but it does show a good example of what you can do with some of the different melons. By the time I finished the Dark Blue blimp the Melon Command Stool bugged out on me and I was only able to move the Teal Blimp while the other was forced to move by thrusters.
Try not to use the command tool. It sucks and is far more reliable by binding a key to "+wmselect" and another to "wmorder".
I like sitting back and whatching NPC's battle it out. So this is one of my favourite addons by far. I like making "Dropships". A simple flying prop that has either a hollow interior for storage with a floor which then opens to drop the melons. Or an easier way is to spawn a barracks on the bottom of the ship when it flies over the enemy warmelon base. It's fun to watch Warmelons attacking Combine aswell :D

When you ordered the blimp to go to the position, it tried to move directly towards where you shot, ie downwards. After a while the horizontal force wasn't enough to pull it along. That's another idea. I'll add a 'no Z movement' tickbox now. That shouldn't take long at all. Also the light fighters aren't completely coated in team paint anymore, they're just tinted. Like they have lighter armour or something. It's just to make them look different to the regular fighters. Also the Barracks can have 20 active melons now. If you want anything done now's the time to ask for it.
I think you should make a Sniper melon. Maybe that is semi-transparent and shoots long range powerfull bullets.
Also the Barracks can have 20 active melons now.
About the barracks, were those regular flying fighters in the most recent movie you made or just no-gravity barracks?

If not, I would like that feature done.
IT LIVES!! AGAIN!!! That's the second time this thread has done that to me... Still, awesome. Glad to hear you're keeping it alive.
D: Update damn it!
oh go on then.
YAY AN UPDATE :D I LOVE YOU (not personally) :D

Open the Barracks Control context panel and click the melon you want to spawn. Queue melons up freely, it will remember what order you told them to spawn in. Also I haven't made a continuous building effect yet, so don't be suprised if it doesn't do anything when you click the button. Spawn times: Fighter - 3 Light fighter - 1 Cannon - 12 Medic - 12 Plasma cannon - 10 Flechette melon - 8 Heavy flechette melon - 16 Let me know what you think the balance is like. Set up 2 forts with barracks in or something and try to destroy the other. If you don't know how to select things look at the OP under ORDERING YOUR MELONS. Also here's a concept I had a couple days ago, and made an image just now to explain what it would be like: Edit: Also I'll soon add a convar to select which team to order. So if the convar is set to 1, you can only select red melons. 4 means only select cyans etc. Set it to 0 to turn off the feature. I'm trying to facilitate 'competetive' non-staged battles.
Keep the work up mate :D I love warmelons :)
Looks great John, just try to keep these air vehicles on par with the melons. Either they take a long time to build or aren't that powerful, just don't want them taking over as the main feature of War melons.
How do you control the barracks.
Is there an SVN of this?
Is there an SVN of this?
Beat me to it. Damn. You should try to make an A-A gunner melon. It would shoot mildly powerful heat seeking missiles at a very low rate of fire.
How do you control the barracks.
check the OP
check the OP
The tab "Always Spawn" whenever it is checked, the melons do not spawn at all. With it unchecked it spawns the melons normally.
Damn it! Garrysmod.org is broken (well that was a surprise. [/sarcasm]) and I can't download R11! How irritating. EDIT It appears garrysmod. org was fine, but my computer wasn't downloading the stuff. Either way, I still haven't got R11!
Ok 1. whats is OP. And 2. you need some sort of thing to tell you if it is building.
1: Original Post 2: Agreed 3: Is there going to be an auto attack radius too or is that not in the pipeline anymore? 4: What does wmentselect do? 5: What is the 'always spawn' checkbox supposed to do? and finally 6: This addon keeps getting more and more awesome. Keep it up man!
Hey, Do you think you can make an SVN of this? Also my barracks doesn't have the choice to choose which melons to spawn and when to spawn them etc... I downloaded R11. Do I have to delete my original warmelons folder first? Because I didn't. I just overwritten the original files.
These melons are made of 100% win.
Well I cannot get the barracks to work, I've followed the instructions but it will not spawn. Also how do you control the gravity of the warmelons? They don't fly, they just plop down on the ground when I unfreeze the object :(

Also what's not working about it, are you getting errors or is it just being a stubborn bastard?

Nevermind the barracks is working :) Thanks for the help. Awesome modification.
