there's literally not a single reason you need to capitalize every single word of your sentence. Also, you're a prime example of everything i hate in a coder. Ever. Good job. Note to mods: Please, Just IPban that kid already. Edit: crap, sorry for being a poopy drama-lengthener. Ill post content here in a second. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been working on making ZombieSurvival a more class-oriented gamemode, with guns and perks and stuff to gain on levelup to make the game a bit more addicting. (I've made sure not to make anything too OP, so that people who have high levels don't own the playing field. I admit, this is an experiment and i hope that it turns out to be a successful one.) It includes zombies also having leveling and perks. Things like the poison headcrab throwing a different kind of projectile, or the zombie having more force to help with propkilling. maybe speed or health boosts to zombies. I've also added metric assloads of weaponry for humans. Loads of new models(seriously hope i dont rape download time. I know everyone hates that), and soon to be alot more melee weapons to cater to those who would rather use a katana to chop a zombies head off. I'm aiming for a kind of custom feel to the zombiesurvival experience. Levels will be few and far between, with a load of great rewards to go with it. You may receive a perk on level up, a new melee, a new tool, a new weapon to start with, or unlock a weapon to earn from damage (we use a damage system for rewarding new guns. This would put a new option at that certain damage level to use the new gun.) All of this is experimental, and i really hope it can make a great gaming experience. Here's a picture of the unfinished Loadout Menu: hope ye' like
I hope you know what you are doing, btw
Fight to Survive: Stronghold by RoaringCow, TehBigA is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License. Guys I Would Like To Apologize On Behalf Of Everybody Posting Content On This Thread I Know Its Boring And Has Been Done Thousands Of Times By Yours Truly But Dont Hate On Them Theyre Trying As Hard As They Can
Got an idea for an addon that would seem simple enough but I just don't know if it's doable, A sort of tool overlay that shows with lines or something which objects are welded/no-collided to which objects and where. I figure this would be a handy thing for people new to gmod, almost everyone I've seen starting off had trouble with this. Is it possible to find those connections, I guess it would be. Maybe this has already been done even?

Not too sure if they're networked though.
Now wearing has been banned a couple times in this topic now. Thanks thomas, I'll see if I can figure this one out!

Some kinda MOBA-style gamemode I'm working on: Sorry for jpg rape. The green circle is the ground targeted AoE for the 1st ability (a leap). The tower things spin around.

RoaringCow said himself, the gamemode is meant to teach people how a gamemode should be made. He hosted under my community throughout the release of the gamemode. You're in the credits. do you want me to use something else anyways? Also, there's about 10+ F2S servers out there with modifications and stuff. If you're really enforcing "No Derivatives", then you have a lot of Cease And Desist letters to write.

I've always wanted to learn how to use Stencils (and patterns, but even all my super simple patterns don't ever work properly =[ ) correctly, so I love to see this kind of stuff.
I saw those caves on your screenshots through steam, was thoroughly confused. Now I get it, awesome.
I got a little emotional about Linux this afternoon (specifically it not getting auto reload support on GMod 13's launch) so I stole Python1320's idea to make Lua caches out of text files. It doesn't auto reload but it will generate a new "Lua" cache (compressed string of clientside Lua) when you run a console command (could always set up a timer to update the cache too). If the new cache is less than 64KB it will send it to you via the wonderful net library, otherwise it uses http.Fetch to grab it from FastDL (my FastDL will grab missing files from my server). There's obviously some downsides to this (specifically being that finding errors becomes difficult) as I'm not a Lua god who can write my own error reporting system (hi python) but I'm sure it'll eventually get there if I poke him enough. It also only works on files in lua/ because I'm a terrible coder and hell if I want to mess with the gamemode stuff [t]http://puu.sh/1gD1V[/t] TODO: - add support to reload a cache that was previously loaded (in the case you are reverting a change)
hehe
It looks really awesome, but it's really slow paced. Almost as if you are walking around and shooting slowly moving targets. I'de suggest making the zombies faster/aggressive or something of the sort.
hehe
Slow player movement speed, higher zombie concentration, slight zombie movement speed increase, and you are perfect.

Those zombies are pretty damn awesome. Is there bullet penetration on that shotgun? Would be nice to shoot through more than one zombie with a 12 or 8 gauge shotgun.
Slow player movement speed, higher zombie concentration, slight zombie movement speed increase, and you are perfect.
player movement's gonna be slower than this, it's based on your inventory & i was only carrying a gun and ammo for the most part. zombie concentration is based on the server's config [editline]20th October 2012[/editline]
Those zombies are pretty damn awesome. I ran out of bullets around 1:50, and if you look for the lua error, at that point I'd have been grabbed. It's more 'survive for the longest' rather than 'kill all the zombies'.
It looks really awesome, but it's really slow paced. Almost as if you are walking around and shooting slowly moving targets. NMRiH actually managed to make slow moving zombies scary/deadly. And when they come in packs... You better start praying. Also, you should tick "No reload mode" on your todo list :v:
Meh. Working on a small gamemode, when I have some free time, called Darkest Days. Its a mix of Half-Life 2 Deathmatch and Bioshock 2 Multiplayer plus 1-2 ideas from Dishonored. Right now there is only one gametype (TDM), but I hope to add at least one more (KOTH or something). So yeah, just like in Bioshock 2 (and MP too) you can carry 2 weapons and 2 spells, and use weapons and spells at same time. There are about 10-11 spells so far and most of them are inspired by Bioshock 2 (Fire Bolt, Electro Bolt and such) or Dishonored (Teleportation). I try to keep gameplay as fast-paced as possible (health/ammo/mana pickups and instant respawn). Few pics and a short video: [t]http://bbq.to/dm_lockdown0000_505d.jpg[/t][t]http://bbq.to/dm_lockdown0003_7e5d.jpg[/t]
