lua_openscript or lua_openscript_cl [editline]15th October 2012[/editline]
Working on updating WolfDJ for GMod 13...pain in the ass
a little more in depth on this the fucking thing crashes when I open the menu and I have 0 clue why
Are you sure you're reloading the clientside script with the menu code? You're not creating the menu in a hook, are you"?
lua_openscript opens it serverside lua_openscript_cl opens it clientside

Just get out, nobody needs your 'trolling' around here.
Hi um, report and move on everyone?
also with those hacks and the weapon name you can use ply:GetActiveWeapon().PrintName and it should return the name of the swep instead of the class :)
GetPrintName is a better choice since it works on everything, not just SWeps.
GetPrintName is a better choice since it works on everything, not just SWeps.
Everything scripted, anyway. HL2 weapons don't like to return their original name with anything.
Hey Tyler, I'll bet you a high-five you can't make that crosshair spin.
Just curious, what ever happened to Silverlan's Wrench project? I'm not rushing, just haven't heard from it in a while.
Old Version Stupid Bitch Mine Is Better Now Yeah Fuck You Bitch You Wish You Had The New Version Everybody In This Shitty Community Is A Skid Except Me I Just Made A Video Of Hera Owning Other Aimbots In My HvH Server I Also Coded The Gamemode If Anybody Wants To Hire Me
there's literally not a single reason you need to capitalize every single word of your sentence. Also, you're a prime example of everything i hate in a coder. Ever. Good job. Note to mods: Please, Just IPban that kid already. Edit: crap, sorry for being a poopy drama-lengthener. Ill post content here in a second. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been working on making ZombieSurvival a more class-oriented gamemode, with guns and perks and stuff to gain on levelup to make the game a bit more addicting. (I've made sure not to make anything too OP, so that people who have high levels don't own the playing field. I admit, this is an experiment and i hope that it turns out to be a successful one.) It includes zombies also having leveling and perks. Things like the poison headcrab throwing a different kind of projectile, or the zombie having more force to help with propkilling. maybe speed or health boosts to zombies. I've also added metric assloads of weaponry for humans. Loads of new models(seriously hope i dont rape download time. I know everyone hates that), and soon to be alot more melee weapons to cater to those who would rather use a katana to chop a zombies head off. I'm aiming for a kind of custom feel to the zombiesurvival experience. Levels will be few and far between, with a load of great rewards to go with it. You may receive a perk on level up, a new melee, a new tool, a new weapon to start with, or unlock a weapon to earn from damage (we use a damage system for rewarding new guns. This would put a new option at that certain damage level to use the new gun.) All of this is experimental, and i really hope it can make a great gaming experience. Here's a picture of the unfinished Loadout Menu: hope ye' like

On the topic of quiet projects, I would love to see more of aska's Check'em.

what is it with cheats anyway? cant you just play the game, like, you know, normally?
It's fun for coders to try and make the best hack and test it on a hack vs hack server against others creations. Releasing it to the public is just stupid though.
You Have Been Working On This For Weeks What A Fucking Skid I Could Have Done This In A Few Minutes
Copying doesn't count as coding. You're repeating the word "skid" in every post. I bet you've just heard someone calling you a skid and now you're repeating it everywhere until someone tells you what it means. [editline]asd[/editline] Fine, I'll ignore him too. :v:
It's fun for coders to try and make the best hack and test it on a hack vs hack server against others creations. Releasing it to the public is just stupid though.
Wasn't seths hvh closed though?
Wasn't seths hvh closed though?
Seth's HvH has been gone for months, if not upwards of a year. It's not like he's the only one with a decent HvH gamemode. I agree with Ralle, the most fun I ever had was coding a cheat, but I would rather just keep it to myself so that it stays undetected.
The code I used to test vAdmin's skin. Posting here just for the lulz. 7422 characters after minification. It was Moonscript, originally. [editline]asd[/editline] [lua]local Create = vgui.Create[/lua] Forgot to show that line.
7422 characters after minification.
If you really care about minification.. Try this. ( it's written to work with Roblox, but modifying it should be easy enough )

Moonscript needs to be compiled to Lua. The Moonscript files need to be in the same folder as the Moonscript compiler. I wrote a build tool to move the files, compile them and move them back. Then I added more features, like identifying errors and showing message boxes. Then I made it replace some variable names that I often use as short forms. ("id" -> "identification#"; "temp" -> "temporary#", etc [# is a number]) Then I made a preprocessor. Then I made a per-line minifier. I gotta add more features. Thanks for the link, tho. That could be very useful for packing Lua for the clients. [editline]asd[/editline] My builder is also multithreaded and multicore. :D

To me I feel like it's step down from Lua. I find it comparable to choosing between Lua or ms batch. I guess it's fun to setup and try? It looks well designed on the outside (didn't read its source) and I think it probably serves as a good example on how to make a new language with Lua.

Also, classes, switch statement, line decorators, table and list comprehensions, etc. I just like it, so I went on with it.
