But sadly it still isn't possible to save stuff to the user's desktop so if you wanted to save a picture you'd have to rely on the client to somehow find the garrysmod/data folder
use an upload service instead, i find the use of data/ is settings/cache for downloads
my camera saves it both in the data folder and uploads it onto the social site

I wouldn't expect support for any proprietary codecs
My nextbots have been invisible since the latest update. Any reason why?

Update/Validate your game, specifically the nextbot base. Clientside methods were enabled for Nextbots.

Just had to restructure a few things. Thank you!

I love you. <3
You think Garrysmod will ever be able to auto refresh when making new files? Instead of it just being able to auto refresh when you modify already existing files.

sounds like Toolgun Minigames needs a revival
I put a request here for an alternate version of the 'poster' command which would output n^2 separate image files instead of one big file. I feel like I should probably explain why...
Well first of all, this isn't my request - it's for my friend Vioxtar, who's made many amazing works of gmod art (warning: lots of big images, don't click on mobile). He's currently working on a huge scene which requires a VERY big poster size - probably poster 10 or 11, and the output just fails. I got the impression that he's not gonna ask, so here I am asking for him.
We're thinking of using a google maps based interface to browse the final image, which would mean splitting it to tiles anyway. There's basically no benefit, in this particular scenario, to outputting one big file - and every benefit to outputting plenty of smaller files.
Hopefully this isn't asking for a lot and maybe we can get this in the next update? I know it'd be a rarely-used command, but I'd expect that most of the work is already done in the current poster command, and it would only have to be slightly modified for the version I'm asking for.
P.S. if at all possible... Output PNG!
Thanks a ton if this gets in for the next update or the one after.

Can this issue be looked at?

I'm trying to send JSON to an api but i can't due to only being able to post parameters.
Http post should only be allowed serverside imo.
you're not gonna be able to do anything malicious with http post that you wouldn't be able to do with the hundreds of browser addons and programs that exist or even just native javascript

Credits to python for the hack.
I'm glad people are putting the new file extensions to good use:

Yeah, this is what I was talking about, Willox.

I mean, they could just do it with another file type so I don't see a problem really.
I do hope it stays however, as dynamically loading images is awesome.

Another file type (.txt) does not display thumbnails though.

It will stay though.

People could still fuck up your data folder with .txt anyway. They could even overwrite all the data in all your text files so I don't think this is a huge problem

Nothing's preventing them from opening webpages to any type of picture when they join either, or playing any audio.
It's just a silly request, but can we have working _restart?
This just crashes the game when this tries to open it again

It doesn't crash the game, it used to but it no longer does. What's wrong with changelevel game.GetMap()?

It's nice to do a full restart without kicking everyone off with the "server is shutting down" message and in my case a small percentage of users tend to crash when I do a changelevel.

A restart would kick players off either way.
