Willox, Is Chromium Embedded Framework still replacing Awesomium?
It's been months since we've seen anything about it and a lot of us are starting to think it's not happening, which would frankly really really suck, but I want to confirm either way.
For myself even moreso so I can decide how to code some of the systems in a gamemode I'm creating. I need to know whether or not I can expect a decent web framework that doesn't completely slaughter performance doing the simplest of things.
I don't think you should expect it soon enough to hold off coding any parts of a gamemode. The main thing holding me back at this point is a comfortable Linux setup. Ideally I need to find some software that can mount a CIFS with support for most syscalls (I'll admit I haven't tried many at this point.)
Regarding the benchmark, I don't believe it's taking in to account that those high-cpu-usage functions may not be running on the main thread. My own benchmarks don't show Awesomium anywhere near slowing the game down. It's definitely true that the inter-process communication in Awesomium isn't ideal, though. You might see more issues when using lots of Lua<->JS calls.
It's definitely on my to-do.
Is there any way we could get a IMaterial:GetTable() or something along those lines that returned all the parameters of a material? Right now I've just created a table of all the ones I care about until I spend the time to find them all.
Whoops missed that. Just saw people requesting things early on in the page count. Decided to finally catch up on a few pages. Thanks! :pudge:

Good to hear it's still planned. Thank you Willox, I appreciate the through response. <3
I'm running my server on the dev branch, however. I set up a list of workshop files they have to download. The client goes trough the list, but does not download the actual addons and leave this error in the console:
Addon download failed err2 (Sci-fi Citizens v4)

Thanks for pointing that out

I've gotta say you three (Willox, RobotBoy655 and killburn) are making a great work with gmod.
Keep doing the great job you're all making.
Also, with the -tools thing we can now create particles in gmod instead of doing it in other games right?
checkboxes fucked up..

That's from ulx and i think it's not related.
You should post it in the ulx official forum.

Well it wasn't happening before the update so it's not exclusively a ULX issue... :/
Also, a load of custom content is not working anymore, with playermodels being invisible, textures missing, some models errors.

Maybe your gmod unmounted other games you had mounted.
Also, post that error on the ulx forum so they can see if it's an update error or just a regular normal error.
Anyone else having players crash when joining a server?
Is anyone else having the problem that "Model Missing <somepath>" is spammed in server console?
I think it got printed only once before.
[editline]29th March 2016[/editline]
Also players are reporting that the game crashes after pressing Escape.
I have problem to see some texts and fonts, the dcheckbox is not working.

This spacing is bugging me
what exactly does net_max_fragments do, google doesnt reveal many results
Will we ever get sequence blending like in HLMV? It can't be that hard when you can do it fine in the old HLMV:

those words on the left are above for me,
rip automerge
This update completely broke some stuff that was working just fine before the update, this includes F4's menus, random crashing clients, texture errors, ULX errors etc. Hope a fix can be released soon :/
It looks like non-latin letters stopped working with custom created fonts using surface.createfont.
Not 100% sure about this yet, but since half of my HUD text is displayed and half isn't, I assume this is the case. You can easily test this by typing any Cyrillic letters into the 3d2d textscreen addon.
Windows.
Same, been getting those errors Britain and people in my server are crashing :/ Any ideas on a fix?

wait
We are reverting most of the changes ( Important stuff such as crash fixes and DoS fixes will not be reverted ).
Will fix the problems and push the update out again sometime later.
Enough stuff has fucked up that we're going to do a revert (keeping changes such as crash & exploit fixes). :ninja:

Surprisingly, it isn't.
Another case of "why did literally no one test the dev branch?"?
I mean I'm guilty.

Isn't Entity:SetLayerWeight() what you're looking for?
Surprisingly, it isn't.
:wideeye:
MS confirms it though, should've done my research
