Made this a few weeks ago. The issue isn't people cheating for achievements because that's been happening forever. It's kinda messed up though when servers lie about having Garry on their server so people swarm for the achievement and it could be fixed easily (which is what Ley said).
Is the bug going to be fixed, when you exit garry's mod hl2.exe stays open?
Sure, disable Steam Cloud sync.
That doesnt change anything at all.
Where can i find multicore convars for server? I thought i saw them somewhere but i cant find them..

Those aren't for the server
Those aren't for the server
Then there aren't any.
* Added mat_viewportupscale to blocked convar list
* Fixed the "steam id 0 fake players inflate server player count" exploit
* Fixed clientside SteamID spoofing
* Switched some spammy serverside console output to DevWarnings
* Attempted blind crash fix for TestHitboxes crash
* Fixed not being able to join a LAN server
* Fixed npc_manhack not triggering npc_maker/npc_template_maker's OnAllSpawnedDead output
* Fixed a server crash caused by combine_mine changes in last update
Latest changes.

Sure, good job not doing anything about major frequent crash for a really long time.
No, thank you, i've already fixed this crash myself by patching .so's.
Go fix some more TF2 maps or Alyx in HL2 singleplayer or something, that's surely way more important.

For any improvement made to GMod, one can say "You could have looked at more important shit than that". No amount of updates would ever win from demotivating comments like that.
Why the fuck are even you trashing him for a crash fix attempt? Crashes, besides exploits generally have the highest priority. Having an (attempted) crash fix in the changelog is pretty much always a good thing. Don't be a dick about it.

If you were as intelligent as this bragging would imply, you would have sent the details to RB and help him find a fix that works for everyone.

You've answered this yourself.

This crash was reported half a year ago! What was being done about it? Nothing. But some TF2 maps were fixed, that must be a good thing.

Yeah. The thing is, i've tried to do that, on several occasions. I could provide him with a testing environment where these crashes happen, full coredumps, our workarounds... But he either refused or ignored my attempts to cooperate.
I would refuse and ignore you to with that shit toxic attitude of yours.

Can you point to such attempts? Because I do not recall you trying to contact me in any shape, way or form, not on Steam or any other PM variation for sure ( neither did Noiwex, who actually removed me from Steam a few months back for whatever reason ), yet now you both act like you all of a sudden want to help and wanted to do so the whole time.

You are talking like as one man working with a decade old engine I should be able take care of everything in short amount of time and fix everything you want, when most crashes reports are of the sort "I got a crash" or "I got a crash, here's my console log, fix it now". It's like you expect me to work on this 24/7, which is obviously not going to happen.
Not to mention constant internal problems like the build server not pushing changes to Steam properly and absence of symbols files for live version even on Windows, all of which is out of my control.
It's not as easy to figure out what the problem is in someone else's code as you think ( considering there's Valve code and garry code involved ) and be able to fix it when there is no known way to reproduce the crash in the first place other than "it happens".
Yes, I do take care of smaller things more often then not, the reason being, again, I work pretty much alone on this now, and the small problems are still problems nonetheless. I don't know why you are so stuck on TF2 maps, honestly, there are both smaller and bigger problems that were taken care of in last half a year.
How hard is it to change modelprecache stringtable from 2048 to 8192? I mean the lua files stringtable has been upgraded from 2k to 8k so any reason this can't be done for models?
I see Kilburn made that change through so I'm not expecting Robotboy to know or change it but just curious.

No, i never said that you should do more work. I said that you should prioritize it better.
So, let me recap this.
We, our players and other GMod communities were suffering (and still do) from frequent crashes for a LONG period of time.
Crashes were reported and then repeatedly mentioned on GitHub and Facepunch. But, for the most part, nothing was done.
Then i tried to contact Rubat, to sort out exactly the problem he mentioned:
> when most crashes reports are of the sort "I got a crash" or "I got a crash, here's my console log, fix it now"
by providing various useful info about crashes.
All my attempts to do that were refused for an unknown reason.
* He should be the one who is most interested in fixing crashes.
* He should be the one who is trying to get useful information.
* Instead, i repeatedly offer such an information myself and he even refuses.
Meanwhile servers and players continue to suffer.
I'm pretty sure i've earned the right to be angry at this point.
But yeah, sure, keep calling me toxic and throwing boxes at me. I've noticed you guys are very good at this.
modelprecache table is at least 4k

Ok, so you did try to contact me, my bad, to be fair, "What's your problem?" is not the best way to start a serious conversation, especially with the PM title "fefsfffdf".

Rubat understands russian.
Also, we are supposed to know each other from the old days (5 years ago or even more). At least i thought so.
For the blind people: ( So I know who you are and why you add me. )

I do, and we may have played on the same server almost 7 years ago, but that doesn't change a thing.

Not according to dumpstringtables:
Table modelprecache
187/2048 items
So unless that is incorrect, it is still 2K, and Sandbox crashes all of the time because of it.

I guess it's something to look into, it's supposed to be 4k as far as i can tell, there's another one at 2k, but its called dynamicmodels. I guess some preprocessor fuckery is going on.

I got curious and ended up testing it. Crash happened on the 2048th model.
2047 models precached:

so is there any way you can make it so Bone Manipulations work on c_hands? i figured out how to modify the bones with matrices but it doesnt affect the children. until then ill have to figure out a way of fixing the child bones myself

Are you implying that this can be used right now for maps in Garry's Mod since I might do that for FastDL

Probably, if you don't care about people who use OSX.

Worked perfectly fine when we tried it, just not on OSX.
