:snip: Woah I just looked at the site it does support other games. Cool.
Will this site support more than just gmod? One thing I never got was why SF only focused on gmod. Maybe you can add other source games.
[t]http://billyvenner.xyz/files/chrome_2016-04-16_23-31-00.png[/t]
ScriptSpawn is an online marketplace for, but not limited to, Source Engine scripts.

[t]http://billyvenner.xyz/files/chrome_2016-04-16_23-31-00.png[/t]
Im slow sorry. I was just looking at the main page and didnt see that. D: Add Rust and other popular games. Maybe even KSP :D:
Will this site support more than just gmod? One thing I never got was why SF only focused on gmod. Maybe you can add other source games.
We currently support GMod, CS:S, and CS:GO. We are also open to any game/category suggestions as well, as stated above. Edit: Looks like I was a bit late to the party. Regardless, any developer who has content for another game may request the addition of that game.

It would increase the amount of scripts/mods that can be on the site.
You seriously need this explaining? They can create inflation. Since they can set any price they want, they will raise costs to consumers. Since monopolies are the only provider, they can set pretty much any price they choose. This is known as price-fixing. They can pretty much do this, regardless of demand, because they know the consumer has no choice. Not only can monopolies raise prices, they can also supply inferior products. Monopolies are also bad for an economy because the manufacturer has no incentive to innovate, and provide "new and improved" products. This used to be true of cable companies. It was expensive to lay new cable, so residents had to accept the cable company's service and prices. However, disruptive technology is the worst enemy of monopolies. Dish TV, iPads, and Netflix has created a new type of entertainment service that doesn't rely on cable to deliver movies and TV programming. The same thing happened with land-line telephones. Ripped straight from a simple google search. Enjoy
And how is that any different from what I said? [editline]17th April 2016[/editline]
I believe you may be a bit misunderstood about monopolies. A monopoly is the exclusive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service (dictionary definition). What does this mean? It means that anybody who wants a certain script or addon has to go to Scriptfodder; there is no alternative. So what does that mean? Let's say Scriptfodder quadruples their prices. What can the user do? Nothing! There is no alternative, aside from making your own addons, a monumental task for most. With a little competition, Scriptfodder will have to keep competitive prices. This can only benefit consumers, because pricing will be more favorable. But hey, maybe you're a bit biased because you're such a big part of Scriptfodder.
Stop with the patronizing tone. Again, how is that any different from what I said ?
Just add support for any game with an active modding community. It would increase the amount of scripts/mods that can be on the site.
I added a thread just for you, :D http://scriptspawn.com/forums/topic/additional-games/
In addition to the thread, I'll be adding extra categories that have been privately requested!
Stop with the patronizing tone.
My patronizing tone was unintended, and I'm sorry if you feel that way. While we're at it, could you please stop with the condescending tone? It would be greatly appreciated.
You should probably work on getting an HTTPS certificate. You're handling logins over plaintext. Also, I don't know how well you're going to be able to scale using Wordpress. I don't know much about WooCommerce but I'm fairly positive you're going to run into issues over time. Marketplaces that handle mods really need a lot of... custom stuff. I wish you good luck though. P.S. I'd switch to NGINX if that's an option for you, also take a look at http://www.webpagetest.org/result/160416_NH_13GX/ (tons of optimizations to work on)
Just add support for any game with an active modding community. It would increase the amount of scripts/mods that can be on the site.
You're going to want to be careful about that.
And how is that any different from what I said?
Because those aren't good things while you're arguing for it to be a good thing. :goodjob:
My patronizing tone was unintended, and I'm sorry if you feel that way. While we're at it, could you please stop with the condescending tone? [editline]17th April 2016[/editline]
Because those aren't good things while you're arguing for it to be a good thing. :goodjob:
Monopoly is actually a good thing in free market.
Just ask yourself why SF has monopoly - and the answer isn't 'because there is no other alternative'.
Maybe because people like you keep shooting them down when they try to get feedback.
Monopoly is actually a good thing in free market.
You're wearing me out.

We'll make sure to do our best! I honestly didn't expect this much attention, so I guess I'll be switching hosts in the next few days. Along with that will come the SSL, which I stated previously. Also, thanks for the support Slow :P
Maybe because people like you keep shooting them down when they try to get feedback. You're wearing me out.
How am I shooting them down exactly?

If you're not using it already anyway.
How am I shooting them down exactly?
Maybe you're actually unaware of how you come across then.
Maybe you're actually unaware of how you come across then. Exhibit A)
Yes, the positioning is cringy - your point being ?
Sounds perfect. Will begin working on that tonight (going to speed up host switching process).
Guys, look. Seriously. We need to stop this whole 'competition with ScriptFodder' drama. ScriptFodder is awesome. So was CoderHire before it. They have both given people a place to sell scripts for a long time, while - on the whole - providing good support to developers and customers. Now - so far Sleggie has been polite, professionally accepting of criticism and understands that this is early and has a lot of work needing doing. Not only this, but has shown that this is not just another ScriptFodder rip off, but is showing unique and enhanced features and if this succeeds, could provide good service to the source community. Lets not loose sight of the fact this is a good thing. It does need work, and we should be supporting this like we have done with developers in the developers section for ages. Hell I'd be nowhere without people help. It just seems like ScriptFodder has this army of protectors. People are right, competition is GOOD. And it always has been. This doesn't change now. Good luck. However much Neth pushes me, I still haven't sold a script and I'm unlikely to do so, mainly because I loose interest quickly.
Sounds perfect. Will begin working on that tonight (going to speed up host switching process).
You might want to reduce the size of that search box and position it on top instead.
Yes, the positioning is cringy - your point being ?
I could continue to try and express my point. But I'm just going to accept you're one of those assholes and be grateful for it. Don't change, you're perfect.
I could continue to try and express my point. But I'm just going to accept you're one of those assholes and be grateful for it. Don't change, you're perfect.
And I suggest you do a little less DDoSing and a little bit more reading, here's something to start with: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Henry_Dow Bit under 'Breaking the monopoly'
And I suggest you do a little less DDoSing
Do you have any factual backing to that accusation or are you just talking more shit?

DDoSing has nothing to do with Scriptspawn.
You might want to reduce the size of that search box and position it on top instead.
Thank you for the input, I have moved things around. The contact form is only temporary, for the duration of beta.
