Competition is good and there's no reason for anyone to slash down on Scriptspawn or anything tbh
Do you have any factual backing to that accusation or are you just talking more shit?
Slowboi, you really need to stop being so anti SF. Like in our previous chat here, jumping right to conclusions without any sort of proof and all around acting like you're the center of everything good.
We'll keep you guys posted about our updates.
You're going to want to be careful about that.
Why?
Thank you for the input, I have moved things around. The contact form is only temporary, for the duration of beta.
Yes, it looked like DMCA protected search :v:
Yes, it looked like DMCA protected search :v:
I hope I dont get DMCA'd when I search for 'cake'.
Do you have any factual backing to that accusation or are you just talking more shit?
You are truly Slow.
End of conversation.
Why?
Well its because certain games have special requirements, (even some source engine ones!). For example, it states in our TOS that everyone must include source code when uploading SMX files (sourcemod plugin extension) and that's because Sourcemod requires it.

I admit, I was a bit aggressive towards you, as you're just the developer, and you do a good job with the development. I just can't stand the management.
Thats just my two cents.

Some companies are taking down youtube videos that include their games, I think same would happen to a profit-based website having modifications.

Exactly. That too.

Just go with the games that have non-shit tos stuff then :P

So GMod, Minecraft, anything from Valve basically.

I'm all for competition but no one has hit the mark so far, and I hate to break it to you Sleggie but this site is currently a massive disaster. I can list like 10 issues with the site right now...
- The UI is horrific
- DMCA Protected button? like really... A button does not give you "DMCA Protection", and even worse when you click it, it says you're non verified...
- You're using WordPress.... Fucking WordPress. WordPress on it's own is normally okay, but it's pretty clear you've just raided the WordPress plugin site for as many fucking plugins as you can here, each with there own potential security vulnerabilities.
- Why is there a fucking WordPress calender widget on the right
- You're not a registered company, no one with half a brain cell is gonna trust you.
- You're not using CloudFlare, you're gonna get buttfucked when someone launch's a DDoS against you.
- No one has heard of you guys, reputation is important, you'll find it difficult for people to trust you if no body knows who you are.
- Get HTTPS, it's free...
- Why does it keep swapping between scriptspawn.com and scriptpawn.site.nfoservers.com
- http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/divi/ - seriously...
- Your website is crazy slow, and keeps timing out on me.
- Are you kidding me? [screenshot] - did you even try?.. come on
Please don't waste your time, The above problems are likely only a small subset of your actual problems, if you're unable to build a website without using WordPress then making your own script marketplace probably isn't for you.
So GMod, Minecraft, anything from Valve basically.
KSP doesnt seem to have a TOS for their mods. I cant seem to find one. That would be a good place too.

Works fine for us, that one might be just you.
Works fine for us, that one might be just you.
Its slow for me -- if I get it right, the server is hosted in US, and my ping to US non-CDN servers is bad.
Thanks so much Jamie!
As for SSL and everything, no worries, it will all be done within 1-2 days (if everything works well)!
Also, the calendar is just there because... Why not? If you really don't like it I can remove it. As for the switching, no problem, working on that now. As for the slowness... Well... it works for everyone I spoke to so far?

To be fair - ScriptFodder uses Bootstrap (I know it's not the same as Wordpress, but it's still a shortcut, especially as you mention the 'Horiffic UI'). However these above points do matter... and maybe the best thing is to take this thread as advice, improve, then come back, as it's not ready to go live just yet, but I'm sure it will. However Jamie there's no need to be a dick about it.
Wordpress is good for content sites, especially when handing the site over to a customer. However it's probably not great to use on a live business marketplace site.
HTTPS isn't really free, you can self sign, but you'd want to get a reputable company to sign your certificate. I've seen there's free sites out there that offer it, but I wouldn't trust my details with someone who gets a FREE HTTPS certificate.

CloudFlare gives free signed SSL certs.
CloudFlare gives free signed SSL certs.
Without paying for service with them already? If they do then nice, but again, same point, CloudFlare is a reputable provider of internet security, so I'd trust them. I mean these free services that have no backing on them.

I can't agree more, and change your backend IP (Contact the provider) to prevent anyone who's written it down from using or providing it.

- There is a difference between using Bootstrap and just slamming Wordpress and THIS together. never said ScriptFordder wasn't using some off the shelf components. I don't think I was really being a dick about it either really, I could have not told them about these security issues.
- HTTPS is free, Use letsencrypt...
- Wordpress is good for blogs, that's about it.
Wow, I got rated dumb quickly. They are valid points. To be fair I didn't know CloudFlare offered free SSL certificates.

I think I'm outdated with SSL then. I didn't think letsencrypt really had any reputable backing to it? Although CloudFlare does.
Wordpress is good for marketing sites as well as blogs, where the content can then be easily edited. But not for marketplace to service sites.

survival-tip; stop caring about ratings quickly.
-- They will probably just slam the fact you use wordpress from now on, too. So maybe considering moving from that is a good idea.
rated u dumb because half the points were invalid - using bootstrap for some clientside scaffolding is no way comparable to using wordpress and some plugins for ur entire site
I get that, I think I just have a personal hatred for bootstrap as so many sites use it. I could have been less biased. And I did agree that wordpress isn't suited for this kind of site.

Sure many sites use it, but with good reasons, its free, easy to use, really fast, amazing, and mobile optimized (if people tend to use it right..). I absolutely love Bootstrap. And it already looks pretty good with the default theme. I myself use Bootstrap 4 Alpha because of the amazing better & new features, and I hope Flat-UI will be updated to B4 really fast.
you were rated dumb because you don't have a clue what the fuck you're talking about.
Jamie, I actually do - I admit I didn't realise there were reputable sites out there offering SSL certificates. But I do think too many people use bootstrap, but that's personal opinion.
+ what I said IS true, you want a reputable site to supply your SSL certificate.
I was too quick to put down bootstrap though, as to be fair I'd rather have a responsive site using bootstrap then a non-bootsrap site that isn't mobile-friendly :P

Not in this case.
SF has no control over other websites, it can't stop them from growing, expanding and it's devs from adding new features - thus being more potential competition.
