:snip: I knew I forgot about something, hold on. Here's your average Joe the DarkRP developer, who gets (optimistically) around 150 sales a month out of his 2-3 scripts that cost averagely $6. If you manage to get 100+ of them, then maybe it'll be worth it. [t]http://puu.sh/oprRr/b63f21ebe4.png[/t] But for sure you won't be able to lure more 'efficient' devs, for obvious reasons: (also that 3850$ stands for 100-120 devs with high efficiency, obviously SF has around 9-12 of such devs - so getting 100 is nearly impossible) [t]http://puu.sh/ops0A/2ce29f8f44.png[/t]
but you literally can not cover paypal fees with 10% if someone sells a script for $1 the paypal fees would be $0.40 10% of $1 is $0.10 so ur gonna literally lose $0.30 on that script?
My point exactly - he'll be losing money for every underperforming developer.. which on SF is the majority (by underperforming I didn't mean people who suck, but people who are below average - hobbyists if you will).
Sooooo I can't "reset" my password so I don't have to login with Steam?
Thanks for pointing out all these issues. They all came up after the host switch. These should be easy to fix and I'll get to it asap. Thanks. Also that paypal is the one I'm testing with and the email is the default one you replace for your payments.
You won't be able to cover PayPal fees for the developer unless you're either willing to lose money on cheaper scripts (which is a bad idea unless your startup just had a fat seed funding round) or not make any money off them at all by offloading the fees onto the dev and not taking a commission. Source: Had this exact same problem If you really want to "cover" the fees for the dev, drop your commission to 5% or something and make them pay the fees.
Or better yet don't pay the fees. I've found a flat rate has always helped, considering that you can sell a $5 script 4 times to make back your investment on SF. It's incentive to make scripts that sell well, and once you hit that $15 per month with ScriptFodder then everything past that goes as profit, and can be used to save up for next month's fee even. When you start getting into % fees and all of that junk, it becomes messy and not even worth messing with. Edited: If you REALLY insist on going down this route though take a look at Freelancer's site. I've linked the Fees + Charges page which outlines how they do it. Although keep in mind those are jobs that are posted, not scripts.

I believe you should just re-route all traffic to another domain until you've fixed the site. Creating a thread on a website what is 90% broken is gonna be bad for your name.
Site kind of fucked up A LOT... Might want to fix all the errors you have before publicly launching the site, at least make sure ALL bugs are fixed or MOST bugs. Any ways, good job so far!
Why have a register button + a Steam Login button? Just do it as 'Login via Steam'
Why have a register button + a Steam Login button? However handling user registration is not a simple task, unless you know what you're doing it can all go horribly wrong. Similar to payment - which is why people use PayPal. If you don't know web security well, then use Login With Steam only and it'll all be done for you.
The vast majority of the bugs you guys have mentioned came up after our host switch. I'll take care of them now, thanks for letting us know!

Use the steam login since it's mostly used for all selling sites, from the past to the present. This can also crack down on fake users. Eg: Fake accounts such as people who claim themselves as someone else. I don't see why you are using a 'One for all' login system.
Was not sure about this but since you all prefer steam only we'll do it.
Cool. The problem with user-registration is that: 1. As mentioned above, if you ban someone, they can just create a new account - they'd still have to buy things again, but it's more hassle. 2. User registration security wise is constantly changing. Using Steam means they do all the security stuff for you. 3. Users don't need to re-register for your site, which is always a good thing, especially in the gaming-community using Steam sign in will be more popular. 4. You can pull data from Steam accounts - eg. username.
Thanks for letting us know about these issues. Turns out, switching hosts and getting SSL broke several things on the website. I have fixed the about page. I have removed the non-functional PayPal option. As for the email, just set your email? I will continue to update this post until all of the problems brought up above are fixed.
All the issues listed above have been fixed. Everyone will now have to login with Steam. What we plan to do now is: -Adjust payment system (we have something even better cooking up). -Edit the aesthetic side of things. -Keep taking in suggestions and polish up.
Images seem to want to go outside the description if they're at the bottom. [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/esnnrm.png[/t]
Images seem to want to go outside the description if they're at the bottom. [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/esnnrm.png[/t]
Looks like they floated it to the left and didn't do anything else to handle that.
Images seem to want to go outside the description if they're at the bottom. [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/esnnrm.png[/t]
Accept my invite on steam!
Looks like they floated it to the left and didn't do anything else to handle that.
Seems as if they are being lazy with HTML divs.
Seems as if they are being lazy with HTML divs.
Or it was just a simple mistake. It happens to everybody. That's why he posted this thread- so people could run into these problems so they could fix them, he wanted feedback to improve their website, because people have different style of doing things, so it was just a small bug that really, isn't a big deal, so it wouldn't be noticed right away. Everybody makes this kind of mistake some times.
Could you share the password?

Almost there guys. Finishing up adaptive payments to make em' flawless, working on an FAQ and fixing minor bugs. Also trying to set up a private chat system.
Probably been asked already, but how do you plan on protecting scripts? SF has options for file string replacements among other things. https://scriptfodder.com/knowledgebase/article/1/file-string-replacements How do you plan on protecting developers?
It feels like an eternity since I last posted. Well thank god that eternity is over because after non stop work on the website, myself and Pickle are ready to announce that we're now on version 1. The amount of things that have changed are quite remarkable. So many things have been fixed, improved and added all thanks to you guys. Let me list out some of the most noticeable changes: -Adaptive payments are up and working. Devs will be instantly payed on each purchase. -Abolished the commission system and replaced it with a simple 5$/month fee by popular demand. -Chat box for people to communicate live. -Blog so we can post news. -Support ticket system: you can now contact us in the most efficient, organized and practical way possible. -Purchased tab in user profiles. -Login with Steam only. (For those that didn't, you can use /login, but I just recommend to login with Steam.) -Tons of bug fixes. Does this mean we're 100% bug free? Heck no. We count on you to let us know so we can make improve ourselves! We now plan on including, in the future, other features such as: -Improved PM system. -Anyone can upload free stuff (this might come sooner than anything else). -Other stuff I can't think of right now! We'll be working on the website all weekend long and are here to answer your questions and assist you. I can now give the go ahead to all developers that have been waiting to release their content. Furthermore, I will be giving free developer to the next 3 lucky posters. Just make sure you say you want it.
If you're offering, I'll take it. [editline]30th April 2016[/editline] Also figured I'd put this out - I attempted to upload a .gif as an avatar, and now it won't allow me to change it at all. The change never took either. Edited: Went to Edit Profile and could change it there. Now I added my First and Last name to the account, and it refers to me via that throughout the site. I would rather it use my username instead.

Seems it was one time since I can't recreate it. But regarding the name thing. I'd really prefer my username to show, not my real name. I put that in there but on the site I'd rather it show Nookyava. I also don't see why you guys need to have a shipping/billing address. You're not handling physical goods.
