It seems to happen when a hook hits the water.
Also, looks like the usermessage for the upgrades menu gets called a few times.

You shouldn't be getting instant catch anyway. Unless you're cheating with the cvar I use for development. If you're not then something must be wrong on your server or something.
There is no usermessage, it just monitors if one of use and reload is held or pressed at same time the other button is held or pressed. It's all clientside.
I had no problems testing this on my dedicated server though.
Oh. In that case it is even more strange. Sometimes it doesn't work, but then after pressing them together with it not opening, it opens 3/4.
Redownloaded and it seems to have fixed the hook problem anyway. Thanks for the help.
There seems to be a problem with Heavy Weapons Guy, he won't stay attached to the hook, and I cant sell him
Buy a stronger hook.

Yeah, it says the usual

I get that with dead headcrabs and small gas canisters too.

For me, anything works but the ragdolls, so maybe it has something to do with the ragdolls?

Right, so I just reached level 10, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to catch a dumb fish, I get one, but it instantly unhooks itself and disappears, I have caught a shitton, because I am level 15 now.

Hold down E for two seconds then hit R while holding E
a menu pops up with four upgrade options
Think you could put some npc's in there too? (unless they are already in it ) And maybe you could make it so you can CATCH a boat. (sounds weird I know but it would be kind of cool to catch a boat and be able to use it)

It increases the length of it and you need to holster and select the rod again for it to change.
