Well bitcoin is more unstable than any other currency out there.
Not true the market is flooded with altcoins that are a lot more unstable
Not sure if this thread is serious...
Read carefully because my grammar doesn't flow how you might expect here: Don't think of bitcoin as a "virtual currency". It is a shared, distributed mathematically-verified "list of transactions" which is shared around the world and no central bank can moneyprint DarkRP-style to create more tokens for their friends to the exclusion of everyone else. Its value is its utility. You can send agreed value to the other side of the world in seconds with no bank to tell you you can't do it. Oh, it also can't be shut down.

It wouldn't be an even trade since bitcoins would fluctuate while the customer paid the exact price at that time, he has no risk. This is why bitcoins are more of an investment then actual currency, because at any time they could rise or lower.

It also means that the price is not going to go down massively - and if it does, it will come back up. The long term trend for bitcoin must be upward because it satisfies everything needed to be useful as a currency and there are still more people waiting to become aware of it and invest themselves. As the King of no P says, you can translate it to a different currency at point of sale.

Now coderhire is shutting down an alternative of it would be nice however the creator of it would have to be someone who is well trusted, not some guy that most people have never heard of :/
I may re-open my site... It wouldn't be bad to have over 400 tutorials and an area for purchasing / selling / jobs.... I would only have to bring my old content management system up to date a little bit and it'd be ready... I wish CoderHire could remain open, but I understand health problems all too well. I hope Adam is the opposite of me in terms of health issues where-as mine are getting worse over time, I hope he gets better.. It was a good site as it is, shouldn't need a whole lot of maintenance; maybe a few moderators to keep it straight.

CoderHire was my only way to earn money when I was assed to code, but now I'd rather have the whole game's community be creative and hire talented people individually than observe more duplicate "custom" servers and having a tiny bit of dosh.

Edit: Why does everyone hate Acecool's tutorials?
Why does everyone hate Acecool's tutorials?
Because of his coding style, I think. I do like some of the points he makes though,.
Because of his coding style, I think. I do like some of the points he makes though,.
I won't lie, I was just following the circlejerk about him. I'm sorry for his deseases, he may code fine but I just don't like his coding style.
I won't lie, I was just following the circlejerk about him. I'm sorry for his deseases, he may code fine but I just don't like his coding style.
Honestly, so was I. But I do have his coding standards file bookmarked, because I like the idea of having a consisted style.
No more fucking coder-hire. Maybe people will use custom content again. Maybe devs will code for the workshop, maybe gmod 14 will come out!
So it looks like theres place for a coderhire alternative after all ... :)
Wow...you guys actually shut down coderhire.
No more fucking coder-hire. Maybe people will use custom content again. Maybe devs will code for the workshop, maybe gmod 14 will come out!
I hope so. GMod 14 is not gonna happen any time soon though, Garry is too busy with Rust, he's fed up of GMod and I don't think Kilburn / Robotboy can't take such responsabilities, hell I don't think either they wouldn't even know what to change for the most part.
I dont think you guys get it...coderhire was the only place I could go to learn more about GLua (By helping and figuring other peoples stuff out in the jobs section). This is not what we were wanting! We wanted competition between sites! Not one site closing so another site would pop up that would be more unreliable and unsafe for devs and consumers! This is terrible :(
Yes, i can code, im currently developing a automatic donation system (Yhat you can checkout here: 84.16.197.166/donation) where im gonna use some of the money i earn on that to found the site im talking about here(If i make it a reality).
The fact that you can buy SUPER FREAKING ADMIN, let alone Admin/Moderator, is disgusting and should negate ALL trust from you, permanently. No body here even influenced the shut down, it was completely Adams decision.
Anyhow, back to the original topic, I think it might be a good idea to compile a list of what we DO want in a Coderhire replacement instead of what we don't want and debating the OP's ideas.

--snip-- i dont want to take part in this drama
Currently CoderHire has 97 members whom subscribed THIS month. That's equal to $1455 dollars in maximum potential profit. With all the stresses of managing the site and fixing all the wrongs, it doesn't seem worth it. Lua isn't encrypted, transactions can be faulty and you'd be dealing with dozens of 12 year-old kids bitching at you because they got scammed, or their scripts got leaked. If you ask me, again, it doesn't seem to be worth the trouble.
While a perceived need for a "coderhire" exists, someone will try to create another one. Those that are hoping for a return to how things were before coderhire (and put the blame on coderhire) might be disappointed when they find things don't return exactly to how they were before it (either way).
Gmod is going to continue being a copypasterino, because the majority of 13 year olds who play it don't realize they're being spoonfed the same content everywhere. Anyway, someone is bound to make another coderhire to try and make a profit themselves.
I actually came into ownership on coder launch and deleted everything and then gave it back lol! HAH!
I started making this a few months ago, if somebody wants to take inspiration for a new job posting site. I didn't like the buttons much. [t]http://i.imgur.com/M0DS5Fe.png[/t]
