I saw a job made by an ex-co-developer from a server I used to work on, contacted him, expressed that I would not help him with the job but I was interested in seeing the designs. He showed me the designs which I quite liked and quickly PM'd Adam to see if I would be able to create the designs and release them for free, with design modification of course, to which he responded saying I was allowed. Upon telling the job author I was going to create a design based upon his and release it publicly he got angry and messaged _Undefined and Kamshak. I was initially banned for having scripts I didn't own, due to having them from working on a server. Then my ban reason was changed to "being a dick" or something along those lines. Then finally it was changed to that of the screenshot and perma-banned by Adam himself (According to Kamshak). All attempts at contact, either via the contact form or Facepunch PM was futile.
P.S; sorry for wall of text.
tl;dr I saw a design, planned to imitate design for free, designer got mad and I got perma'd.

Not wanting to spam up the thread but yeah, I admitted it was a bit of a dick move, but the entire design was all in concept. Nothing had been made, was all just an idea. I ended up not making the design in the end because this situation sucked the enthusiasm out of me because I was trying to figure out how I broke the rules.
The reason my ban reason was changed to "being a dick" was because I said to Kamshak that I hadn't broken any rules and at worst I was being a bit of a dick and as I've stated previously, I would always modify the designs but still based upon it. I would've probably given credit to for the inspiration in the release.

Even if the ban may not be justified rule-wise, it's justified morally imo.
Imagine you design a HUD that e.g. has a dick as health bar which loses size when health's lost until it's gone and red hearts in every corner.
Suddenly some guy called Johnson comes across asking you if he can see it.
He proceeds with creating a HUD that looks exactly like that, just with cum coming out of it and a big fat red plus on it, and changes the hearts to cubes to release it publically.
It's not that big of a problem with e.g. simple UI designs, some simple designs just have the tendency to apper again and again, but the more complex it gets, the worse it is, especially if it is a complex design.
Sounds like a dickmove to me.

I agree, it's a dick move, but when I questioned Undefined about it he said it would be okay, just a simple, "no you can't do that" warning would've made me forget about it and do something else. Although the situation is similar to an idea because a design is just an idea expressed visually yet everyone (used loosely, I mean the expressive majority) said it would be fine for ideas.
