I agree, it's a dick move, but when I questioned Undefined about it he said it would be okay, just a simple, "no you can't do that" warning would've made me forget about it and do something else. Although the situation is similar to an idea because a design is just an idea expressed visually yet everyone (used loosely, I mean the expressive majority) said it would be fine for ideas.
There is nothing you can do. UI's for games isn't all you can design. There are lots of things. There are designs that have changed the way we live. I can see you wanting to be unbanned, but hey, it's his site - he can do with it what he wants as the owner. He is giving us the permission to use it.
CoderHire still bans for it. Ignore the latter part, was going to release for free, don't know where the "selling" came from, and designs would've been with modification. I know, I'm late.
It was my design for a rather high paid job at the time. He came to me expressing interest in doing the job, then after i showed him the design he then stated that he would make it and release it to everyone free. He said he didn't know clientside that well and would use code from one of rocketmanias scripts that he acquired being an ex developer for a community called dishonest gamers. I get the feeling when adam gave him permission that he didn't give adam the full story. Kamshak recieved a copy of the entire chatlog which he agreed showed malicious intent and also proved that jarva had code that he shouldn't have hence the ban.
Thats because you tried to rip it off a job after the client showed you the design skid...
I expressed at the time I was not interested in completing the job and just wanted to see the design. The fact that it was a job is redundant because I didn't care for the job anyway. I liked the design and thought it would be nice to add some variety to the available designs to hopefully allow more unique servers than CH clones.

To summarise, expressing interest in doing a job to get a hold of the design to then make for everyone for free is what you did. If the design was public sure... hence why the payday 2 and other huds were allowed. I even had issues with mine because of the font i chose which had been remedied. But lieing to a hirer to steal his or her design is not ok.
And the drama continues. Once again.
We can't have nice things because people like to argue. A lot. Is it because of me that they're arguing? I promise I'll be good so they don't divorice! On another note, I've been trying to brainstorm like crazy to release some good ideas to CH. So far nothing yet, any suggestions on what you guys to do come up with ideas?
Well since Kamshaks done Pointshop 2. Someone could do Fretta 2?
-snip-
Come on now, not giving all of the information available to better your own argument is also a dick move. This is what you sent me: To which I said no. You excluded the fact that you were speaking to someone about a job that you didn't plan on actually doing but stealing the design ideas (which hadn't been publicly posted) instead. You then proceeded to taunt the job creator about how you were just stealing the design and were going to release it publicly. This broke the "Do use your common sense." rule and you were consequently banned to protect other users.
"Do use common sense rule" Everything needs it.

But I never stated the job was being completed, which you assumed. I'm not asking for an unban now, nor am I trying to stir anything up, I just wanted to give heed to the people that it's a delicate situation and that they should be careful around the subject of mimicking ideas and scripts. However, I wish to not clog up this thread any longer, but first I want to apologise to Steeze for being a dick, at the time, and still now until it was clarified, I believed that I had done nothing wrong, because I didn't really look at the full picture. I also want to apologise to the rest of you for filling up this thread with my story and distracting from the main topic at hand.

After logging in today, it seems that my script reputation points have gone, anyone know why?
Not gonna respond to them because I lost the previous 2 with no response from paypal
Probably late, but be careful with no responses on chargebacks. As I ignored one chargeback which I lost it, plus got charged $20 for credit company fees which was more than that guy paid for my script. [editline]26th July 2014[/editline]
After logging in today, it seems that my script reputation points have gone, anyone know why?
You lose them when you receive bad reviews.
After logging in today, it seems that my script reputation points have gone, anyone know why?
I left a review a while back, but I got banned and banned reviews don't count. [editline]26th July 2014[/editline] You'll get it back in 6 months :P
Yeah paypal is pretty shitty for the options you can select with dealing with a chargeback.
Don't know where to post this as it has been my first problem with coder hire. I applied for a job on coder hire, but was not directly accepted by the job creator. Instead I was contacted through steam, where I completed the work, and was payed by a little under the advertised budget. After this, I was offered to complete some further work for him. He reversed the payments, and is not threatening to give me a negative reputation on coderhire, even though this is a seperate job. Sorry for this probably being in the wrong place, would just like _Underfined to look into this for me, and help me out.
Report the job on the site.
It appears the job no longer exists. This is the hirer here.
I got banned for "using leaked scripts" and I provided proof of the person accusing me of stealing them from their FTP sending them to me via skype, no reply since then... Never even used the scripts...

I only have screenshots of the updates I was giving him along the way. I have a few chat logs, but those only start when he disputed the payment.

Working on new donation script, going to release it somewhere next week.
Looks a lot nicer than the old one, good work :)
snip
you should add a hook on the server in lua to make sure a person can buy it (for example, someone is mod and they donate for mod again, return false in hook to make sure they can't buy it)

I'm currently thinking of making functions that would check for previous purchases. Or make lua code to store current user groups to the database, and then whitelist certain packages to certain groups.
