I was thinking along the same lines Derpalicious, past few days i've found maybe 3 or 4 scripts that i would like to buy, and then end up realizing that the developer doesn't have a subscription. I don't see how stopping people from purchasing a script benefits either coderhire or the developer, you could like Derp says take a percentage off if the developer doesn't have an active license or you could keep the funds until the developers fee is paid off then continue the payments to the developer.
Pretty sure Adam mentioned a while ago that all purchases go directly to the seller's paypal.
Even if that is the case which would make the percentage idea useless, coderhire could still switch out the developers paypal for there coderhire paypal. I'm sure this must be possible on the back end of the site.

i think people are misunderstanding my point, but i don't want to cause drama. So for example currently: - I find a script i want to purchase. - Realize the developer doesn't have a valid subscription. = i don't buy it = developer not making any money if developer makes no money then cant pay coderhire. but if it was like this: - I find a script i want to purchase. - Realize the developer doesn't have a valid subscription, however it is still purchasable (with maybe a note to say support is not guaranteed because developer is inactive). - I buy the script. - Money goes to coderhire instead. - Once the cost of the developer license has been paid off from purchases of the script/scripts. (in most cases this could be after 1 - 4 purchases) - paypal email switches back to the developer and the developer subscription is reinstated for a month. I don't see how this is bad to me it seems like a win situation for everyone, the buyer, the developer and coderhire. I can understand that some people may not be able to continually pay moth after month for the developer subscription. Anyways just my opinion i guess i'm just gutted i cant buy some scripts i would have really liked :/
Because then coderhire would get all the money that the developers should of got.

How about you can buy someone a subscription Or let's say you are selling something for $2 but no subscription. When a user attempts to buy it says "Developer hasn't paid for subscription, when purchasing this product you will receive it as any other person paying would, except the money isn't going to their paypal directly, but it will go towards their next subscription, if this purchase exceeds the amount for a subscription the left over will be sent to their paypal and they will receive their developer subscription" So if you are going good at selling addons it can auto renew just by your addons. [sp] On phone hard to type [/sp]

The payment goes straight to the seller because Adam does not want to have to deal with 12 year olds charging back scripts on their mums credit card. There's no real point in discussing alternatives because it is fine the way it is, why fix something if it aint broke.
Nearly everybody who purchases the subscription month after month earns a hell of a lot more than $15. If someone doesn't purchase the subscription again, it's because either their scripts don't make enough money to be viable, they don't want to deal with customers and support anymore, or they just hate money. The site has earned coders over $400,000 over the last year so it's pretty clear that $15 a month is well worth it if your scripts are worth selling.

On top of that, you pay for services - that's how the world works. Do you think Apple let people continue to have their apps on the store once their subscription expires? Do you think amazon continue to run servers on their hosting platforms if invoices aren't paid? The answer is no. Actually, why the hell am I defending having to pay for a service that literally earns you money. God damn.
I've been contacted a few times by people wanting to buy my Economy, but because I wasn't selling anymore I just tell them to download a leaked copy of it.
Do you think Apple let people continue to have their apps on the store once their subscription expires?
But Apple's developer subscription is only $99/yr :D
But Apple's developer subscription is only $99/yr :D
I aren't taking 30% of potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars on top of the subscription.
But Apple's developer subscription is only $99/yr :D
Take that and times it with 1,200,000 people .. now count how many devs CoderHire have. I'm sure Undefined will lower the subscription cost if there where more devs.

I just thought of something that might work with coderhire. Basically, a section where coders could post their portfolio and what they can / cannot do, and users could send them jobs directly, which could be accepted / declined.
... adam... are you OK?
I just thought of something that might work with coderhire. The poster would have to copy it all out and post it to a different coder. I suggest instead a way to post for anyone to see and then anyone interested can apply? Oh wait.

You can put basically anything in there at own will and if you can't do something that is requested in job - guess what! You don't freakin' apply for it. [editline]20th August 2014[/editline] Would be nice if the suggestions were actually useful from now on so Adam can't get any more 'zing' ratings from me :v:
I contacted the staff at Coderhire because I was unfairly banned. They replied once, but then never again. Is there another way to contact them?
I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there a way to add free content to Coderhire? Like a free section or something would be nice.
