Nah, it was on Coderhire.
Cant really blame Adam for it though, he's made a successful site off a cool concept. The Gmod community just has a lot of bad apples unfortunately
At least they're selling complete, working content. Instead of a game being cut up into DLC.

No...I mean that DLC's != Expansion, dlc it's just add few shits, expansion it's intended to add something big, the author decides if make this as update or make this as dlc
For more references about what a dlc is, look at Borderland store, where you must pay 0.99$ for each skin that you want to have, and for Expansions, nowaday it's like the sequel of the same game
I got a question about something. Say a user buys a script of yours but wants extra functionality and is willing to pay. Now, I do these under one condition: said feature be integrated into the public release for everyone else to enjoy as long as it's reasonably within the scope of the base script. I figure that the user gets what they wanted, everyone else gets extra functionality to work with and the feature stays supported for free. Does this seem fair?
I ask because some dude came to me asking for a relatively out there feature request and I told him I'd do it for $20 as long as everyone else got to use the feature and he reacted rather negatively, like I was trying to scam him or something.
I should make a thread with the sole purpose of cloning Coderhire addons for free release, I'm already almost finished with the TTT Death Faker
I think you should, and encourage people to do the same. It's really refreshing to see people actually do something productive instead of just sitting around complaining about shit they can't be bother to try changing. Keep up the good work, friend

Generally, if you're asking for this sort of thing, and willing to pay for it, it means you want it as an exclusive extra. It'd be kinda shitty that you specifically have to spend money on something that everyone else is going to get for free, if that makes sense. A good solution to this could be, either they pay and be the only ones who get it, or do it for free, but it's then added to the public release.

Don't be such a cheap skid.

Well potentially extended functionality would increase ya sales anyway. If its a good enough idea do it free, if its dumb then just do it for the guy. :P

I totally understand that but I dunno about the implications that it brings. I don't like having to create functionality for one of my own scripts and then giving a single person exclusivity over it, suddenly that feature is something off-limits and only for that single person. I figured that's why stuff like the shared licenses exist on jobs, so the coder isn't completely restricted in what they can do with their own code.

I have been planning to do exactly this, but I had in mind that I would be banned and whatnot.

As long as you don't copy paste the CH Addons, but insteed write your own code, you cannot get banned from CH for that.
You should add a function so you can buy scripts for people.
"Scripts cannot be added at this time."
Why's that?
CoderHire is closing?!?! First The Fappenning and now this, Christmas truly came early!
:D
RIP CoderHire - it's been a good run and I've had fun. :)
Oh, well, I guess I'll have to start a server to keep the money flowing.
Expecting a huge influx of Facepunch threads of people asking for Coders
Ugh
Guess I will just have to release the project I have been working on then.
There goes my dream of not taking money from parents to live off and buying gifts for my girlfriend.
Unless I find a day job, but I won't, because last time I did it I nearly got kicked out of univercity.
RIP Coderhire.

I hope someone will recreate it soon.
Wow; I didn't upload one of my scripts as a favor to a friend..... Now, with a broken neck and back I can't use Coderhire... I was looking forward to releasing my stuff on Coderhire to help cover medical and prescription costs... :-(
I wish you the best and hope your health issues will get better.
Why! ! How will I now earn money from making darkrp jobs or timers fuck... :/
Adam, please read the PM I sent you over on CH.
Hmm, i don't know why he doesn't pass it on as a company with contracts. i mean money was being made from the subscriptions.
I'll need to find a real job :downs:

Eh, I guess coderhire was a good source of income for many of us.
It let me pay for the school and relief my mom financialy, too bad Adam decided to close it, I hope he can get back to health.
Honestly I still don't see why he can't sell it as a company. It's a decent startup and with the amount of money flowing throught it he could sell it for a lot.
Wait, what happened?

Thanks, I read it before posting.
If he sells it then the data is not his problem anymore. This seems to be a really strange reason to not properly operate a company.
Or maybe he can get someone to run the site for him?
That's what people do when they can't be Julius Ceasar and do everything themselves.
No offense to Adam, but this is strange and egoistic. Coderhire will be eventually recreated by someone else, so why loose the potential profits and more importantly let god knows who define the commercial glua scene?

He's not going to change his mind
I wonder what Adam thinks about Coderhire being recreated. There is already a thread about it. And even I could recreate it alone in a few months, maybe faster.
Can someone screenshot the letter?
