then you might wanna go back to pre-school and learn to read.
tbh i think we should perm ban you from coderhire instead
tbh i think we should perm ban you from coderhire instead
Well I try to do something to help the community and all you guys do is complain... And ya that makes sense to ban the loyal customer and community member of CH. way to over-react.
No one gets so defensive over 11 lines of code which is not even his. You expect us to believe you when you fail to provide full proof and instead of doing that you start calling out names
Great, some guy just refunded my script because he got banned. I hope the paypal will not refund him, otherwise he'll be left with our scripts and since he got banned for 'attempting to sell other peoples scripts'.. you can tell yourself the rest.
the loyal customer and community member of CH.
If you're so loyal, you'd post the original I'm image to help prove your innocent. Loyal people wouldn't hide pertential evidence. Oh, and loyal people wouldn't be banned or getting mixed up in a banning situation ^_^
@Casper I think he contacted you because he somehow found out that someone made some script transaction with you. I don't think someone will just contact a loyal customer to give free/trade free script. I tried to get everyone who is selling/trading scripts banned and I found like 3-4 person and none of them contacted me.
is the only one of my customers affiliated with Fluffy Pancakes, and thus I think it's fair to conclude that he is the one sharing my addon.
No it isn't. It could have been someone who has been removed from Fluffy's friend list. It could've been someone who hasn't been on fluffy's friends list in the first place. Sure, it's likely to be Dingus, but the chance that you're wrong is far too big. A ban should not be based on the link between Fluffy and Dingus. That would be terrible.

[editline]7th November 2013[/editline] Regardless I've stopped caring too much about this episode in particular. I just think there should be a rule regarding "buying for others" and possibly an option for "gifting" addons to others which would eliminate all doubt in situations like this.
Do you always just argue for the point of arguing? It's obvious that it's Dingus and you know it.
Absolute nonsense! It's not strong evidence, and the chance that you were wrong using only that evidence is immense. I do not know it's obviously dingus. The exact thing I'm pointing out is that is isn't obvious. If coderhire people accept this shit as evidence, framing people to get banned will get pretty easy. It's like saying the person who spawned the prop is "obviously" the prop killer. That turned out to be a disaster. The case is exactly the same even: there's a link, but no conclusive proof. Assuming the link as true will get innocent people banned. I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing. I'm arguing that there's a good chance that you're blaming an innocent person.
I even asked him and he verified it.
That would chance the case. Proof of him verifying it would be much stronger evidence than what you had above.
-stuff-
I don't think it's fair to assume because someone is on the friends list of someone's means they're affiliated with them. I definitely don't think that's a good enough reason to presume they shared scripts either.

I could've easily faked those 2 images and people yet people would seem to believe what I've said is true regardless. We might as well just abolish 99% of all misuse cases as they can't provide any concrete evidence of said misuse. Proof is quite closely linked to (un)certainty as you can never have absolute knowledge of anything and thus justice tends to side with the most certain evidence. Maybe it is excessive drawing a conclusion from just a single link like that, but then I'm not sure where exactly we should draw the line. [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] My apologies for accusing you of "arguing for the sake of arguing", you've raised a fair point and I didn't think it through.

The doubt in your evidence was not even close to reasonable. I agree that images could be faked. Finding really solid evidence for these things is really hard. That does not imply that you can just go "fuck it" set the bar for valid evidence very low.

Are you seriously upset because he posted a code with a single http.Post and a giant switch case?
I'm curious, how do you guys deal with pirates? I've had 3 so far requesting technical support, 2 of who claimed a friend gifted my addon to them and the remaining who denied everything (despite not being able to prove his purchase). I suppose it's really not worth wasting time on them, and it's stupid to try fight piracy altogether when you can't provide evidence of beyond reasonable doubt anyway.
If they have a profile on the site we ban them. Anyone who can't prove they purchased, that is.
And how would I prove they have obtained my addon?
Screenshot of them asking for help with it and not being able to provide proof they purchased.
And similarly, how would I prove somebody who has purchased the script has been sharing it? [editline]8th November 2013[/editline]
Screenshot of them asking for help with it and not being able to provide proof they purchased.
Then I believe the image I provided on the previous page should suffice, should it not? Okay I dunno where the guy got my script from and it's really hard to get anything from him, but seems like he and his server owner both have the script without paying for it The guy that added me: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198025216787 The server owner: http://steamcommunity.com/id/kianb The screenshot link on my screenshot (inception lol): http://puu.sh/5cegz.jpg The server owners only friend that has purchased my script (and was on my list aswell) was this guy: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197985264163 Dunno if he gave it to them or just a coincidence So yeah admins, do your magic... investigation.. whatever

Do we really have to have all the drama in this thread? Just PM a member of staff.
Do we really have to have all the drama in this thread? Just PM a member of staff.
Well, I didn't mean to cause any drama. Also, if you take all the drama from this thread, we'll be left with people just telling others what they bought from the earnings.
