Could you get something done about waiting the full 1 month before realising you need to renew?
Though a message saying that this script isn't available for purchase would be nice.
people in the comments of my script are asking for a link to a video even though there is one in the description...
Whew, I just uploaded my first script to the site. Nervous but very excited.

Approved. It was a quite ago I saw an original HUD idea, so this goes into Staff Picks.
I tried closing the piracy announcement

Oh my, thank you. So cool, my first script gets staff pick. Just plain awesome.

Out of interest. How is a HUD idea blatantly copied from GTA V in any way original?
Out of interest. How is a HUD idea blatantly copied from GTA V in any way original?
Because it hasn't been seen on CH yet?
Out of interest. How is a HUD idea blatantly copied from GTA V in any way original?
Why is anything on CH original? 95% of it has been done before. Except i've never seen anyone personally make a hud like that
Out of interest. How is a HUD idea blatantly copied from GTA V in any way original?
Because it has not been done in gmod yet. Also it is not a 'reskin' or 'sleek edit' of the existing
DarkRP HUD. We review at least 3-4 of those a week. It is getting anoying.
*cought* took me 7 minutes to make this *cought*

And yes, I know it looks sucky lol.
@Edit: I just realised that someone might think that I am trying to complain, but I am in fact trying to prove that such HUDs do not take 5 minutes and they should be accepted if the idea is atleast a bit original.

if you don't, I'll pay the loss for you.
very rarely does a script not make $15
Why is it so hard to come up with creative ideas
its like I was working on a custom coupon/code system that rewards people and even lets the owner to make his own codes and rewards without any lua knowledge but suddenly my windows decides to go retarded and I had to format, then after I do so I notice that the same (or close) same fucking thing is already made and sold over 60 copies
fuck my life

I second this motion, Neth.
You've actually got me interested now in how the minimap works - because apart from that, everything else is pretty simple.

Then here is the code for the minimap only:
[lua]local MapData = {}
MapData.angles = Angle(90, LocalPlayer():EyeAngles().yaw, 0)
MapData.origin = LocalPlayer():GetPos() + Vector(0 ,0, 500)
MapData.x = 15
MapData.y = ScrH()-135
MapData.w = 210
MapData.h = 105
function mahBitchinHUD()
render.RenderView( MapData )
end
hook.Add('HUDPaint', 'mahBitchinHUD', mahBitchinHUD)[/lua]
Remember to keep the MapData outside the function thought.

Awfuly formal, but alright, you are welcome.

Would it be more proper to use Dziękuje, in this case, then? (I speak very little Polish, so yeah.)

Would people like to move to a payment system (for developers) where the site requests 10% of your earnings for the previous month (which would be paid through PayPal) instead of the subscriptions? It'd work where if you don't pay within 2 or 3 days after the end of the month your subscription would end until you'd paid.
Taking payment cuts instead of an upfront fee has been a much requested thing, but I aren't sure what the reception would be now.
There would probably be the same initial $10 or $15 payment to get into the developer subscription to avoid situations where people decide not to pay after the month, and also as a deterrent for people trying to sell any random crap from the workshop/garrysmod.org.
Also script versioning is coming this evening/tomorrow.

If mods is ready to look at 10000 public realesed DarkRP HUDs then this is a good idea with paying fee´s. Random people would try to sell millions of public scripts
I feel a sort of system like that would treat people who put up products that don't sell quite as well as they intended a lot kinder than the current one, so I think it could work well.
It'd be a huge bummer for people who make scripts that do sell well. If anything, make it optional. I wouldn't use it though.
Why not do a system that instead of paying the developer directly, it goes into your funds, and the developer can request/automatically receive payment - a % cut for you?

I don't want to have to put up with chargebacks and the possibility of my account getting limited because of 12 year olds.
So, basically. You pay the developer subscription upfront and then 10% of your earnings monthly afterwards? Seems too much.
I just randomly took the first five staff featured picks. Here's some calculations (average).
Note that these results may not be realistic, these scripts are being advertised unlike others and this also excluded sales and other forms of deals.
$15 sold 83 times in two months.
(15 x 83) / 2 = $622,50 dollars x 0.10 percent = $62.25 - $15 fee = paying $47.25 more than usual.
$20 sold 38 times in three months.
(20 x 38) / 3 = $380 dollars x 0.10 percent = $38 - $15 fee = paying $23 more than usual.
$5 sold 50 times in two weeks, assuming sales double for this month that is $5 sold 100 times in a month.
5 x 100 = $100 dollars x 0.10 percent = $10 - 15 fee = paying $5 less than usual.
$20 sold 45 times in two months.
(20 x 45) / 2 = $450 dollars x 0.10 percent = $45 - 15 fee = paying $35 more than usual.
$20 sold 53 times in one month.
20 x 53 = $1060 dollars x 0.10 percent = $106 - $15 fee = paying $91 more than usual.
I feel really weird making these calculations, that is loads of money... am I doing something wrong? Why do I still stock shelves? Is the matrix telling me something?
Also, I'm bored. But yeah, this should fairly quickly bias some opinions on this new percentage possibility.
My solution?
Allow people to lengthen their subscription whenever they want to if not already possible.

It is a lot of money, but then people are making a lot of money too.
You can already extend your subscription when you like.
