Hey guys, the initial point was that ways to decrypt cs lua are public.
If one person, or a small of group people crack your encryption, then it doesn't matter.
It only matters if everyone can do it, not just the ones with the ability to reverse code.
but.. everyone can do it they just have to poke around on skid sites for info on how to do it
but.. everyone can do it they just have to poke around on skid sites for info on how to do it
Again, if it's posted on a forum, it's public. And for something to go public it has to be well known and some skid who got info a from a guy who actually knows what he's doing has to leak it. That's a very slow process and it won't happen for pointshop skins/other coderhire scripts if it's that tideos.
Edit:
Well that depends on everyone using different encryption/obfuscation methods.

nobody is using obfuscation for their coderhire scripts or encryption. most people accept that clientside files are on the client.

Yeah, that's why I posted the idea of doing it here.
Anyway I guess it's discussed enough now.

let's stop
Going back to Git implementation, how would this work?
I've got a private repository for all code I create before uploading to CoderHire, primarily for backing up more than anything.
I will have a public one too, with random shit in it people could find useful, but again, for private repo's I guess we'd be using the git API.
~No idea what i'm talking about here.
withdrawing an application gives me a 503, please dont let me be stuck with this moron
Looks like my script has been leaked.

Here's his steam profile:

I couldn't find if he had a coderhire profile. I also looked through his friends to see if he had anyone who purchased my script added. I don't see anyone in particular. I'll make a new post if I find out something more.

woops! forgot to add my own script that got leaked: http://coderhire.com/scripts/view/650

not suprising, good scripts are coveted by pirates as well
I'm sorry if I come out dumb but how hard would it be to make a thing where scripts can query the steam ID, then if the ID is in the list of who bought the script - script would work, otherwise it won't.
They would need to put the Steam ID themselves, once a steam ID is put and the server (coderhire) verified the Steam ID it sends info back to the script, bounding the script to that specific ID so people can't use that steam ID again (perhaps sellers can choose how many times a steamid can be used, or grant uses on the fly)
And I understand people can just remove the verification, but we can make it much harder for them to remove it by making a lot of checks to see if the verification passed, since they will remove it it will error for them.
Sure it's not the best protection ever but it's way better than sitting here and doing nothing but arguing.
Is it possible or am I just high?
[lua]function YourSuperFancyCheck()
return true
end[/lua]
Though I guess it would probably fool script kiddies.
That's why I said have checks, 90% of the people who buy scripts and later share them (and those who buy them from the sharers ) wouldn't know how to fix it, since it'll error all the time.

The same guy added me recently asking about my printers, I've talked to Handsome Matt about this and he talked to Kirby, I think he is trying to frame some guy because when I asked him who gave him it, he pointed me to one of guys who bought my script, althought the guy said he did not give it to anyone.
Please contact Matt about this

You can do many checks with the http library and simple php scripts.
That'll stop the people who have no clue about lua.
Why isn't there any fees on price and sales price changes? It doesn't make sense to me that you can change your price as you see fit any time you want.

Why the only people moaning about prices/fees are the people who haven't put anything on the sales ?

I hope you don't always comment like that with "facts" without doing any researches before.
Could always pack a module /exe etc etc that checks hwid and all that shit, if you really want to get that technical

Because thats dumb. My ac was $25 and i changed it from 25-->15-->10 now
Im not paying to change the price though
I hope you don't always comment like that with "facts" without doing any researches before.
Yeah, I mostly don't but I was in hurry this time.
I quoted you but my reply wasn't really releated to you only, but to moaning people in general.
Please don't, I'm not moderating anymore.
No worries, I think it's a small leak (If he's trying to frame someone like netheous said, he probably doesn't even have it) so I wasn't really worried. I'll most of the time only contact moderation if it's a pretty serious leak.
What's the point of denying a script because it's set as offline? :v:

Why would anyone get a notification from me putting up a script?

They don't. They do when approved, which is why it was denied.

Anyone signed up for notifications for the tags on the script.
