Good news everyone!
What is it?
Uhh, I'm getting a hunch some little people are trying to frame me for something? I had two people add me, one who I knew about a year ago, and someone else who I don't know if I know or not... This is the convo with them... http://puu.sh/5t96y.png This is the convo with the other... http://puu.sh/5t9dM.png Please note, I haven't leaked fuck all... I haven't bought anything in ages, as I hardly play garry's mod anymore (The only time I do, is a TTT server which I play a few rounds every few days). I don't know what these 2 people are trying to do, I just want to give a heads up to avoid future frustration/confusements...
Don't worry about being banned for using names on steam/other sites. We aren't going to ban for it. The initial wave was the only time we could ban for names because now the children will be impersonating everyone else. Pointlessly and hilariously. Unless the chat is coming from the same steam account registered on coderhire for that user, anyway.
What is it?
It's releated to something I've used in the past to track people who share my script with others and removed it afterwards and I wanted to post a little bit about that, but this place is full of spies. Slayer is thinking CM Punk did it, hence his previous comment, but i'll calm him down, he's just a little upset, and I can see why :v:
This is facepunch after all, remember that.
Yeah, I have almost forgot about it.

Thanks for finding that post. Where are you lot finding these? Is there a leak site people have been using? I haven't paid much attention recently, been playing my csgo server ;P Tbh, if I still had a gmod server and really wanted scripts, I still wouldn't go somewhere to get them free. Talk about ruining server rep -_-

I knew slayer as an old old old admin I had, was always annoying and kiddish, so I didn't really care what he had to say anyway. But what I don't get is, why did his friend Chris think i leaked something? If pheonix said it was to do with me, why me? ;S what gave them the idea i leaked something? This might be blunt but if I see another shitty -DG OWNER- tag I will be on the urge to do something tragic. So fucking annoying.
A lot of people are mad they got banned for leaking and want to take people down with them. The only way you're going to get banned right now is if we find that files you've downloaded have been redistributed or we're provided with good proof that you are using or have shared purchased scripts. Any kiddies impersonating others is utterly pointless.
@topic switch@ I hate the fact that my only bad review for this script: http://coderhire.com/scripts/view/279 is caused by the fact that I didn't want to spend my evening reading Exsto's code to find out why it's blocking money pickup function in my printers.
Your explanation of "Nope" when asked if you could fix it just might have been a contributing factor to that.
Sometimes I forget to list a feature in my version changes description. Could we have the ability to edit them?
Sometimes I forget to list a feature in my version changes description. Could we have the ability to edit them?
Coming soon with the github and some other stuff update.
Hopefully if we make developers use GitHub we'll be able to pick up on this with git changelogs.
The way you said that sounded like _Undefined's made you a moderator again :) FYI, this wasn't intended as an insult.
The way you said that sounded like _Undefined's made you a moderator again :)
this is a very bad post that can be seen as offensive lol
Doesn't a private github cost money or am I mistaken?
Yes but bit bukkit doesn't.
I have a serious question here. I've put up several jobs in the past, and I've noticed that for several of them people want the coding for other scripts I have to be able to work off of. I usually try and deny people these requests and don't accept their application if this happens, because I'm worried about people using jobs as a way to get scripts to leak. Is it possible that people are getting leaked scripts this way, and what should us (the job creators) do about people asking for our coding to be able to complete jobs we submit?
http://coderhire.com/scripts/view/355 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=184025769 ?????????? gee this doesn't look suspicious at all. [editline]25th November 2013[/editline] the code is 100% copied except for the SWEP.author which was obviously changed to hide the fact that this was blatantly copied. [editline]25th November 2013[/editline] filed a dmca with valve.
Doesn't a private github cost money or am I mistaken?
Not if you're a student.

There a lots of instances of the actual purchasers leaking scripts. That said, you should try avoid sending anyone any part of the code.
What's the point of leaking a script if you bought it? You gain nothing other than a chance of losing all future updates to the scripts you own. Is it just hurr durr I want rep on a leaks site?

They see that someone is making 50, 100, 200 dollars off of what they perceive to be something that they could have done themselves, but were just too disinterested or bored or something to do it. The fact that they're untalented, useless wastes of space never comes into the picture. They perceive this as unfair. "Why is he making all this money doing what anyone could do?" So they want to get back at this person as best they can. Well, the best way to do that is to hurt their sales, by leaking their script. Sure you pay for the script once yourself, but it ensures that much fewer people will buy the script. That's the thought process.
This isn't the way it generally happens. There a lots of instances of the actual purchasers leaking scripts. Or should these people not make jobs and just go to the original author?
What would be the best approach if you require access to some other script for a job? Or should these people not make jobs and just go to the original author?
Go to the author first. If they won't do it then make a job.
So I was perusing the jobs section in search of new and interesting forms of pornography when I came across something interesting; jobs aren't removed when the poster is banned.

"Great script, and easy to use!" He rated it a 60% (3/5), which I find kind of odd if he liked it... [editline]26th November 2013[/editline] Not upset, confused.
