Clearly not.
Family share probs.
Accounts are disabled if they don't own the game and aren't enabled unless we do so manually, so the account won't be enabled automatically just because you bought the game afterwards. In this case, it won't be enabled manually because someone who didn't own the game has no business on the site.
But can you enable the account now? He knows lua and all and wants to start doing stuff for gmod thats why he bought the game.
So I koz showed me this, I checked if he bought my script and I found out that he did not. Prof. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1358377&p=43769498&viewfull=1#post43769498 Coderhire account: http://coderhire.com/users/view/9129 I am pretty sure he is leaking scripts since he got my scoreboard.
Lol I knew you would do something if you got the ip. You can kindly stop spamming my website with bots or I will report this to staff on here.
context: I helped this guy get his stupid mysql database working and he was reluctant to give away his credentials. now he's blaming me for something that is almost certainly just a fucking webcrawler bot. can someone teach this clown how the internet works [editline]3rd February 2014[/editline] fyi: I don't even remember the db ip, even if I did why the fuck would I send some spambots after it
Idk why people are so uncertain about giving mysql creds when its empty because he never set it up in the first place He could literally set it to only be accessibly by his server.
I don't know why a lot of scripts require a MySQL database, when they're clearly not built for multiple servers. Just use SQLite?
SQLite is very limited in its capabilities. For example, it lacks stored routines such as functions and procedures, among those are events and triggers as well. Beyond that, concurrency and access control is severely limited too. Of course, it's a minority of people who actually use databases to their fullest extent so this is typically not needed, but it's something I make heavy use of though.
I don't know why a lot of scripts require a MySQL database, when they're clearly not built for multiple servers. Just use SQLite?
I'm sorry but this post made me facepalm.
I don't know why a lot of scripts require a MySQL database, when they're clearly not built for multiple servers. Just use SQLite?
Since when MySQL is for multiple servers? MySQL is just better in so many cases -performance -e.g Can be accessed by Websites -dynamicly add things (for example RoundEnd-Sounds) -(Multiple Servers :v:)
Please tell me of one script that has ever taken advantage of those.
Just because the majority of people are too stupid to take advantage of some really powerful features doesn't mean nobody uses them. As I said in my post, I certainly do. And beyond that, I personally know several developers who do as well. Most of my interaction with my database is through stored routines and I use triggers to either automate processes or do more complex forms of data integrity checking. My point is, the "private" developers community is much more active in making use of complex and powerful features such as this, just because its use lacks presence in the public means absolutely nothing. Also, to ask me to point out any specific public script that uses these features is simply ridiculous, I've never purchased a CoderHire script and I never deal with other people's code.
I don't know why a lot of scripts require a MySQL database, when they're clearly not built for multiple servers. Just use SQLite?
I have no clue, all I know is that half the people who bought my script wanted it so I did it. Personally I would've just symlinked the data folders across my own servers but that's not an option with GSPs I guess. I thought it would've been much better on preformance than just jsoning tables but as it turns out mysqloo waits on every query for a tiny bit unless you wrap everything in a big transaction and even then it takes 200ms to save a full server's worth of data. without the transaction: 7 seconds. in the end I wound up jsoning everything anyways instead of doing it the "proper" way because it somehow managed to be significantly faster. anyways, follow up: "I'm reported you to _Undefined" and I kinda panicked and sent _Undefined a longass pm with my side of the story, it was like 2am so I was tired as shit and in retrospect this dude's a loon and I doubt anything will happen to my coderhire account :v
I read both PM's and dismissed them as crazyness and/or a reaction to crazyness.
It's wonderful having worked on a script for a client, changing some things they continue to ask and then having them try and go behind your back to "cancel your application" when the job is finished in two days. No communication whatsoever. Not to mention this guy has tried to change the job on me and add more things (not in the original description) and then tell me I HAVE to do it.

The person I dealt with was a kid who had no capacity of empathy whatsoever. The result was that he simply didn't see that asking more = more work. Changing your mind often = assloads of work thrown away and starting all over. "oh and could you make just one more thing? I promise it's the last thing and it's not that big"
SQLite and MySQL have different uses, MySQL isn't ideal for data that's only ever accessed by one server. As for performance; "MySQL's faster" isn't necessarily true. For example, if I wanted to look up a name from my client, I'd need to factor in latencies between the server and the MySQL server and it would probably end up being slower (client -> server -> mysql server -> server -> client). Not only do latencies slow it down, but it's generally pretty heavy-weight even when not sending a lot of queries. I needed to slow down MySQL::Poll because of excessive lag on a large DarkRP server (3rd most expensive hook, 2nd being voice and the first being GM:CalcMainActivity).
Please tell me of one script that has ever taken advantage of those. [editline]4th February 2014[/editline] Y'know.. Since it connects to an external database.. As for performance.... Sure I mean, if you're running a local MySQL server where there would be minimum latency, but what's the point in that; you're not exactly offloading the load.
Well, the obvious answer why people use MySQL: wipes to sv.db...
-snip, nevermind, problem solved-
CoderHire should get an own category on clientsfromhell.net :v:
Hey, does anyone have previous experience with hiring people to edit private stuff you have?
Not sure if this has been requested before, but it'd be nice to see in your scripts comments if the commented user has access to the script at the time the comment was made.

Hey, I've noticed before the website has advertisements for the ServerGuard thing. Is that a paid thing that anyone can do? I don't recall any information about this being posted.
Is the site extremely slow for anyone else?
Can you enable my brother's acc now? This is his steam Id STEAM_0:1:50947158 And this is his profile link http://steamcommunity.com/id/sdmon

I've already replied to you why I aren't going to enable it. Someone who doesn't (or didn't) own Garry's Mod has no business on the site.

Just when I thought I won't be getting any more stupid reviews.. [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/6RqXE.png[/img_thumb] Well, I'll cut the review into parts so it's funnier: - "Maybe its just me but had problems setting up after about 5 messages seller refused to answer me for 20 dollars you'd think he'd show a little bit of compassion." - Oh, I do feel 'compassion' for your teachers, friends and anyone else who gives you directions - "Apperantly setup involves your .lua folder never saw anything of that in directions." - http://puu.sh/6RrQE.PNG - "I recevided a message from him saying I cannot follow directions and he wont answer me anymore" - Oh, so I am supposed to keep replying "copy what's inside the downloaded folder and paste to garrysmod/garrysmod" until he gets annoyed and bursts into rage?.. Hell, I even made a freakin gif (look on the bottom) - "I'm not very good with this I know my problem is prob unlikly but you think for 20 dollars he wouldn't be so lazy." - Yeah, being a simpleton is really 'unlikly' @Edit: Aw yeah, there is more of this: The guy added me, I tried to help him but... see for yourself.
