I'm trying to follow up on the moderation board, but I seem to be the only one doing anything. I've left several mod notes on undecided scripts because I can't decide whatever to accept or deny it (the stamina script being one of them).
I just hope it's not a 5 second script, because even if it looks rather simple, I put some time into this. And everyone is free to give suggestions.
Has this guy bought any scripts? Just wondering because of this.

2AM, give me a break.
Apparently someone[sp](Mors Quaedam) [1x disagree][/sp] knows something I don't about Coder Hire.

He probably hasn't, but that wouldn't prove he actually uses leaked scripts. Although I must admit he's acting suspiciously.
Also, I played on a DarkRP server yesterday and people wanted to know my opinion about CoderHire. Some people say it ruins servers' originality. I don't feel much for that argument. Different servers have different scripts and different configs for said scripts. I'm fine with CoderHire, and I lurk on this thread. The things I hate about CoderHire are really things that aren't really the website's fault:
the drama
scripts that edit DarkRP core files (haven't seen these lately)
the addon limit causing people to think I broke DarkRP
Shitty anti prop kill scripts, holy shit I hate those so much
Malicious or otherwise easily exploitable code in scripts (like ATM). Workshop has this problem too.
People earn more with a shitey HUD than I ever have with DarkRP, but that's really because I work with donations and I don't shove a PayPal button in everyone's faces.
Other than that I'm fine with custom HUDs, scoreboards, custom printers, ATM and all those things. I'd say CoderHire has a good influence on DarkRP, but many people will disagree with me here.
How is CoderHire for TTT and other gamemodes? Same arguments as DarkRP? (no server is original anymore)

I think CoderHire really ruins TTT servers. Since we have CH, server owners don't really need to script any more, if they have money. They would just slap everything they found on CH and call it custom. You would join a server and know exactly what every weapon does / is. I am admin on a TTT server that perhaps has two CH addons and a lot of custom weapons, created by the owner mainly.
Config files don't really change much in my opinion, most of the addons are still quite the same, I mean, you can't really make a new hud changing some config options.

True, but the billions of choices for HUDs make it so each server can have a semi-unique one.
most ive seen just use that dumb sleek skin

I don't really play ttt for "semi-unique" hud or pointshop or whatever skins though, I couldn't care less tbh.
Most of the "custom" weapons and items just break the overall balancing too. I've even seen servers trying to implement things that cost multiple credits even though it would clearly break the game even more (see ttt documentation/design philosophy).
In conclusion I don't really think you need any ch addons to get "popular" anymore, maybe someone should try it.

I've said this before and I'll say it again; the exact same thing happened before Coderhire existed, but people were complaining about addons being from the workshop. It's essentially the same situation, however coders can now get paid for putting in time and effort to make things. Also remember that the average gmod user is very different to the average Facepunch user; the former probably doesn't even know what Coderhire is and actually may prefer to play on a server with commonly found addons, because they are already familiar and used with it.
Obviously, there are some bad aspects, like a server creates a unique mechanic, a coder sees that and thinks they could make a lot of money by recreating it and selling it. It can also be sad to see servers with unique mechanics get buried beneath piles of unoriginality, but I don't think it's fair to blame Coderhire for this. Like, everyone has different reasons for making a server, some people just want to play around with cool shit with friends.

You don't, really. You can get popular without them. I did it before with one of my previous servers. For TTT servers to really be successful, I think you need:
- good admins who catch and take care of RDM and don't abuse
- to know how to play the game
Honestly, with TTT I find most people (based off what I've asked new people who join my servers) who like to stay is because of lack of abuse by admins and how efficiently RDM is handled. So for the core of TTT, keeping people is just a matter of how well its actually run, not what coding you have.
Though I'd say largely what attracts people in the first place, at this point, is what coding you have. While I've seen some fairly successful "vanilla" servers, I've noticed that people start to see some coding on some servers and want it on the servers they frequent most often.
Another thing to take into considerate with TTT especially, not sure about others, is that the gamemode isn't just based or reliant on the content/weapons, but the players too.
Like, if your server is full of funny, welcoming people who interact with randomers, people will be more inclined to come back than a server with unique content where the regulars are elitist/arrogant assholes.

I strongly agree with you.
TTT is based on human interaction, not on content and fun sweps you can use.
Another example is GoFish, it's boring to play alone, but fun to play in groups and chat.
Totally not in the actual conversation, but I'm quite annoyed. This morning, my script (a stamina bar script who limits jumping and running) got denied for being a 5 second script, while I waited 2 days for getting any feedback. This made me sad, knowing this originally was for a job, I've worked a bit hard on it and I'm adapting it for being a sell-able script. I added some code and I want to resubmit it, but I just don't want to be banned in case it's still considered a 5 second script.
What should I do?

If you believe you can improve it to 'not be a 5 second script' and you feel it's good enough to resubmit, just go ahead. You shouldn't be banned as far as I know, they'll simply deny it again if they don't feel it's at the sufficient standards. It's kind of at the discretion of the moderator approving it.

The first two things I submitted were denied for being "5 second scripts" I was kinda upset but I picked my self back up and improved them, and now they are on CoderHire. Don't worry about being banned or anything, as long as you don't just keep resubmitting and you actually add or change something then I'm sure it will get approved.
Thanks guys, I resubmitted it and it got approved and some people are buying it already! :)

I can't freakin believe it.
Guy purchased my script, downloaded it, 10 minutes later he refunded it and yet they returned him the cash and charged me with a fee..
Paypal support is fucking retarded.
Point out they just broke their own policy.

I just realised picture has my name in it.
Anyways, the dispute says that it was closed because "Because you have not met Seller Protection performance requirements , "
I would disputed the charge further. Paypal needs to understand that these are digital goods and that if they get access to the item they purchased they effect get their money back and the item. It's basically like paypal is allowing the user to social engineer.

Have you lost in previous chargebacks? Something people may not realize is that the more you lose chargebacks, the harder it gets to win them.

Call them; when you have the executive office on the phone, it tends to get the ball rolling. I had to deal with chargebacks in the past of tangible goods where a guy ordered a product, and on the order-page told me to put his boyfriends name on it in addition to his. He tried doing a chargeback because they broke up but he didn't get the package. After posting the evidence showing the boyfriend received it and wasn't releasing it is a civil suit against the ex-boyfriend and not my problem, they still wanted to do a refund. After calling them and explaining things in more detail on top of the evidence, they saw that what I said made sense and took care of it for me.
Google "gethuman paypal" and you'll be directed to a nice site; call them using your Google Voice number, or make one if you don't have one!

non tangible = seller wins completely if he's done it via bank/card etc.
If it's unauthorized (he tells paypal his acc is hacked) he will also most likely win.
If he just says product not as described etc then the seller wins instantly (Providing the right checkout circumstances where met and coderhire isn't setup as if it's a physical purchase etc).
We don't take delivery addresses so physical item delivery is impossible. If they chargeback falsely you can talk to the paypal fraud department and they will investigate further with the CC company.

Ah good, although sadly the chances of success in that regard is slim.
