Noodler didn't really do much other than think he's hilarious, and stroke himself off in the corner. It's crazy what you can do when you're not antagonizing everyone for no reason.
Got you to make the judging system public and fair, wouldn't call that not doing much, you're right! :))))
There was a reason Noodles was banned twice off the forums, and on the Discord as well.
Because you and your judges get triggered when confronted with the truth you are all majorly unprofessional and lack the skills required to hold a functional competition? XDDDDD

What about judging itself? I would like to judge, but who all gets to judge? Will we be discounted if we know any of the participants? Is there a judge limit? How will judges submit their judgement?
Hey guys, hope you're all having fun and everything's going well with those gamemodes!

I know the DarkRP edit I'm submitting on an alt is going well! I call it - SeriousRP. It's gonna win the competition for sure!
On a real note though I'm happy with the progress everyone has posted so far. We have the whole of December, so let's make the most of the time we have! As I've stated before as well - don't hesitate to ask any questions. I'm not a terrible person. I won't bite.
yay, finally here!

I tried to ask you a question on steam and you've removed me from friends. :P

Did a cleanup of my friends recently, feel free to add again or PM.
Aaaand I'm out, as sadly I won't have enough time to participate.
Best of luck to everyone!
I'm sure some amazing gamemodes will come out of this.
I've got a playable alpha test server for Assassins available here:
IP: 149.56.124.196:27025
Password: "facepunch"
You can download the content here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104427432/Assassins%20Content.zip
Obviously, no judges allowed. The game needs 3 people to start. You can say "/bot" (or run 'add_bot' in the console) to add bots.
I'll be doing my coding on this server too, so if you join be prepared to have the round reset every time I apply a change.
If you find any errors please PM me. :)
Controls:
E - Assassinate
Alt - Blend
Q - Use grapple hook (ledges only)
Left Click - Lock target
Right Click - Zoom view
ConVars:
`ass_music 0` - disable music
`ass_auto_crouch 0` - disable automatic crouch-jump while sprinting

Hey man, everything in your OneDrive is public.
EDIT: Tried out the gamemode, very cool.
Hey man, everything in your OneDrive is public.
Thanks for the warning. :)
EDIT:
Switched to dropbox.
Obviously, no judges allowed.
Why is this obvious? It's not breaking any rules if we check out what you're doing before the end of the competition or anything.
[editline]editline[/editline]
Unless you'd just prefer we don't see it yet

Bingo. It's pre-alpha, which means playing it now would spoil the final product or ruin the anticipation. Where's the fun in that?
The competition has hit a total of $2,000 for the prize pool! Just a reminder that the competition's final day is January 3rd.
Submissions will take place that day, and will not be counted after 12 AM Eastern.
Gonzalolog was right about needing to optimize my nextbots. My net graph looks like a wall of blood.
The main issue is that any map that's good with my gamemode is usually quite open. I found a map which fits so perfectly it hurts but good lord was it poorly optimized. Not a single hint in the map, and most of the map geometry consisted of prop_static's.
I'm definitely learning a lot about mapping and visleafs. I've brought the vvis.exe compile time from 14 minutes to 34 seconds and the average FPS from 50 to 170.
I swear in these competitions I always spend about 20% of my time fixing up a map to suit my needs.

At least you're not spending literally half of the competition working on a broken ass AI project for school.
Do you need to create a nav mesh manually for every map, or are they automatically generated?
Do you need to create a nav mesh manually for every map, or are they automatically generated?
Manually, but I have a few tools which speed up editing quite a bit.

Don't you mean 34mins? I always though that a good vis always took much longer

I'm guessing that because he's defining much of the vis manually, the compiler doesn't need to spend nearly as much time deciding where to put them. Only needs to compile them.

Do the sound effects for the point gains sound fitting to you? Not sure if I like them or hate them.
Should have your girlfriend make all the sound effects.
I've scrapped my 5 ideas and then i always end thinking in TTT or Murder as theme
Damn son...
Edit:
Oh my...I think i found my final idea, i'll wait to reg for tell me if is enough stupid...
Does utility code I used for a previous gamemode (before the competition started) have to be approved by judges?
Does utility code I used for a previous gamemode (before the competition started) have to be approved by judges?
I'm using ARCLib and they don't mind. So probably not.
This doesn't show any gameplay thing, so i think is okay if i show it
