I couldn't think of anything to submit. Who else is still in?
I'm having a great time fucking around with the parts of my GM that do work. Instead of, you know, actually implementing all the stuff that I want to.

Also, sorry if I've missed this, but when exactly does the compo end. I need to know which day to pull the all-nighter.
I'm still in, although my gamemode which I thought to be quite simple in its play at the beginning has become weirdly complicated, like you forget to use certain abilities that are essential to win. The gamemode's basically to run away from a killer, but to survive you need to screw over your teammates and sacrifice them instead of yourself. You can use a Sense ability by holding Shift and Alt which lets you see other Runners so you can run to them in a chase, but sometimes we just run mindlessly without holding Alt. I might need to simplify it a bit. Since I'm posting I might as well share some footage, but I don't really have anything to show off so have a gif of the viewmodel animations I made for it.
For anyone interested, here is my design document. No gamemode was actually made because I am a loser \o/ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yM003Qf-HHKSgsp8BJF3c2AyDC377ixXsqFnrekMznw/edit?usp=drivesdk

By the way, if you donated and I haven't collected from you yet - please contact me. It's real easy, and should only take a few minutes.
Goodluck with the entries guys - hopefully a good game-mode or something different is born.
With moving i couldn't spend the right time on my gamemode It sucks ball...But well, i'll release it once it's done, since i just created the base gameplay
When exactly is the last time to submit and how does submissions work? Also have some gifs from the various stages of development of my gamemode: The effect when a player gets a clone (from getting another player killed instead of themselves) When you hit a fake player (using a clone, the transparent guy behind him) When you die and become a skeleton (He's t-stance because he stood still) A door system that I ended up scrapping because they kept falling off the hinges for everyone but me. They can still be enabled with a convar. In the gamemode one thing you can do to screw over other players is to grab them and throw them towards the killer. At some point in development there was no speed limiter on grabbing players. Then you could do stuff like this
That door system seems really cool. Imagine the panic that would follow if you were being chased.
When exactly is the last time to submit and how does submissions work?
Yeah, this is more what I was looking for. I just woke up so I guess I'm ready for the final stretch, but it would be nice to know exactly when the deadline is. Your entry looks pretty hype by the way.
Deadline was in the OP and the home page, but it's January 3rd at 12 AM Eastern going into the 4th. So you have all day on the 3rd to finish and submit. The website will have a submission for your GitHub repo link.
So it's going to be just like those late night rushes to turn in computer science homework. Nice!
Will there be an official livestream for the judging? When will the final judgement be? Can we all download these and try them out ourselves?
Will there be an official livestream for the judging? When will the final judgement be? I'm sure quite a few would enjoy watching a stream of gameplay / commentary.
I'll be livestreaming myself the judging, so it's transparent. The participants are also welcome to play along with the judges (only the submitter of the gamemode, unless we need more people). My plan is to merge all of them into one major GitHub repo.
When will you be doing this?
The fourth is our planned judging day, after all submissions have been accounted for. My thought is sometime in the afternoon.
The fourth is our planned judging day, after all submissions have been accounted for. My thought is sometime in the afternoon.
Okie dokie - i'll try stay up a bit later as I'm within UK timezone init. Looking forward to this!
Will it be judged from a dedicated server? My gamemode is pretty resource-intensive; I don't want the scoring to be reduced because it's hosted in the US while some judges are in Europe.

[editline]2nd January 2017[/editline] Bottom of the Op.
I'm adding GamerGambit to my team. He's given me enough code snippets to be considered a member. I would do it on the website but it's not working yet.
I procrastinated a bit so I don't have things as polished as they could be, but overall I think I'm ready. Here's a screenshot: [T]http://i.imgur.com/j2BnBaK.jpg[/T]

Here's a screenshot: [T]http://i.imgur.com/j2BnBaK.jpg[/T]
If I get to murder crates all the time, I'm interested already. [editline]3rd January 2017[/editline] So today being 01/03/2017, we are on the final day. Before today ends, please submit your final project on the website. Any submissions put in after midnight tonight (EASTERN TIME) will not be counted. http://gmodgc.com/ Go to the entry page, log in, and drop your GitHub Repo link in the text box. If you are interested in playing along with us as we judge, and explaining your thoughts, we are judging at 5 PM Eastern on 01/04/2017. I will also livestream at that same time for anyone interested in watching.
I'm pretty sure that I could finish the other things I want to add, but I already stayed up all night and I'm pretty burnt out at this point. Just finished writing some really poor docs. The whole thing is going to need a massive refactor after the compo, so it's probably best that I don't pile more shit on. Just need to push these changes, write the readme, and submit. [editline]3rd January 2017[/editline] I'm not sure that the submission page worked but my FP title links to the damn thing now, so there. [editline]3rd January 2017[/editline] Ehh, looks like I accidentally let this slip through. Not that I really care or have any intention of changing it.
Submitted my gamemode. Not entirely sure if it worked since the when clicking Submit the page just reset with no indication. Should it have not worked, here's a link to the Github repo. Also when I playtested this with my friends, it took them a while to get the hang of the gameplay and stop running around mindlessly, so I made a short gameplay guide on the Github repo's wiki which will quickly show you all the abilities you have and the main mechanics. The TL;DR of it though is basically just as a Runner, if you're being chased always use your Sensing ability by holding Shift+Alt since it lets you see other runners so you can run to them and attempt to get the killer on them instead. Even though it reveals you to the killer, it is safe in a chase since he already knows where you are, so always use it in chases. If you do it when running to another Runner, you can steal some of his health to help you make him an easier target than yourself. Here's a gif of how Sensing looks: The gamemode probably needs some more polishing and/or balancing, and there were a few very rare bugs I could never find the cause of (sometimes clones wouldn't prevent damage on you, essentially making them useless). There's also a Workshop addon currently set to Friends Only which has the content and the gamemode, I could make that public and post the link if it'd be easier for you guys to get all the materials on your clients.

How long are we planning to devote to each gamemode?
I have a preview server up for my gamemode, for anyone who wants to check it out. Requires 2 people to start the game, but you can still test some things out by yourself. Currently using a CS:S maplist, so you need CS:S in order to play on this server. Also, here is the GitHub repo. IP: 74.91.113.159:27165 How to Play: Open chests to gather gold, use weapons from chests to knockout other players and steal their gold, try not to get eaten by mimics, utilize powerups to gain the upper hand. It's very very simple. There may be a few issues, like fists not showing up ( not sure what's causing this atm ), but I tried to make sure the gamemode was devoid of lua errors and crazy flukes. If you see anything weird, please let me know. I'd be also happy to see some feedback!
I've submitted my gamemode. Here's the tutorial which shows up when players click F1 or start playing the gamemode for the first time: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sm4r71y6dwmhu3z/AADY7zUE13wvmxf882XclXzwa?dl=0 And here's the GitHub Repo: https://github.com/Luabee/assassins
I think all gamemodes should be released on the workshop as well, let the mainstream community get to play it.
I have a dentist appointment at exactly that time. Could we save mine for last or at least until I get back? How long are we planning to devote to each gamemode?
We can push yours off if that's the case. Max I was planning on giving each 30 minutes, to 1 hour. Depends on how long it takes to get the full scope of what you have planned. Could obviously take less. [editline]3rd January 2017[/editline] I was also thinking at the end any gamemodes we really enjoyed, we could play more of, and even open up the server to the rest of people who want to hang out. Also it's up to them if they want to throw it on workshop. I think it's a good idea though.
