There at the top as there redirect servers aren't actually handling players playing the game meaning the servers have a much less load meaning the pings are rock bottom - meaning it shoots right to the top of the list!

That is the issue, they're misleading players who want to play with a good connection to joining a server with a bad connection

I think the solution is that everyone gets the tools to make redirect servers, if Meep thinks they're okay then there should be no issue with every server having several redirect servers.

i don't think redirect servers should exist, i think the server browser should be changed.

what makes you think most people stay?
Bare in mind they are are at the top of EU's US's and Australia server browser meaning the reach - IS EXTRAORDINARY.
The problem here is that an average player just clicks on the server list and sees servers like SUP on the top. The visibility of a server to the average player is based on ping. They're cheating the sytem to gain more exposure while other servers which may be good as well aren't getting that.

BTW, from what i saw, RobotBoy is agreeing with us, i dont think we need carry on this conversation anymore.
I'm in Norway, there is no circumstances where I should be seeing an American server in my browser when I live half the world away and end up having 200-300 ping when I after all the downloads finally connect. Isn't this what GeoIP and the server list ping functionalities was made for? Prevent servers too far away from showing up on the list and pushing the ones in your area up? Not only is he spoofing players, he is also bypassing the server ranking itself, which is absolutely idiotic and should definitely result in blacklisting of any attempts made at having the issue actually fixed to some capacity (although this is pretty much impossible at least try I guess?)

Yes I do like Metaphors, but you should think about studying Philosophy before beginning to type. Your Metaphor meant because one country didn't have Amazon, every country shouldn't. The fact is, only 3 well known servers with stuff like this. Other servers do not.

That's not really fair on the people who choose to have their server not VAC secured though :/
Honestly, why does the server browser take this much debate to do anything about it? Let's ignore the redirect servers for half a second and look at the state of the browser itself. Compared to the [I]legacy[/I] browser, it's a peice of garbage. And let's not forget that the legacy browser lists [B]non-garrysmod[/B] games on it. And trying to change the game to filter the type is a grayed out box. The non legacy server browser is so, so lacking, slow, and sometimes kills your ability to even manually connect to a server.
What gives? Why is any crucial update to this game absolutely drowned in arguments and drama?
