Honestly, if the three winning gamemodes (or top 1) got put into the game that'd be great so gmod can finally divert from these god damn rp gamemodes
Hopefully some new RTS gamemodes akin to Warmelon come out for this.

Sounds fun, I'm in. Quick Question: Is a re-imagined gamemode allowed. Like the idea isn't 100% original but the gamemode will be coded from scratch and a lot more going on than the original.

You have to push against an overwhelming consensus. RP in Garry's Mod is well beyond the snowball point. Especially when you look at the server list and immediately you are greeted with a 70% majority of RP gamemodes. Additionally when new users come into the game, they see the default server browser and just click whatevers at the top, which is consistently a DarkRP server.
Not to mention that the RP model encourages repeated play, where-as other games do little to encourage repeated play.
Oh and RP gamemodes are easily monetized, encouraging communities to host them.

I'm overly optimistic, but I'd like to think that with an event like this, and enough people, we can easily push to support a new gamemode. I hope everyone enjoys what comes from this competition, and that we can at least bring things together.
