You should the guns on his body and in his hands. Something like this:
[lua]
local v = ents.CreateClientProp(Model("weapons/w_rif_m4a1.mdl"))
v:Spawn()
v:SetParent(model.Entity, model.Entity:LookupAttachment("RHand"))
v:AddEffects(EF_BONEMERGE)
v:SetNoDraw(true)
model.WeaponModel = v
function model:UpdateWeapon(wepclass)
local wep = weapons.Get(wepclass)
if !wep then return end
v:SetModel(Model(wep.WorldModel))
v:SetParent(model.Entity, model.Entity:LookupAttachment("RHand"))
local anim = ActIndex[wep.HoldType]
self.Entity:SetSequence(anim)

Even if that PayPal is fake what an entirely selfish thing to do.
Bugger off.
forgive me for my bad joke ^
Any developers which need a server to work on with their team during this competition, feel free to contact us and we can sort out complimentary servers for you :)

Count me in.
Hopefully afterwards there will be a big ol' list of gamemode Git repositories for people to use as reference when working on GMod stuff.

That was last year's competition, so I'll be doing the same again this year.
More progress.

I know people DISPISE rp in some cases because there's so much of it on Gmod and it over saturates everything, but next competition should be to make an RP gamemode which is the most modular/ergonomic.
I just want to see some diversity in the gmod server list, at the moment it's all just DarkRP renames, that's why i'm hoping BlackTea's NS:CityRP will bang and kind of level the playing field with darkrp (I know it's unlikely due to DarkRP's size but you should see his progress it's fucking noice)

I think hosting an RP-only competition would just flood the market with tons of new RP gamemodes, none of which would be big enough to stand on its own.
The time to replace DarkRP was before GMod13 when servers weren't sorted by gamemode popularity.

This would completely, as bobble put it, saturate the roleplay community.
Not to mention it completely locks down what user's can create, and as a result the competition would fail completely.
Besides you want to see diversity, but just want more roleplay gamemodes? There's only so much "different" that you can do.
Just off for summer so I started some basic concept things for my gamemode. The gamemode is a top-down fast paced arcade PvP gamemode similar to Tank Trouble. Every player spawns in a randomly generated maze (or just a random maze from a list if I'm lazy). From here, weapon pickups begin spawning around the place which can give you a vareity of weapons such as lasers, mines, remote missiles, nukes, and alot more (22 ideas so far). Most weapons are able to kill you in 1 shot, but also able to kill the person firing it. Last man standing wins the round, and everyone respawns with the maze regenerating.
Some concept gifs. Here's the bouncing laser weapon:

A gif showing how the maze can change. It currently shows me editing the maze by clicking, which is a concept I may include (saving and playing your own mazes):

Also, the above gif only shows me clicking blocks. You can also get the individual walls as well as corners up. I went with a tron-like neon theme, with the mode taking place in VR test chamber and you play as test subjects for new weapon prototypes.

With good weapon design like you're showcasing here this could be crazy fun. If you focus on making your gameplay unconventional and chaotic this could be a winner! :)

That's the plan. I want to fill it with flashy effects and screen shakes to make it all feel really chaotic, kinda like those crazy 8-player games of Smash Bros. I expect rounds to take no more than a couple of minutes at max, an average player life span being around only 30 seconds.
The more I look at what people are achieving for the competition, the more I realise how bad my gamemode is. Anyway, I'll keep at it, maybe someone will like it.
I just wanted to ask if there's anything else I need to do to get 'officially' entered aside from just posting here?
if anyone wants to have a look at mine look here -

its very far from even being in beta cuz I'm in middle of exam season :(
anyhow, Have fun!
I guess I'll join in, I've got nothing else to do. I'll be working alone.
I'm in on this, keep me in the loop!
EDIT: Does it count as starting early if it's a really old gamemode I haven't touched in a while, but's base is still the base gamemode?

You should not use it.
You should not use it.
Aight, I'll rewrite it, it was mostly a test so I could get used to coding in Lua anyway :P
EDIT: Should probably explain better what I meant when I said all of that. Essentially, a really long time ago I made a really buggy prototype for the gamemode i'm talking about, and I was trying to ask if it was okay if I made a rewrite of that, but it came out wrong so there ya go :v:
The rewrite is quite different from the prototype and I already started the rewrite a couple of days ago, don't know why I said "I'll rewrite it" when I already started the rewrite
Anyway, here's an alpha test video for anyone who's interested:

It's essentially a gamemode where one player is picked to be The Creature, and unstoppable killing machine. The rest are known as Victims, and cannot do anything to truly harm The Creature. They can, however, use their wits to try and avoid their (probably) inevitable death. I could give more info, but there's a lot to talk about, it'd be a pretty long post
Most of the stuff in the video is either placeholder or simply not final.
I'd like to join.
I will probably be out travelling on the day of the deadline and assuming it will be like last time with a long stream playing all the modes with their creators, will there be any problems if you can't show up? Can we leave some instruction and/or answers to the general questions you'd be talking with the creators about?

It'll be a stream like last time. If you can't make it then instructions may work best, and in terms of general questions I'd leave some information regarding your thought process behind the gamemode, specific features, how you started and designed things, etc.

Jesus this is trippy. I might add a small delay on each wall so they move in kinda like a wave from the top left.
