Does anyone know why images don't seem to update instantly on the wiki? I added some images to the DNumSlider page, but they didn't change until I reverted the image back to the original, which then let me see a preview of the actual image I uploaded before

Did you try using ctrl+F5 to refresh the page?

Because either MediaWiki or CloudFlare settings.

I'd recommend uploading new files over updating old ones.
It still hasn't updated for me after all this time, could someone perhaps refresh them somehow?

First time I did Ctrl + Shift + R it updated...
Dear god, that works

Sorry for being an idiot, I've just never pressed those buttons in my entire life
[editline]16th April 2016[/editline]
This is probably a dumb question, but why do some pages on the wiki have an 'Edit with form' button and some don't? Is there some way to script a custom form so you could use it on pages without that button?

Forms only exist on pages that use a template that has a form defined. I don't actually know much about it but this is a good place to start: https://mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Semantic_Forms
Edit: according to that page, any wiki user can define a form, so have at it!
I just noticed this page here has a fairly long list of commands to use with that function, does anyone think it'd be a good idea to move that list of commands onto a separate reference page, and to organize them in a table?

Unless more commands use it it seems a bit unnecessary to create a whole page for such a relatively small list (<15 in size)
Well, I'm a bit annoyed...
No javascript:

(this page: http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Editable_Entities )
*sigh* I'll use tabs...
Edit: it's ok now, I was worried about tabs because of the whole "how many spaces are there between tabstops" thing but it seems to be fine.
[editline]17th April 2016[/editline]
(hoping for postmerge)
I'm looking into DProperty_* elements (most prominently used in Editable Entities), and I've noticed something kinda weird in the wiki sidepanel:

It seems that the wiki naturally translates underscores into spaces because that's MediaWiki's thing, and then somehow our wiki's custom code (or javascript) is forcing it back into an underscore but leaving shit behind?
I just added an automatic note to predicted hooks. Example: TOOL:LeftClick
NOTE: This hook is predicted. This means that in singleplayer, it will not be called clientside.
If you want to disable it for a specific hook, add this line to the end of the description:
|ClientSingleplayer=Yes <!-- comment -->

Next time you edit with form it won't be there though, if you want to re-enable it, edit using the regular Edit button and remove the line from there.
Examples of hooks that had the note disabled:
SWEP:PrimaryAttack - (overkill) description already exists, seems a shame to remove it. Might need a rewrite though.
SWEP:Think - this one is an exception, it IS ran clientside (see its own note)
SWEP:Deploy - custom note already exists and I cba to rewrite it
If you spot any problems with this, go ahead and fix them and/or tell me.

Pictures or GIF's of the examples as a lot dont have example pictures/gif's which makes you not know if its that function you need to choose to use.

You can add your own pictures and stuff to the wiki easily ... the reason there aren't many at the moment is cause nobody can be bothered adding them
Are most of the state icons missing for anyone else?

Seems that for some reason, Client links don't have the class set.

I think the sidebar generation script just failed to retrieve the clientside function list, it should resolve itself when it next updates.

Would it be possible for some moderator of the wiki forums to make a script that goes through checking wiki examples to make the variables in them local? There are so many, many examples on the wiki with un-localized variables, and many new players are copy-pasting these examples into their code, not knowing how exploitable and dangerous this makes their code.

...What? A variable being global doesn't make a script exploitable...
...What? A variable being global doesn't make a script exploitable...
Isn't it possible for clients to change serverside variables from their side if they're global? Actually, that's probably wrong, but it's still possible for variables to be overwritten that shouldn't have been overwritten if they weren't local

Could you link to an example like this? If I notice something like this I would normally fix it, but I don't really recall coming across one.

No, lol. And even though it is possible for global variables to be overwritten, that doesn't make global variables bad. They exist for a reason, and that reason is for variables to be used in multiple scripts. If it doesn't need to be used in another script, it shouldn't be a global. A robot cannot determine whether a variable needs to be local or not.
MPan, I just created this which might help you remember: http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Category:Pages_with_examples
It's still being populated so it doesn't include EVERY page with an example, but if it's really so common as you say, that shouldn't matter. I went through a handful and didn't find a single global variable.
Although, now that I think about it, the same list could have been achieved with just http://wiki.garrysmod.com/index.php?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Example&hidelinks=1&hideredirs=1
Oh well, what's done is done.
Edit: alright, found one: http://wiki.garrysmod.com/index.php?title=bit%2Fbor&action=historysubmit&diff=23898&oldid=19452
whatev's.

Hooks' titles seem to link to the wrong category. Example:
Clicking on Entity in the title of Entity:Activate will take you to Category:Entity
But clicking on ENT in ENT:Initialize will take you to Category:ENTITY instead of Category:ENTITY_Hooks
If it's not clear I'm talking about these titles:

I could just make redirects though. Doing that now.
