Definitely deserves its own thread mate, looks beautiful
A new batch of images from me in that old-school "weird shit is happening" Garry's mod images.

Testing out some smoke effects and stuff, did half ass this.
Your scenebuilds are great but your shadows are your bottleneck. every picture you post has the same problem: they all lack proper shadow variation.
this may have a (obvious) shadow:

But if I were to crop out this frame and look at it separately, it has NO shadows in it:

Do you see the problem?
ONE shadow lamp isnt enough. Every frame in your picture needs to feature shadows (where the scenery should have them of course), no matter where I'm looking.
This has an obvious primary shadow:

And so does this frame:

The trick is to have shadows within shadows within shadows within shadows and so on
My first serious attempt at making a picture in gmod, any tips on how to improve? Thank you in advance.

Start with zooming in with your camera, this will eliminate the fish eye effect that comes with your normal FOV, then, when taking the picture, always use the 'poster' command and always set it above 1, for instance: poster 2, or poster 3.
Also, Are you using soft lamps?
Here's a pic from 3 days ago that didn't get any replies:

This isn't constructive about your particular picture. First, people need to work on their posing, andles and composition before they work on their lighting and editing, so i'd suggest using real life pictures or artwork as reference. I personally started copying stills from war movies and try to recreate them to the best of my abilities.
I am not, but will in future projects. Also, what is the benefit of using the poster commands?
You just need to do it a loooooooot of times to get the hang of it. At least that's what i did.
So let's say you use the command "poster 2", when inputted into the console, GMod will take a screenshot of whatever you're seeing (The screenshot is automatically taken, so have your camera ready), it will be 2 times the size of your screen resolution, or if you use "poster 3" it will be 3 times the size, and so on.
With the screenshot, take it to your editing program, (Photoshop, GIMP, etc) and scale the image down to the dimensions you want, I would recommend 1920 x 1080.
Basically what this does is it will smooth out sharp and jagged edges in you're image.
I don´t know why, but I find placing Wallace Breen in the original Half-Life weirdly funny/adorable in a "big boss comes down to awkwardly connect to the grunt workers" kind of way.
