A bit too much noise.
Might I ask you recommend some scenebuilding packs to use other than the scenebuild megapack?

Looks good but you need to enhance the background, looks like theres an ocean behind the trees, and decrase a little bit the sky backround layer opacity so the fog makes sense. How to make the lighting like me just follow this few steps(simplified version, full version soon): 1:Begin with the sky layer, create 2 layers for it and color it using channel mixer as you wish. front top one, a little bit tilted to the subject , with a big radius focussing on the scene(10 resolution) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/98cfe241-5002-4f46-add9-fb7c0902e2d2/1.jpg Back top second one, the "rimlights" from the sky this a litle bit less radius from the first one and less resolution too(6 is good) (can be duplicated if too dark) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/2d4d30b7-60ac-48e9-9dbd-723c536b6f2c/2.jpg 2:Enviromental ligths(lightbounce does it but in this case i'm trying to simulate light from the background picture)medium size radius and 8 resolution (can be duplicated if too dark) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/e840ad21-4433-483b-b264-1fecef383a48/3.jpg You can add more if you want to make something with no sunlight but i made only one in this case 3:Sun layer (4 resolution and very very small radius) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/39fcebf5-4d1b-4f4d-99cd-c828c52ba173/4.jpg 5:Lightbounce layer you will need to fix the eyes of the ragdolls later bud. for subject scenes like this one: scans the area with light sprayer so you got 120/200 lightspots over the ragdoll(more if you have a powerfull computer)and put the lamp resolution in 1,then set poster_ligthbounce 40 1 1 1. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/475ee3ae-bbb8-4e2a-80ee-038d6b41c3ff/5.jpg is Basically this for now. the key of the natural lightning is the use of chanell mixer to reach natural colors this is the secret ;D this layers with no color and minor editing(in the eyes, opacity) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/7bc7f6d5-f774-481f-983f-070bb1ac844b/6.jpg Same layer with same minor editing, but with channel mixer in each light layer https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112192/4cdab3f2-150d-404b-a9fb-5fbb2527f398/8.jpg That's it for now sorry for filling half of the page with pics buds

Contains a grand total of 4 lamps, 11 props (14 in the alt version with the Horten's wheels down)

Tried a Normandy scene out: Gone Days: Normandy https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/183687/4d2f5b46-d209-4e9f-b299-ea04b71e0d65/a_gonedaysnormany_seiren.jpg D-Day | June 6th 1944 I was trying to make everything look wet in this scene, all the soldiers just ran to the beaches from the shore, and everything must have been soaked due to the huge explosions throwing water everywhere, turned out pretty well.
@BlightBite while you did achieve the wet look, everything looks very static. There is no sense of motion or emotion to be found! There is no dust being kicked up by the gunfire and the huge explosions you mentioned, everybody's clean - they shouldn't be, their wet, rolling around in the sand, it should definitely be stuck to them, plus they're getting showered with water, sand and debris during each of the huge explosions you mentioned and yet there is no sign of those. And I'm not even talking about blood. Very well, I understand the fact that you may know how to add such effects, but there are other things you should probably pay attention to. Take a look at the skybox/skydome. See where the sun is located on there and place the lamps illuminating your scene accordingly. Right now, it seems that your light it coming from the opposite side the sun should be. Another thing is, you should fingerpose and facepose the characters whenever you know that their face is going to be seen. Everybody has the same blank expression in your screenshot. Now, that's probably all I can think of now. Or perhaps, one more question; why are the Germans out in the open? I understand that the US soldiers are storming the beaches of presumably Normandy, but why aren't the Germans using the trenches and other fortifications set up on the coast? I mean, unless they were trying to score some melee or no-scope kills, it seems like a flawed tactic to fight an armed force invading your coastline.
@TheDaveSecond This was just a test of that wet look, so I wasn't paying attention to adding effects (I do know how to, I just didn't do it right then) Will definitely add post effects in another time. When you say everything looks static, do you mean the lack of motion? If so, not really sure how I would portray motion as, well, humans can't go at a speed fast enough to give off visible motion blur, if you're talking about effects (Sand being kicked up and dirt flying around), well the same principle applies here, didn't get around to adding effects, just wanted to see what everyone thought of the 'wet' look. The Skydome's sun is in the exact same orientation as the lamps, all pointing in one general direction, I understand it may not look like it considering the opening of the sky toward the left, but they are pointing in one general direction. Characters were finger posed, for face posing however, I always find that it ruins my scene, my character always ends up looking weird, so I usually scrap that. As for the Germans, 2 things, first, I can't put them behind cover or in full on trench systems as then the scene would be too empty, with only a few Germans peaking out to shoot, as for trenches themselves, all they got were foxholes. (You can see two on the far right and left) Or, and this is story-wise, the US troops had killed off enough of the Germans in that small vicinity to move up on the enemy lines, (considering they're so close to the seawall), so maybe this was the German's last hope to kill off that group of US troops before they breached the bunkers behind the coast. Will try to improve.
The primary visual property of wet sand is that it's darker than dry sand, and it doesn't reflect as much light as yours does, the same is true for cloth and other absorbents

I just realized that if you take my regular grass props and apply the materials from mask's prop pack you can create all kinds of diverse grass. Just select the transparent texture and paste them on the grass. You can find all of mask's textures under: q menu > browse materials > themask > scenebuildthemese > flowers , vine stuff, nature stuff, and just play around with it. Everything in the pic below is just random textures I paste over my original models. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216541/565fc87a-70d8-4c6d-88ab-32593afc11d6/gm_black0330.jpg
