LibertyNetworks is a very appearing community with made aspects that attract users with interest in wanting to play on their server. The discord interface is well-made as well as in-game cosmetics, role play, and other small characteristics that ties the whole server together in an overall fun experience. LibertyNetworks is 3 by three owners, now 4, due to recent changes in their administration, these 4 owners are someone you should really get to know as you can tell they really care about their community, they will treat you with the hospitality a network should especially for one this small. Personally, I loved getting home and role-playing as a paramedic with one of the owners and just having a good time with this new relationship I made. The network has been worked on for weeks, and you can really tell that the team who put it together, really cared about what he was doing and worked hard to build this new network to allow players from across the world to come and enjoy what they had built. LibertyNetworks loyal players' include the range of little kids having a good time after school to enlisted United States marines, going home off the base to enjoy some time with his online friends. The community can't go without saying, that to the human eye, LibertyNetworks was really something that truly cared about what was being put in for its players and the reputation remained positive throughout their legacy. One thing that is not expressed though,.. are the developers.
I'm Kamii2K, I was the Director of Development/Head Developer at LibertyNetworks during the prime time. I was responsible for completely resurfacing the communicating services, and reconstructing the game server which before I came, was really struggling and would have been considered "dead" to Garry's Mod in a few days. I alone, challenged myself to this project to where I missed school (since I am 17, still enrolled in High School) so much that I now have to appear in court for the absurd amount of absences I gave myself as I stayed home and worked all-day, continuously on this new server I wanted to help. Although, this didn't effect me, I cared so much about all of the work I put in the server, I cared not about other issues in modern society. Every line of string implemented was progress in my eyes and I loved giving something new to the Garry's Mod community to enjoy.
When I began working for LibertyNetworks, I first had to prove myself. I begun by resurfacing the discord which is what I believe to be what made the community more involved in what happens with each other and gathered these players to be more active inside the development field. This first project was a success, in seeing their new loyal members appear everyday, participating in the daily conversations that appeared in the discord's channels. This project however, wasn't appreciated enough, as a developer for games mainly Garry's Mod, I think I can speak for the whole development community that developers are underestimated, disrespected, and looked down upon even by players with no specific role in the network. This is greatly shown upon to me. At this stage on my work, I begun receiving messages or from all sorts of members about how I have broken something, or removed something I shouldn't have, or I wasn't doing something I was supposed to be doing. This messages didn't get to me though, as for all developers when we receive this types of comments, I just brushed over them and ignored them. Now, after this first project was done, I never received gratitude from my superiors, acknowledging my first efforts inside their community. But again, this did not stop me from taking the responsibility to build this new network. Past this project, I began working on the actual game server, weeks and weeks of as mentioned, skipped days of school to stay home and repeat the continuous and tedious work as the day before. Close to completing the server, the network began seeing a big flux of players join, including the owners now, who previously rejected to the join the server, but now sought interest. The server including many unique characteristics that made what I put together, special, but again as before, these whole efforts of rebuilding their server to be successful, was not acknowledged by superiors, this is when I begun to be frustrated. All of the hard work I put in, the owners took responsibility for my efforts. At the end of this time, the server was running smoothly, players were happy and were averaging around 25 players on at a time, everyday.
Towards the end of the work, superiors begun to get angry at me for my efforts "crossing the line", which I get and respected due to their rank, but I think the fact of the current state of the server and it's success, my efforts shouldn't have been looked down upon. Argument arose. As a humble developer, I was proud of all the work I had done but so little help, and really felt that nothing of my work was appreciated. I am also not the one to respect the breaking of server rules, especially of superiors. It was Wednesday night, when it happened, a couple days before my birthday. I join the server for the daily experience of having fun with my friends and fellow management superiors. One of the owners, SemperDeadly, one who I played with almost daily, I noticed was breaking many rules which completely made me upset with his actions. Shortly after discovering this, I had a conversation with the Community Director James Murray, to whom is one of the only LibertyNetworks management officers I respect to to this, I am happy he has been recently promoted to Community Owner, maybe he can fix this heartbreaking reputation, the network has now been cursed with. James was understanding, listening to my frustration and gave me some advice which I took, the conversation ended with me telling him ".. I don't want to work for a community under someone like that, and so I am having thoughts of quitting if his actions continue." One of the rules SemperDeadly broke was the rejection of role play, I was the Sheriff, meaning I am the head of the Sheriff's Office which SemperDeadly was enrolled in. Joining the server to find SemperDeadly on another class (against the rules) made me confront him, with how he finished it with "Just remove me from SO." This again puts more context that the hard work I put the server was NOT appreciated. I fired SemperDeadly right then, removing his permissions inside the discord, which only allows him to see one channel with one pinned message of "You've been fired of the Sheriff's Office, fuck you and get out of my discord." With the intelligence of SemperDeadly, he believed these messages were targeted at him and him alone, not everyone who has been fired. Minutes later I receive an email from Crident (our game host) saying I have been removed as a sub user from the game panel. I immediately message him what was going on and join the server to get more information. I got no reply on discord. Once I loaded in, I first noticed SemperDeadly joining right after me, once he was officially spawned, I asked him what is going on and if we can talk. Seconds later, i was permanently banned with the message of "DISRESPECT TO THE COMMUNITY AND THE COMMUNITY OWNER. GOODBYE" Immediately appealing to the audience reading, you can assume SemperDeadly was extremely power hungry in just that one message. My last efforts of stopping this, was simply messaging SemperDeadly, to whom I played with everyday and really shared a friendship with, if we could talk about it before another harsh actions were taken, he replied "No, because you will scream over me." Which I find annoying due to the fact that most of the time, I am really mature and professional, I am only an asshole to the people who fuck me over or insult me first. After this, I was finally removed from the rank in the discord, leaving me officially terminated from LibertyNetworks. I had some friends who supported me including one of the owners named JacobBluen, who I trusted everything with, asking him to defend me and do something to protect me from SemperDeadly, I was just replied with a rejection. Someone I called everyday and talked to about everything I do for him. My other friends, who weren't power hungry, went to the owners for me since I was either blocked or ignored, asking for their minds to be changed, explaining it's not right to demote someone for a false/unjust reason who has done so much for the network. Their efforts weren't enough to convince them.
Some time passed where I just sat and talked to my friends, ranting. That's when the actions of the owners really got to me. I became so angry I can admit I took some actions that shouldn't have been even thought of, but at the time, I was only thinking about their past actions and how corrupt it was. My first target was one of their smaller discords I still had permissions in, it's easiest to say that the discord was completely deleted. The second target, was the FTP login information I still had saved, I deleted all of their entire "addons" folder, leaving the server to nothing. My third target was their mistforums, again, easiest to say, it was completely removed. As my actions completed, I received the expected messages from the owners who previously ignored me saying how childish I was, which I replied with their actions against me, they are too blind to see. These actions were taken about a week ago, and I can say I publicly apologize for my actions, however wanted to express the fault of the community.
Days later after being terminated, my own friend replaced me and started working for LibertyNetworks, at this time I was still angry and warned him of their actions they have been responsible for. I was not listened to. My friend, is a good developer and I know he is capable of hard work, but I wasn't surprised when I got the message today from him saying "You're right, got fired right before I was going to be paid." Shocking... the actions of LibertyNetworks repeats itself. LibertyNetworks continues to disrespect their developers and the work they have put into the server they so take responsibility for; practically doing the job they should be doing, the developers of the network are constantly mistreated and which is why I made the time to made this public document of the unjust actions of LibertyNetworks. Hello Kamii2K, It's JacobBluen one of the four community owners of LibertyNetworks, We terminated you due to the lack of respect that you had towards the staff/founders of the server, The lack of listening when we tell you not to do something you went behind my back and got perms for it and added it. When we terminated you, you deleted all of our scripts and deleted all jobs and put a job saying and i quote "Nigger" and then say that you have a back door in our server which is false due to the experience i have and the people that I know within Garry's Mod. The fact that you wasted your time making this post makes me laugh, You can't let go can you? We simply asked you to be mature about your termination and failed at that like you did when you worked for me and SemperDeadly. You also lied about one of my staff members saying that they left the server when he had to do stuff due to that a guy lost his Director Of Staff Rank within my community thanks you which also happens to be one of your friends. The fact that I hired you for my community makes me mad at my self. So I guess we can figure out who is the corrupt one here? LibertyNetworks? Or Kamii2K?
