I actually have kind of a suggestion. What if, instead of doing RP, you do something like what goes on in SA-MP, and do a real urban environment, not specifically roleplay, where you do jobs, and go around the city and the like, but at the same time it all feels very natural because it's not like choosing a class, it's literally going to a building, working an hour, get paid.
It has a very thought out system so that new players cannot acquire guns with ease, however still allowing gangs and cops to roam about with their respective weapons. You don't necessarily have to be "in character" as in playing a character, but just keeping an etiquette in game, to allow people who DO want to RP free to do whatever they want.

You can, you've got way more resources than SA-MP. Passenger vehicles are possible, there are big city maps, there are ways to do clothing, weapons, money, interfaces.
It's very possible, it just needs people working.
SAMP RL-RP is shit...Argonath RPG is the best RP server out as it lets you do whatever you want...Which is what all RP should be - self created, not driven by boring scripts that severely limit what you can and can't do.

Yes let's make an SAMP RP with huge cities and cops vs citizens and you can sell cars and steal stuff and rob banks and play with your friends and get into multiseat vehicles...
If you want that just play SAMP.

GMC had talented scripters and mappers before it shut down a few years ago. We were a well built up community and it seems to me as though they're trying to rebuild what we once had. Uber alone is talented enough to make it but it takes more than one person to build an entirely new gamemode with new maps etc from the ground up.

You know, something I feel Gmod lost touch with transitioning from 9 to 10 was a lot of the classic roleplay communities that were borderline serious, borderline unserious. (what a lot of people think lightrp / "darkrp" is.)
I'd be really happy to see GMC refill that gap. What with places like TnB for example, we need to kind of backpeddle to it being about fun and playing pretend with your friends. It's that very reason that I've brought DSRP back with the focus of playing video games together as a community, and not RP.
Hope it goes great for you guys, especially content and script wise.
If I find time (which I have precious little of), I might apply to help with the lua side of things.

No. DSRP never plays games and never will.
I've been waiting along time for this to happen, used to play quite alot on the GMC servers back then.
Shame that I sucked at RPing at the time, but hell I did have fun.

Gmod Central was the only fun RP server I could find. I remember in Gmod 9 we always played on the Hometown map and assassinated the mayor all the time with the crossbow. The gym was also taken over by some gang at one point.
