My Gmod and tf2 just updated... also not a big one... just 4 mb's... and it does start.. and then minimizes and wont let me open the game.....
It's a Source update that broke every Source game. Including TF2, CS:S and Garry's Mod. Just wait it out.

That's what broke it...
I suggest continuing conversation in this thread:

It will keep this topic clear and focus it on the "big update" - as the current breakage has nothing to do with this update.
Please never be F2P. You know how much of a mingefest it will be! So many hackers and douchebags
The changes might be too drastic for people to handle - but it's all for the better in the long run.
Considering what updates have done in the past, garry saying that makes me worried.

As a guy who runs a fretta server i'd like
- Way to transfer cache to FastDL server within server.cfg although not sure how can this work as FTP is required.
You can just use a symbolic link to sync the fastdl's cache with the gameserver's cache.

- Personal One: Bug when bzipped files have downloaded to client but are not unzipped making them unable to join until manually unzipping file.

Never had the problem. Hmmm...
- Ability to hide Lua errors when they don't affect gameplay but annoy players. (Debug mode disable)
I agree. That would be useful.
I don't have a dedi so I can't link them as they arn't shared on the same machine :(
Garrys Mod is crashing. could it be the new update?
It is crashing for me too, it must be the new update... -_- I hate it when this happens, lol.

No, it would just be used to hide shitty coding, if this was implented to quality of code produced by the community would suffer A LOT.
Garry, what ever happened to you implementing that physicist's project, Gmod kinect, in gmod? You said on a blog post remember? "I would really love to implement this in gmod", you never said anything about it since. Can you just tell me the status of gmod kinect? Just so I can know if I should install the basic version of it.
Please, im asking you guys to rate this dumb, im sure I missed something.

I agree it needs to be there however, there should be a option if your sure a gamemodes working fine to hide the Lua errors, there are plenty of games out there with errors behind the scenes visible in the console but your screen doesn't get spammed with annoying crap.
Its good for those gamemodes that were never finished but work fine.

What works fine for you will not work fine for others. If suddenly it stops working for someone, they will say to you "IT DON'T WORKZZZ YOU SUCK!!!". At least now, they can tell you the exact error so you can diagnose.

Well one annoying thing about running a server is that it does completely vary, I get people joining the server every now and then and then they end up not being here, I would actually like a reason then to why they couldnt join (Most of the time I think its due to them not having CS content)
A new zombie list?
[editline]16th August 2011[/editline]
Another update to stop the game crashing?
Could we have a throwback to the old background, with the cone over gman's head? I loved that background, you should make a new one!
Do it yourself.
I like the new menus.
Wait, the update hasn't been released yet, correct? You fuckers above me are confusing.
lmao, rate me dumb because I haven't played gmod in a while. you're smart
The big update hasn't been released. Garry just did a hotfix for the TF2 engine update.
hopefully in the "Big Update" there will be a way to search the prop list in the "browse" tab.

Checked the gmod gcf, no change in the lua part at all so, probably no.
