He will also Starting his "notch" soon: http://garry.tv/post/10282189990/holiday
Is he making a joke about the Minecraft developer?
Is he making a joke about the Minecraft developer?
Yes he is. For the uninformed, Notch, the developer of Minecraft, takes most of the year off as vacation.
Yeah Notch is sort of in a state of shock because of his sudden windfall. You know, generally when someone spontaneously makes millions of dollars, they tend to want to waste it on useless stuff.

I think I've just discovered something pleasing. The big update is v130 as seen from the screenie: http://i.imgur.com/5dqt2.jpg Look at the gmod load time stats: http://stats.garrysmod.com/loadtimes/ See the massive load time drop in v130?
that's an average of all maps, it's not like garry is loading up evocityv33x every time
and Garry has a faster computer than a bunch of people who play Gmod.
My load time is about 4 to 5 minutes. I go play minecraft whilst I wait. Gmod is the only game that takes longer than 15 seconds to load games for me.
My load time is about 4 to 5 minutes. I go play minecraft whilst I wait.
well part of the problem is that you're playing minecraft which uses java which rapes memory which isn't too light on CPU either
Java itself isn't too bad, the fact it's a Virtual machine that is trying to interpret Java Bytecode does require a bit of CPU grunt, but the major problem with Minecraft is that, it's Minecraft, the game isn't coded perfectly and as such uses more resources than it really should (even GMod, struggles to use 1GB+ of RAM when I'm on the bloody menu, thanks Notch).
well part of the problem is that you're playing minecraft which uses java which rapes memory which isn't too light on CPU either
It has taken 4 to 5 minutes all of my life even with no addons and with a new computer (yes an epic one) I started playing mc a few months ago because I would rather wait a few seconds more and play mc than sit there looking at a frozen screen. It doesn't even have to be mc that was just an example I brows here and other places or go watch tv.
I don't get it, I have a relatively outdated PC and can load Garrysmod fine on most maps with PlayOnLinux on Natty [editline]18th September 2011[/editline] Don't tell me your "epic windows pc" can't load it, but Wine can..
Perhaps when that say they have a "Awesome Computer" they don't really have a "Awesome Computer" or they have not removed the BloatWare on their "Awesome Computer" assuming its not a custom build.
I'm so eager for this update.
You mean it hasn't happened yet? ... I'm an uneducated fart.
Here's an idea, how about an airboat seat/chair that doesn't get you stuck in the fucking ceiling every time you get out of it?
That's really a good idea, some way to change where you "teleport" relative to vehicle when you get out of it. So it could work with whatever you decide to build.
That is a good idea. Maybe a script could be made wareas if you are you to spawn in the ceiling when you leave a vehicle, it stops you leaving.
Wouldn't work, it would stop people from building things with props over top of the chair because you would get stuck inside the chair.
That is a good idea. Maybe a script could be made wareas if you are you to spawn in the ceiling when you leave a vehicle, it stops you leaving.
That would get you stuck a lot of the time. A better solution would be to place you in the nearest location that won't get you stuck.
That would get you stuck a lot of the time. A better solution would be to place you in the nearest location that won't get you stuck.
Shouldnt be too hard for Garry to code
New background,thank Capitan Obvious.
New background,thank Capitan Obvious.
It will be easier to change it, just use a .jpeg file.
Perhaps when that say they have a "Awesome Computer" they don't really have a "Awesome Computer" or they have not removed the BloatWare on their "Awesome Computer" assuming its not a custom build.
My computer was new this year and it is just better than a standard alien ware and is not custom build. I have no idea why my load times are slow and doubt I ever will. It may have something to do with internet connect but everything else is fine. I am a gmod player since 2007 and nothing has changed since.
My computer was new this year and it is just better than a standard alien ware.
Of course! Just because alien ware is ridiculously over-prized, it has to be the best computer company ever! [/SARCASM]
Of course! Just because alien ware is ridiculously over-prized, it has to be the best computer company ever! [/SARCASM]
I completely agree with the fact that alien ware are overpriced and not always the best option I was using it as an example. Either way there is nothing wrong with alien ware.
I completely agree with the fact that alien ware are overpriced and not always the best option I was using it as an example. Either way there is nothing wrong with alien ware.
Except everything. Their designs are atrocious, they overcharge for last gen/ sub-par components. The cases are about 80% plastic, 10% metal and 40% ricer LED shit (yeah. they broke maths). Plus their fanbase is dumb enough to liquidize your brain from a 5 foot radius.

Like I said it was an example get over it no need to rage out over a pc make. And before I forget I was correct anyway. There is nothing wrong with them. Design does not effect it's performance and over charge does not effect performance it still works you just found pointless things you don't like about it. Personally I don't like alien ware myself but no need to shout your hate and abuse about it.

But there is not a single redeeming factor to their computers. There are other companies who do the same thing for less. Oh and overcharging does have an impact, it's called Price/ Performance, you know, the building blocks of not being a imbecile with your money?
Hey now guys, I dont want any fighting. Love eachother and egt back on topic please. :D
Hey now guys, I dont want any fighting. Love eachother and egt back on topic please. :D
Great let's talk about an almost unadaptable update that we don't know anything about because it would end up with us yelling the same as Garry's title says.
