I'm guessing he's adding menu backgrounds in it. I remember a thread he made asking for backgrounds so he could have something like TF2s with a variety of different background appearing each time.

For the people wondering this, the reason why Garry hasn't done this or like how he hasn't just updated to the L4D2 engine is because these engine versions branch off of the main engine and are pretty much dead ends. So if Garry updated the engine to the Portal 2 Engine when Half Life 3 came around he wouldn't be able to update to the HL3 Engine or any other newer versions.

One thing I would like to see implemented is better welding, because what we have now is awful.
I'm not sure what might be included in this update, so i'd prefer to be surprised, but there are some good suggestions already, which might be part of the improvements.

i think you just need to become the better welder. increase weights, build smart. Have a center heavy base prop and weld everything to it.
I like to use Poly Weld since it merges the physics models into one object. Buggy as hell, though, but still very useful. :smile:

Freezing while loading seems to be a general source issue. Now, in a perfect world I'd like amazing multi-processing abilities for SRCDS, but that's not a job for garry.
Why valve have the worlds most used game server application and don't support multi-processing is beyond me...
