I like 9 for the working VMF loader. Other than that, 10 is superior in all ways. But none of that matters now, because it seems the new steamcloud has raped 9 and it doesn't work anymore... is anyone else getting that?

err yes it did, it was a bit more difficult to find but it was very possible to spawn some npcs.
But gmod9 has an awesome rp script (UCRMP or something) and if you have a good community or lots of friends, roleplaying because a whole lot better than gmod10 rping, or that's what I think.
I remember awesome Roleplay events on gmod9. Only cops and admins had guns and no one besides admins could spawn props or use toolguns. Admins did have the ability to give toolgun and other guns however, so certain rp s could still be balanced. This almost never went wrong and everyone was always happy with the fact that notevery one could spawn. The only downside was that if you made an awesome shop, some guy could mess it all up by unfreezing.But admins were often online and banned them.
Later on I got gmod10 and looked at roleplay there. It was not roleplay at all, everyone was just playing so they could get guns. It was full of darkrp servers and the admins were too young to play admin. Lots of whiny voices were involved and you were never allowed to participate without a mic. RP scenes were cops chasing criminals 99% of the time. Nothing was roleplayed there and it was just about killing the opposite team.
but now the gmod9 communities have died (maybe besides some german ones, dunno but those are terrible rpers).
But if you play for building or any other game mode, gmod10 is a lot better, because it has lots of bugs fixed and there are loads of mods available.
In every category but rp(in which gmod 9 was great)10 is better

It would be gmod 11, or maybe 12, but ever since Garry got Valve on board with gmod he decided to drop the numbers for ease of marketing and to make things less confusing.
So basically Gmod 11 or Gmod 12 is another way of saying the latest version of gmod. But technically it still and always will be Gmod 10.

Actually the last number before he dropped version numbers for retail altogether was 11, meaning the "version number" is still 11, it's just not put anywhere you can see it anymore.
