Your lucky to get 10kb I am constantly downloading at 2.6 bytes per second and it take's 2 hours for a 1mb file. How come it never used to do this??

2g (cellular) is like 244kbit... or rather 32KiB/s, and 2gbit (200MiB/s) (impossible even by corporate accessibility) just incorrect. 400KiB/s is 4mbit. I can pull 20mbit (2MiB/s) off of the GMod S3 download server most the time from my EC2 (AWS) node (Gbit capability granted such massive traffic can be afforded given the line is metered per gb at $0.10c/GiB), and about the same from my iWeb dedicated server (10mbit unmetered with 80mbit sustained burst and 3TiB capacity before meter). The size of the file has little if no effect from my experience with download speed and is purely limited by routing and web server concurrency limits rather than saturation alone as s3 is multi-homed.

My download manager is giving me an estimated time of 8 HOURS for a 20 mb file which-on the old garrysmod.org-would have taken a good 5 MINUTES to download and install. What gives?
Aparently the site which hosts the file for garrysmod.org is overloaded or something. At least thats what I heard. Also firefox is telling me that its gonna take 1hour 20 minutes to download a 21Mb file. what the actual fuck.
My downloads have been getting better the best few months :D used to take me around 20 mins for 1mb now it takes 14 mins to download Tactical_Weapons_Pack_All_In_One (94.5mb)

I don't know I tried to download a file thats 600.77 kb large at a 10 mbit connection and it said that it would have downloaded it in 5 hours according to Google Chrome.

For all the people complaining about slow speeds, you should try doing what Mod Devs want you to do. That is to not post wiremod, PHX etc... on gmod.org. There are these things called SVN's which offer the latest version available and the best speeds. Stop complaining.

Yes, because maps are always hosted in a SVN repo somewhere...
I tried to download spidermod and it was downloading at 1 kb/s, and after a minute it dropped down to 700 bytes/sec.
my download for RE4 weapons which is 5mb is at least taking 1 hours to complete WTF WAS GARRY ON PORN SITES AGAIN

well, I live in California US and usually id get around 1 megabyte per second. now I'm lucky to get 3 kilobytes on a good day. I don't see how garry can be poor unless i hear it from him that he cant afford to host a half decent download site anymore.
