How much content is needed for a thread?
Not too much, but it certainly helps those who check the forum daily to know when there's something new happening. Plus it would keep the rules thread clean of theme related stuff and just discuss rules/contest matters.

I think we will manage. If it isn't going to be out by the next contest then there wouldn't be any point waiting 3 weeks for a new contest. If it's out in a few days I would understand, but I haven't seen any news on that.
I hope to see some decent games for this contest.

Nerdboy's is a tower defense so I'd assume so. It's real-time and it has strategy gameplay so..
I have an idea for a twist.
It has to use a new stat system that is original.
Like everytime you beat a level, you get a point. And whatever you put that point into, the gameplay changes.

Twists are stupid.
The point of a twist is to throw off early starters. Andyv used 3rd person as a twist in a past contest and it worked well. I'll be thinking of more themes/twists while this contest is taking place.
3rd person fucked me over in that contest. D: I'm gonna make a thread tomorrow, but I need to spend the rest of today getting my awesome hud to FUCKING WORK PROPERLY.

I am surprised to see the lack of classical RTS GMs. Classical in the terms of miniature tanks, planes, ships and stuff.

The thing is, there isn't really enough time to create, get working, test, and balance an entity for each building and unit you would find in a "classical" rts. Also, it would mean finding/making loads of custom models for the gamemode too.

True, the time is pretty low. It is about 23 days? I do not know much about coding but I sure do know it takes a long time to make something like a GM. I am not speaking sarcastic, I really do know it takes a very long time to get things just right.
Would balancing still be hard if the GM is ultra basic? Think of Advanced Wars without all the techs such as CO Boost, and Terrain. Without that, it all boils down to which units have a + or - against certain units.
Yes but gamemodes in this contest don't need to be complete. Read the OP.
I still don't have any towers finished. I might have to pull out of the contest.
